New Delhi, February 21, 2023: Axtria, one of the world’s fastest growing data science companies, announced the opening of its second delivery center in India. The new office is in Candor Tech space, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. In a bid to satisfy the increasing demand for data analytics and cloud-based solutions from markets in US, Latin America and Europe, the company is gunning to increase capacity in India and will create employment opportunities in the NCR region.

The new office in Noida is company’s fourth in the National Capital Region. The other three are in, Cybercity, Gurugram with the most recent one being launched in September last year. Outside of India, Axtria has offices in New Jersey, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, London, and Dublin.

Disable Windows Update Delivery Optimization In Windows 10

Windows Update Delivery Optimization (WUDO) is designed to help Windows users get the Windows store apps and other Windows updates more quickly and efficiently – even if you have an unreliable Internet connection.

The WUDO feature is enabled by default in all Windows 10 systems except the Enterprise versions. When enabled, all the Windows updates are shared among all the PCs in the same network. This helps save your Internet bandwidth, as every PC in your network will be sharing the updates among them rather than downloading the updates separately from Microsoft servers.

Along with sharing and downloading the updates and apps over the local networks, the WUDO feature also shares them with other PCs over the Internet. Simply put, this new feature is much like a torrent and uses your bandwidth to share the updates with other PCs over the Internet.

According to Microsoft, the WUDO feature has very little impact on your Internet connection. Moreover, when downloading the Windows updates from other PCs, Windows checks for the integrity of those files as if they are downloaded directly from the Microsoft servers. If there are any changes or inconsistencies in the files, Windows stops downloading from the target PC and checks for another source, be it another PC on the Internet or the Microsoft server.

This is all good and well, but if you are on a limited or metered Internet connection, then keeping this feature enabled may not be an option for you unless you want to pay hefty bills in the name of the Internet. So it is a good thing to either configure or disable the feature so that it won’t waste your bandwidth.

Customize or Disable the WUDO Feature

As I said before, the WUDO feature is enabled by default and is also configured to download and share updates with PCs on the local network and on the Internet.

If you want to completely disable the WUDO feature, toggle the button to “Off,” and you are good to go.

However, if you just want to share the updates among the PCs in your local network, then select the “PCs on my local network” option.

This action ensures that the updates are only shared with PCs on your local network and not with PCs on the internet.

This Company Plans To Build A Self

Two clear trends are developing in the automotive space: The first is the move away from internal-combustion engines and toward battery-electric vehicles, and the second is the pursuit of autonomy. Cars that can drive themselves come from the likes of Waymo and other companies, while automakers such as Tesla boast about their driver-assistance features. 

One company planning on tinkering at the intersection of these trends is called Lightmatter, which is going to build the brains of a self-driving prototype vehicle. The company’s microchips set them apart from others in the tech industry: The chips that will do the computing for this experimental self-driving car will be light-based, unlike the traditional chips that employ electrons and transistors. 

The company, in conjunction with Harvard University and Boston University, has received $4.8 million in funding from a government organization called IARPA. That stands for Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity, and can be thought of as an analog of DARPA—which funds defense-related research—but from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. 

Lightmatter, unlike outfits such Zoox or Rivian, is definitely not a car or transportation company, so don’t expect to see Lightmatter-branded vehicles passing you on the highway. It’s a chip company, and the photonic chips they make are specifically geared towards powering artificial intelligence computations in an efficient way. 

“We are building something that’s not a general-purpose processor—it’s a processor targeted at AI,” says Nicholas Harris, the CEO and co-founder of Lightmatter. Running the neural networks that can execute AI tasks, such as what goes on in computer-vision processing, takes math. “It’s a lot of multiplication and addition, and it’s a lot of moving data around the chip at very high speeds—so we do all of those operations using integrated photonics,” he says.

A photonics chip uses light waves, whereas traditional computer chips are based on electric circuits and transistors. One very simple way to think about the difference is this: “The basic concept is really destructive and constructive interference of light in one case, and controlling the path of electrons using transistors as switches in the other case,” explains Ajay Joshi, an associate professor at Boston University who is also involved in the project.

