BLU Quattro smartphone series revealed with NVIDIA Tegra 3
This week the team at BLU have revealed a new series of smartphones with the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor line inside, making it clear that they’re pushing for a more mainstream showing of their Android-based mobile products. This lineup includes the Quattro 4.5, Quattro 4.5 HD, and rounding off the series with a device so large it’s just about as big as a tablet with the Quattro 5.7 HD. These devices will be available for relatively inexpensive prices unlocked – that means you’re not going to have to tie yourself up with a mobile operator for 2 years just to afford the device – might be a winning solution!
With the BLU Quattro 4.5 HD you’ll be working with a 4.5-inch HD 326PPI display with what the company calls Advanced Super View technology. This technology is said to bring “spectacular clarity” as well as “rich, natural color” – can’t wait to see it! The Quattro 4.5 HD also has a pane of Corning Gorilla Glass up front to stay tough against scratches and you’ll have an 8 megapixel camera on the back with f/2.4 large aperture lens with 1080p video recording abilities.
Inside the Quattro HD you’ll have 16GB of internal memory as well as 1GB of RAM while your NVIDIA Tegra 3 SoC will be running at 1.5GHz out of the box. This device will be availabe the first week of February, 2013, complete with a $349.99 retail price unlocked. You may find the fact that they’ll all be coming with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to be less than appealing, but they also include a “planned upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as well. STEP 3: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
DOWNLOADSDownload the file given below and transfer it to a separate folder on your phone and remember the location.
ROOT FILEBe sure to transfer the Root file you downloaded above to your phone and remember the location of the files.
You will need to flash it now on your device using either of ClockworkMod (CWM) or TWRP recovery.

GUIDE FOR CWM RECOVERY USERS
Boot into recovery mode. For this:
Power off your device and wait for 5-10 seconds until the device is fully switched off.
Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together and release them as soon as you see the Galaxy Grand Quattro logo on your phone’s screen.
└ In Recovery Mode, use Volume buttons to navigate Up and Down between options and use Power button to select an option in recovery.
Create a Nandroid Backup from recovery. It’s optional but very important to do, so that in case something goes wrong you can restore to current status easily. For making a Nandroid Backup, go to Backup And Restore » Backup.
Install the Zip file:
Select Install zip » Choose zip from sdcard (or external sdcard, you know where your files are) » browse to the location where you saved the file and select the SuperSU_v1.65.zip file.
Reboot your device. For this, go back to the main menu of recovery and select reboot system now.
That’s all. Your phone will now reboot. On rebooting your phone will have proper root access.
GUIDE FOR TWRP RECOVERY USERS
Boot into recovery mode. For this:
Power off your device and wait for 5-10 seconds until the device is fully switched off.
Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together and release them as soon as you see the Galaxy Grand Quattro logo on your phone’s screen.

What Is 4K And Ultra Hd Blu
What is 4K?
Put simply, 4K is four times the resolution of ‘Full HD’ video. Most current TVs have a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, which is called Full HD. That’s a misnomer of course, because 1920×1080 isn’t the highest possible resolution. 4K refers to the number of pixels across the image, which is almost 4000. The actual resolution of most 4K devices is 3840×2160. This is why it is also called 2160p on some phones and cameras.
UHD, though, is the acronym you’ll hear most in relation to TVs as it’s more easily understood as a progression from Full HD. 4K and UHD are used interchangeably, and it simply stands for Ultra High Definition.
Ultra HD Premium: 4K standards explainedUntil earlier this year there was no official standard for UHD. No resolution nor other aspects such as the frame rate and colour spectrum were set in stone.That’s why it’s something of a minefield to buy an older 4K TV as you have to be very careful to make sure that it has up-to-date HDMI inputs (at least one needs to support version 2.0) and also the new video format – H.265 a.k.a HEVC – which has become the standard format used for 4K broadcasts and for streaming. Netflix and Amazon are already using it for streaming in UHD.
In January 2023, the recently formed UHD Alliance finally announced a new standard: Ultra HD Premium. You’ll see this on TVs and other devices (such as Ultra HD Blu-ray players) and it means they meet or exceed the minimum requirements for the standard. As the name suggests, it’s a better-quality version of 4K. Resolution remains the same, but it set certain standards for brightness, black level, colour depth and gamut and more to ensure these devices can handle HDR video. HDR is a major reason to buy a new 4K TV with the Ultra HD Premium badge, but many non-premium TVs will still allow you to watch 4K video.
Ultimately, even with the new standard, it’s still very confusing to know what to look for when choosing a UHD TV.
Ultra HD Blu-rayIt’s almost impossible to find any TV broadbast in 4K yet, and there isn’t a whole lot of content on Netflix or Amazon. The situation will improve, but there’s now a new option: Ultra HD Blu-ray. This is an update to the Blu-ray standard which means that discs can contain real UHD video.
Previously, you could buy 4K Blu-ray discs, but these were merely created from 4K video downscaled to the normal 1920×1080 resolution. The new Ultra HD Blu-ray discs have 3840×2160-pixel video at up to 60 frames per second and may also have HDR video on them.
There are currently two players to choose between: Panasonic’s DMP-UB900 and Samsung’s UBD-K8500. They’re not cheap though: the UB900 costs £599 from Currys and the K8500 costs £430 from Appliances Direct.
The discs themselves cost around £25 and there aren’t many of them yet. Launch titles include Mad Max: Fury Road, Kingsman, The Lego Movie and Life of Pi. Universal is releasing 100 Ultra HD Blu-rays by the end of the year and Sony is also getting involved. Titles such as The Amazing Spider-man 2 are already available from Amazon.
Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros. and Paramount will also have Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, with some titles being re-issues of older films which you’ll now be able to watch in glorious 4K.
The discs will not play in a standard Blu-ray player and they are region free (unlike Blu-rays). Some of the new discs will support new audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X but there’s no change in the actual quality of the audio on an Ultra HD Blu-ray – it’s the same specification as Blu-ray.
What’s important is that the bit-rate is higher than streaming video services and with features such as HDR, you should see noticeably better quality from an Ultra HD Blu-ray than you will from Netflix or Amazon. And if you do have a surround-sound system, audio should be noticeably higher quality too.
Right now, of course, it’s too expensive to recommend investing in an Ultra HD Blu-ray player: prices are bound to come down towards the end of the year.
UHD TV poll 4K explained: The history of high definitionAs a very brief history, SD (or standard definition) TV had a resolution of 704×576 in the UK. In the US, only 480 lines were used. These were pre-widescreen resolutions, but widescreen SD merely increased the horizontal resolution and kept the same number of lines (the vertical resolution). Because the aspect ratio of the video pixels could be altered to create widescreen or non-widescreen content, video resolutions are often referred to only by the vertical resolution (number of horizontal lines): 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080p etc.
‘HD Ready’ displays then became available in the mid-2000s. These typically had a resolution of 1280×720, and content with this resolution was branded as ‘HD’. This is why displays and video content with a resolution of 1920×1080 was called ‘Full HD’.
A resolution of 1920×1080 roughly equates to 2 megapixels, which isn’t very high by today’s camera standards. Displays, however, have lagged far behind camera sensors, and it’s only now that we’re seeing TVs and computer displays with resolutions higher than 1920×1080 becoming affordable.
What you need to watch UHD TV
Display
Obviously, a 4K display is the first component you’ll need. Usually that means a TV, but there are also projectors and computer monitors. We’ve reviewed the latest 4K PC monitors.
If you’re buying a TV, look specifically for HEVC / H.265 support. It’s useful to try to get the apps you’ll need on board, rather than relying on an external set-top box or media streamer. Currently, though only Amazon and Netflix have 4K-compatible apps, and it’s crucial to check if your chosen TV includes the 4K versions of the apps before you buy.
When adding 4K sources, your TV will need HDMI 2.0 ports that support HDCP 2.2 or later. On cheaper 4K TVs, you might find only one port supports this, with the others only supporting older versions of HDMI, such as 1.4.
If you need more than three or four HDMI 2 ports, you should consider a 4K-capable AV receiver. Again, ensure the ports are HDCP 2.2 compliant.