So why try to use light-based chips on a self-driving car, even just as an experiment? Since Lightmatter boasts that its chips are both faster and more efficient than a traditional chip, the idea here is that running the brains of a self-driving car with their chips could more efficiently use the limited electrical resources onboard an autonomous EV. “Our vision, as that [AV] market grows, is that we’re going to preserve battery range while providing the enormous amount of compute you need to rip out the steering wheel,” says Harris. 

He says that their light-based chips will “serve as the brain for a buggy.” The entire experimental vehicle won’t run on light-based chips (so technically, the system will be a combination of photonic chips and traditional ones), but the part of the computing hub handling the AI would. That brain would probably operate “multiple neural nets that are running back-to-back,” he adds, helping the buggy figure out what its perception system is seeing and what the car should do next. 

The company is not planning to actually create a car from scratch. “We’re just going to buy something off the shelf,” Harris says. “We’re not trying to innovate on anything to do with the car—it’s just the brain.” The light-based chips, in other words, could work as the central compute unit for a self-driving buggy or even a golf-cart-type contraption. The ultimate goal is that if that brain can do its AI-operations efficiently, then the self-driving buggy could do more with its batteries.

Galaxy Note 20 series

Samsung has scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked Event for Galaxy Note 20 series on August 5. There are as many as three smartphones that the company may launch at the event. The new Note series flagships from Samsung will get Snapdragon 865+ SoC in the USA, and Exynos 990 SoC in Europe and Asia. The phones are said to feature a 12MP rear camera (108MP camera in the Ultra version), a 64MP telephoto lens with 30x space zoom (12MP periscope lens with 50x space zoom in Ultra), and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.

Galaxy M51

There’s not any confirmation from Samsung about the Galaxy M51 yet, but the company may launch the smartphone in India in late August. Recently, a Samsung device with model code SM-M515F alleged M51 appeared on Geekbench. It revealed key specs of the phone and it may include Infinity O AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 675 SoC, 8GB RAM, and Android 10 with OneUI 2.0.


POCO launched the POCO F2 Pro for global markets back in May. This is a flagship smartphone from the company that comes with a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 865 with 5G support, Android 10 with MIUI 11, 3D glass back, 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, and a 4700mAh battery with 30W fast charging. The company could launch this in India in August.


POCO will launch another smartphone in India, but this time it will be under 10,000. The company may launch the recently launched Redmi 9C as a rebranded POCO C3 in India. The phone is already certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards, TÜV Rheinland, and Bluetooth SIG certification. The Redmi 9C comes with a 6.53-inch Dot display, triple rear camera, and a 5000mAh battery. It is also the first phone to get the Helio G35 processor.

Realme V5 or Realme 7

Realme has recently announced its V5 5G smartphone in China. The company may launch it as Realme 7 or Realme 7 Pro in India in August. The key specs of the new V series phone include a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD 90Hz screen with a 16-megapixel camera inside the punch-hole, the latest Mediatek Dimensity 720 SoC with support for 5G, a 48-megapixel rear camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 30W fast charging.

Difference Between Centre Of Gravity And Centroid


Centroid is the term that applies to a geometrically balanced figure or an object. It is the center of that figure or object. The methods to find the center of a symmetrical entity differs, but it exists, and there is no confusion about that.

For example, a triangle has the centroid which is the meeting point of three medians. In contrast to the centroid, the center of gravity is a broader term that encompasses symmetrical and asymmetrical objects and figures. It is interesting to note that the center of gravity and the centroid are the same for a symmetrical object as well as volumetric figures and shapes. For asymmetrical objects, we need to do a weightdistance analysis and find the average by dividing it by the total weight to find the distance of COG. The figure below gives an idea of how we can perceive both these concepts

The Centre of gravity and centroid tend to be the same for two-dimensional figures and volumetric figures and is important to know because of the stability and balance it provides. In the above figure, the center of gravity of irregular stones will shift to the left due to the tilt presented while arranging them one by one and due to the irregular shapes of the stones. In the case of trapezium, the formula is given in the figure once you have a, b and h. This article gives clarity to the concept of the center of gravity and centroid. Both of them are very closely related terms in terms of centering or stability of a volume or mass object but differ under certain circumstances.