Aside from a UHD TV, you’ll need some content to watch. All UHD displays will upscale lower resolution video, just as Full HD TVs do now. Upscaling is similar to enlarging a photo in an editing program: it doesn’t add extra detail, it merely uses interpolation to ‘guess’ the colour of the newly created pixels. 1080p video upscaled to 4K might seem sharper, but in reality you’re looking at the same level of detail a Full HD display would show. Some TVs are better at upscaling than others, with Sony being one of the best.
UHD & 4K contentIf you’re going to spend hundreds or thousands on a UHD TV or monitor, you’ll want 4K video to get the most out of it. This is still surprisingly thin on the ground, but it will broaden out hugely in 2023.
BT broadcasts certain programmes in UHD on its Sports channels, and Sky has just announced its new Q box which will let you watch sports, movies and TV shows which Sky will be broadcasting in UHD in 2023, hopefully including the next series of Game of Thrones. BT’s is a broadband service and you’ll need at least a 44Mbit/s download speed before BT will offer you a UHD chúng tôi you’d expect, the BBC and other broadcasters are all working towards offering a UHD service.

Netflix and Amazon: UHD streaming servicesBefore you get too excited, both services offer UHD only for a limited number of shows. For Netflix you’ll need a Premium subscription (£8.99 per month) and a 4K TV with the Netflix app and support for HEVC / H.265. Don’t forget that your broadband connection needs to be a ‘reliable’ 25Mb/s in order to reliably stream UHD content from Netflix.
Amazon doesn’t charge extra for UHD, which is nice, but you will of course need a 4K TV with the Prime Instant Video app – or the new Amazon 4K Fire TV which you can buy for £79.99.
Both services have some of their own original content in UHD – Transparent and Alpha House for Amazon, and House of Cards and Breaking Bad for Netflix. Amazon has several upcoming original shows which will be available in UHD, as does Netflix.
Only Amazon lets you buy 4K movies, though. These start at £14.99, and the list includes After Earth, Captain Phillips, Elysium, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,Godzilla, Moneyball, The Mask of Zorro, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Da Vinci Code, The Patriot, Think Like a Man Too, This Is the End.
You’ll find a selection of 4K content on YouTube, but little of interest. And you’ll need the YouTube app on your TV to watch 4K content.
PhotosBesides video, you can watch photo slideshows in glorious 4K on a UHD TV. Photos, as we said right at the start, contain more detail than any Full TV can show natively, but a 4K TV can show almost all the detail of an 8Mp photo. An iPhone 5, for example, takes photos at a resolution of 3264×2448 which is similar to 4K resolution.
GamesDon’t bother looking to games consoles for 4K content, though, as both the Xbox One and PS4 lack the necessary HEVC H.265 decoder. If you have a new PC with a powerful graphics card, there’s a chance it might support 4K gaming but only if you have an Nvidia GTX 980 or Radeon R9 295 graphics card. Even then, a single card will struggle to maintain more than 30 frames per second at 3840×2160.
Home videosYou can create your own 4K UHD content by buying a 4K camcorder, 4K GoPro or a smartphone which can record 4K video. Most of the current flagship models do this, including the iPhone 6S, Galaxy S6, LG G4, HTC One M9, Nexus 5X and 6P, Xperia Z5 and Moto X Style and Force.
However, just because a device supports 4K recording doesn’t mean it will be top quality 4K. The same sentiment applies to 4K video. Just as Full HD quality varies between Blu-ray movies, streaming services and broadcast TV channels, so will 4K video.

Well, it is actually a service that becomes available after you have purchased an NVIDIA GPU and installed the GeForce Experience Control Panel.

How do I turn off NVIDIA Capture? 1. Turn of Game Stream
Open the NVIDIA GeForce Experience application.
Navigate to Settings and check Features.
Turn off the Game Stream.
The NVIDIA Capture Server Proxy is a component of the Game Stream service. For this reason, it will allow you to stream your game to other in-home devices.
This solution requires you to close the Game Stream service. After you have closed this process, that will decrease the number of resources it uses.
2. Disable Nvidia Capture Server proxy from services.mscAfter you have disabled NVIDIA Streamer Service, this will prevent this service to start itself in the future.
This solution allows you to verify how many NVIDIA services are running, and to close those that are not necessary.
Two of them are the Streamer Service and the User-Agent. These services allow you to stream games from your PC to NVIDIA Shield devices. It is not necessary to let them run in your operating system.
When you disable them, that will completely disable the NVIDIA Capture Server Proxy. This solution will free up some computer memory, and your gameplay will also improve.
3. Disable the NVIDIA Web Helper serviceThe NVIDIA Web Helper service has the purpose to download automatically new drivers and then install them. In some situations, it will disrupt other computer processes.
This solution allows you to disable this service. Once performed, you will not find the NVIDIA Capture Server Proxy as an active process in Task Manager.