Centre of Gravity (COG)

The Centre of gravity is the imaginary point in an object through which the earth’s gravitational force acts on the material mass of an object to create its weight. It is at that point the entire weight is focused to provide the required stability for that object.

The equation Weight = Mass $mathrm{times}$ Gravitational Force;W = mg is worth mentioning here. The center of gravity is the distance from a reference point on the object. So the unit by which it is measured is in meters.

The importance of the center of gravity is well understood if you take the example of the stability of automobiles. Cars, trucks, and vehicles have a very strict design phase where the manufacturers test the COG of the vehicle to be as low as possible when satisfying all other requirements. The lower the COG is; the better stability is for the vehicle on road.

The Centre of gravity is an imaginary point in the object where the weight of the object acts downward due to the effect of the earth’s gravitational force. The Centre of mass is the point in the object matter, where external force acting in the object would make its effect of moving in the direction intended by the external force.

No other factors other than the intended direction are connected with the point identified as the center of mass. In many scenarios, both of these would converge to the same point. But both are not the same always. COG acts downward due to gravity, while in contrast, COM acts in the intended direction of external force.

Two interesting concepts were detailed in this article. The common idea in both is symmetry and balancing tone. Each of these topics were explored in terms of definition, core concept, equations, relation with the center of mass, practice problems, and last but not least, the differences between two – centroid and center of gravity. How do employee retirement plans work?

Employer-sponsored retirement plans are common in the workplace. It’s important to understand how these plans are structured and how your company – and your employees – can get the most out of your benefits package.

Linda Wolohan, former communications manager for investment management firm Vanguard, said employee retirement plans come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

“The type of plan can vary in features, and can vary in terms of whether the employer makes all the contributions to the plan, the employee makes all the contributions to the plan, or whether it’s a joint effort,” Wolohan said.

A joint effort means the employer offers a matching contribution. Meghan Murphy, vice president and team lead for life events at Fidelity Investments, said that in addition to the money employees invest on their own, many businesses match a certain percentage of that amount with their own contribution to the employee’s retirement account.

“A common match is 100% on the first 3%,” Murphy said. It works like this: if the employee goes over that 3% – contributing 5% of their paycheck, for example – the employer would just match the 3%.”

With the uncertainty surrounding Social Security benefits, employer-sponsored retirement plans have become much more important in recent years, Augelli said.

“People really need to be taking the onus for their own savings and personal retirement, and there is no better way to do that than to be [with] an employer who is going to offer you one of these plans,” he said.


Employee retirement plans allow workers to save pretax dollars for retirement in investment accounts that can grow over time. Some employers offer matching contributions to encourage employees to participate.

Types of employee retirement plans

Employers have many retirement plan options, each with pros and cons. For small businesses, the most popular options are 401(k) plans and Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees Individual Retirement Accounts, commonly known as SIMPLE IRAs.

401(k) plans

Small businesses that don’t offer a SIMPLE IRA typically offer a 401(k) plan. Augelli said 401(k) plans provide employers with many more options and give employees the chance to contribute more money – up to $17,500 per year.

“A 401(k) plan offers a lot more flexibility,” he said. “They have more flexibility in terms of which types of employees are eligible to take part in the plan, how fast employer contributions may vest or be earned by the employees, and you can defer more.”

Murphy said that 401(k) plans were originally meant to be a supplemental source of retirement funds, since many employers also offered their workers some type of pension plan. However, over the past decade, many businesses have eliminated their pension plans, putting greater emphasis on the 401(k).

“It is no longer supplemental,” Murphy said. “The 401(k) has become the primary savings vehicle for the majority of Americans who will retire in the upcoming years.”


Augelli said the SIMPLE IRA was designed specifically with small businesses in mind because these plans can be set up quickly for a low cost.