But when we consider that it only has 12GB of VRAM with memory bus width limitations at 4K, it’s less enticing. It does have a significantly lower TDP power output than the RTX 3090 Ti, which helps its performance.
The following performance graphs were taken from Brad Chacos’ 4070 Ti review. The RTX 3090 Ti was not available for testing at that time, so we will reference the original RTX 3090. Know that the RTX 3090 Ti is on average about 8 to 10 percent faster, so keep that in mind when we’re discussing the comparison so you can better understand how the performance stacks up. The original RTX 3090 is an apt starting point since it was the “original” top GPU before the Ti version came out.

Starting with Cyberpunk 2077, the RTX 4070 Ti gets up to 102fps at 1440p, which beats the regular RTX 3090’s 90fps. The RTX 3090 Ti being 8 to 10 percent better than the RTX 3090 would land it right around the 100fps mark—so within the margin of error for the RTX 4070 Ti, an impressive showing. The 70-class GPU often does put up a good showing against the previous flagship. The much better priced Nvidia RTX 3070 at $499 put up a good fight against the $1,199 2080 Ti previous generation. While the 4070 Ti is more expensive, so is the RTX 3090 Ti—and both show how much the pricing has increased in such a short amount of time.

It’s a similar story with the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The 4070 Ti maintains equal or better footing with both the RTX 3090, and the 3090 Ti. It beats the original RTX 3090 across all three resolutions. The 3090 Ti, being 8 to 10 percent faster than the RTX 3090 almost precisely matches the RTX 4070 Ti performance here—and in some cases, the RTX 4070 Ti even comes out slightly ahead. The 12GB limitation does not yet show to be much of an issue, especially with ray tracing off and 1440p. If this resolution is your targeted goal, you’ll be able to achieve fairly high frame rates in most titles and with high or ultra settings on the RTX 4070 Ti. Of course, ray tracing varies by title, and it always manages to put the hurt on any GPU that dares attempt to showcase its beautiful lighting and shadows!
You would have to start pushing 4K, ray tracing, and ticking all the boxes to really start to see the 4070 Ti struggle—especially with its more limited memory bus and 12GB of VRAM. The RTX 3090 Ti does not face these issues, but at 1440p, the RTX 4070 Ti puts up a valiant effort.
Lastly, and this is semi-sarcastic: You can’t SLI/NVLink two RTX 4070 Ti GPUs. You can do that with the RTX 3090 Ti, for what it’s worth. (And not much: SLI/NVLink is basically defunct for gaming uses.)
The RTX 4070 Ti is much more efficient than the RTX 3090 Ti in terms of power consumption.

In terms of physical cooler size, the RTX 3090 Ti was one of the biggest we had seen up to that point—dwarfed only by the recent RTX 4090. The RTX 4070 Ti is also significantly large, since many models may share the same cooler design as their bigger siblings in the RTX 4000. This will result in GPUs that may be difficult to properly fit in smaller cases. As a bonus, the cooling performance will often be overkill on the RTX 4070 Ti.

Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti vs. RTX 3090 Ti: The verdictWhile these GPUs look very different on the surface, they share some important similarities. They both come during the decline of the GPU market, making their respective MSRPs bad values.
The RTX 3090 Ti was the top dog at $1,999—at a time when the RTX 4090 was just months away, at $1,599. This short-lived position resulted in plentiful stock on store shelves. The $799 RTX 4070 Ti is targeted at a different market segment—but the results are similar: The GPUs have been abundantly in stock, and gamers feel that for a 1440p GPU with 12GB of VRAM, this price point is too high.
They’re both also very similar when it comes to many performance metrics—with a steady back and forth in many games at 1440p. 4K is where the reduced memory specs of the RTX 4070 Ti can rear its ugly head, but it maintains some sanity with the inclusion of DLSS 3.0. It’s much more efficient than the RTX 3090 Ti, too.
Unfortunately, neither of these GPUs can truly be crowned a winner in this matchup. While they perform reasonably well for their intended audience, their pricing has not been accepted by gamers. Due to this, any shortcomings they possess become glaring pitfalls—and they’re mostly staying on the shelves until prices come down.