“They really are meant to be more of a one-size-fits-all solution – basic in their design, but offered at a very reasonable cost,” he said. “It’s kind of like a starter 401(k) plan.”

With a SIMPLE IRA plan, employers are required to make either matching or nonelective contributions and must allow all employees to participate in the plan. Employees are only allowed to contribute $11,500 per year to the account. These plans are generally available to businesses with fewer than 100 employees.

SIMPLE IRA vs. 401(k)

When employers are choosing between a SIMPLE IRA and a 401(k), they should consider the size of their business.

“If this is a business with five employees or less, [a] SIMPLE IRA is probably going to be the right vehicle for you,” Augelli said. “You aren’t going to have a lot of need for customization, since you are most likely a smaller, younger firm.”

Augelli said ADP, where he formerly served as vice president of product marketing and business development, suggests that businesses in growth mode with more than five employees strongly consider the 401(k) plan.

“[The 401(k) will] give you those customizable levers to help you manage your expenses, help you manage different populations of employees in different ways, and also offer the maximum savings opportunity,” he said.


Should you offer a 401(k) plan or SIMPLE IRA? Think about the needs of your employees. If you’re uncertain about what employees need or want, consider conducting an employee survey to gather feedback.

Roth 401(k) and IRA

Employers’ other retirement plan options include Roth 401(k) plans and IRAs. Under these plans, taxes are paid on contributions when they are invested in the account, rather than when they are withdrawn in retirement. These types of retirement plans are more liquid so employees can access them if needed.

Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) IRA

Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) IRAs are another option for employers. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, SEP plans allow employers to set aside money in retirement accounts for themselves and their employees. Under a SEP, an employer contributes directly to traditional individual retirement accounts (IRAs) for all employees.

These retirement plans mirror 401(k) plans, but are offered only to state and government employees.

“These plans can be complex, and they can be time-consuming, so you want to go with an administrator who is focused on offloading a lot of your administrative burden,” Augelli said. “You want to choose someone who is going to do that work for you, who is going to make it easy, take [up] less [of your] time and keep you compliant.”

Educational tools

The best employee retirement plan providers offer educational tools to help employees with the daunting task of saving for their retirement, said Julia Missaggia, chief people officer at CMI Media Group and Compass.

“We chose a retirement plan provider that has online calculators to help our employees estimate their retirement needs,” she said. “These can be accessed at any time, and they help our employees make informed decisions when it comes to their accounts.”

Online access

Missaggia said employers should also choose a retirement plan provider that allows employees to easily keep tabs on their retirement accounts.

“If you don’t know how your account is performing, you don’t know what adjustments to make,” she said. “Therefore, we made sure our retirement plan website offers employees detailed information regarding the daily performance of their portfolio.”

No kickbacks

Scott Swisher, managing principal at Swisher Financial Services, said it’s critical to find an employee retirement plan provider that doesn’t take kickback payments from any of the mutual-fund companies in which they invest. Rather than choosing to invest in funds that offer employees the greatest chance to make money, providers that accept kickbacks are often selecting plans that give them the best chance to make money, he said.

“Retirement plan providers who accept kickback payments from mutual-fund companies have a huge incentive to include [those] mutual funds in 401(k) plans, because if they do, they make more money, plain and simple,” Swisher said.

Onsite visits

Employers should look for an employee retirement plan provider that will send representatives to meet with employees face-to-face, to discuss both the retirement plan and retirement process. This is especially useful if your employees have a choice in plans, as selecting from a variety may be confusing to some employees.


Murphy said automation tools are a nice feature some employee retirement plan providers offer. These tools include automated investment options for employees who aren’t sure where to invest their money, and automated enrollment options, which automatically sign up all new employees for the retirement plan as a way to encourage them to participate.

“There is [also] an auto-increase that, once people are in the plan and actually contributing, helps them bump up their savings a little bit each year,” Murphy said.

Mobile app

It’s also important to find a retirement plan that gives employees constant access to their accounts through their mobile devices, Murphy said.

“Having a good mobile strategy makes it really easy for people to save,” she said. “They can then access their accounts on their phone or tablets.”
