How do I download an older version of Firefox? Before you think about that, know that the latest Firefox version includes security updates so downgrading to an older version leaves you more vulnerable to attacks and most likely doesn’t fix the problem.
That being said, if you still want to downgrade, you can visit Mozilla’s directory of older Firefox versions.
Downgrading and using older versions can make the browser insecure and more vulnerable to attacks and scams.
That being said, if you are looking for a Firefox 77 download link, all the information you need is right below.
Quick Tip:The Opera browser meets user expectations by maintaining peak accuracy while still supporting earlier versions for Windows XP PCs, for example. This makes it flexible and easy to install and navigate.
It has a different architecture than Firefox, but it is versatile and resourceful. There is no doubt that Opera is a feature-rich browser with a simple user interface and many customization options.

Here’s what you need to know about Firefox 77With WebRender, Firefox should offer superior frame rates. In turn, the feature lets applications run smoothly on the browser.
The tech is a work in progress, however, and to date, it’s still not available to all Firefox users.
According to the release notes for Firefox 77, the feature is on by default on Windows 10 laptops with certain models of Nvidia Graphics hardware.
Other interesting featuresStarting today, Firefox users in the UK will be receiving Pocket’s recommendations for stories and articles. This service is already available in regions and countries like the U.S, Canada, and Germany.
Expert tip:
FixesThis stable version of Firefox sports a couple of accessibility updates. While it’s a shame that some visually impaired users couldn’t access the Firefox Options application list via screen readers, the bug is no more.
The update also fixes a problem where certain live regions didn’t register text changes for JAWS screen reader users.
Additionally, for accessibility tools users, date and time entries won’t be missing labels any more.
What are the different versions of Firefox? You should know that there are five different versions of Mozilla Firefox, as you are about to see below.
First, we will start with the standard version of Firefox, the one that most people use, and you can also see referred to as Firefox Quantum.
The second version is Firefox Nightly, which is for active users who volunteer to test and report bugs. This version is for accessing all the cutting-edge features in development, long before they hit mainstream.
There is also Firefox Beta, the version that allows you to test all of the new about-to-be-released features for the browser.
The fourth one is Firefox Developer Edition, which is pretty much aimed at developers, as you probably noticed from the name.
And, finally, there is Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release), a version that is for organizations that control their client’s desktops, such as businesses, schools, governments, and so on.
You should know that this version doesn’t have the latest features but still gets important security patches.
If you are in need of a Mozilla Firefox 77 offline installer, in order to restore the Firefox browser’s old version, you now know where to get one.
On the official support page for Mozilla’s browser, the one we provided above, you will also find the Firefox 77 32-bit version, as well as Firefox 77 for Mac.

4 Surefire Tips To Drive Better Email Marketing Performance
4 Surefire Tips to Drive Better Email Marketing Performance Bob Lapsley

For the past 8 years I’ve worked at TechTarget, 7 of those were spent catering to the IT end-user audience of our Storage Media Group. My main objectives, in a nutshell, were to grow and nurture these IT professionals, requiring a number of emails to be sent out. Emails to highlight editorial tips, emails to promote vendor white papers, emails to share weekly updates, emails to reactivate inactive members… You name it and chances are I have sent it.
With that being said, I learned a thing or two about what worked and what didn’t when it came to grabbing the attention of an IT pro. And I thought it would only be fair to share these insights with you all, in what I believe will be the internet’s first-ever blog on email marketing best practices.
Get Creative with Inactive Users Simple is BetterHTML-based emails look great, and most users even admit they’d prefer to receive emails in HTML format. But when it actually comes down to it, plain text emails simply perform better than their more attractive counterpart. HubSpot recently published an interesting blog on this exact same topic: Upon reading it, I was excited to know that I wasn’t going crazy for seeing nearly 50% higher CTRs on plain text emails vs. HTML emails. But on the other hand, I was dismayed to realize that this blog I’m writing now isn’t, in fact, the internet’s first-ever blog on email marketing best practices!
Admit your MistakesWhether it’s a broken link, personalization errors or incorrect information, mistakes happen when it comes to email marketing. Rather than ignore the elephant in the room, send out a correction email admitting – and addressing – the mistake. Nearly every “oops email” that I’ve ever sent out has performed above average in terms of Open Rate (OR) and CTR. Not only does the user want to know where we went wrong, but it also adds a bit of humanization to you and your brand.
Be PersonalReaders want to hear from a real person who knows them and their needs. These users are getting hundreds of emails a day, so it’s important you’re catching their attention from the very first “new email alert” . Try using your own name in the “From Line” ; this not only helps humanize the message you’re hoping to convey to the reader, but also helps humanize your brand. Be sure to use personalization in the subject line – as well as in the email where necessary – to speak directly to the reader and what they want to hear, as research has shown these tactics can deliver 6X higher transaction rates. Finally, be sure you’re speaking to your audience on their terms and with a message that is relevant to them: You don’t want to grab their attention using these first few personalization tips, only to have them realize that you’re really just trying to spruce up a generic one-size-fits-all message.

Firefox 5 Speeds To Release
Mozilla today released Firefox 5, three months to the day after Firefox 4 was released. The new Firefox 5 release marks the successful debut of Mozilla’s rapid release process, which iterates new releases every three months.
Firefox 5 includes new performance, standards and privacy improvements as well as improving the overall stability of the browser for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android users.
“Firefox 5 is the fastest Firefox ever, and also the fastest ever to market,” Johnathan Nightingale, Director of Firefox at Mozilla told chúng tôi “Our new rapid release cycle means that the improvements get into users hands more quickly. The latest version of Firefox includes more than 1,000 improvements and performance enhancements that make it easier to discover and use all of the innovative features in Firefox. “
Among the changes is improved visibility for Mozilla’s Do Not Track implementation. With Firefox 5, users can now use an interface item to select whether or not they want websites to track them. Firefox has been supporting a Do Not Track implementation since the Firefox 4 release, though with Firefox 5 it is now user visible. Firefox’s Do Not Track is a simple binary expression — when enabled, it sends an HTTP header that says, DNT=1, which means: “do not track me.”
On the developer front, Firefox 5 supports CSS animations, allowing for a new generation of ‘Flash-free’ web interfaces. Mozilla is also debuting the Firefox Add-on SDK as a tool to help build restart-less next generation add-ons for Firefox. The Add-on SDK is part of the project formerly known as Mozilla Jetpack.
From a performance perspective, Firefox 5 includes a number of HTTP optimizations that help to accelerate content. One such optimization is the Sort Idle HTTP Connections by CWND feature. The HTTP optimization helps to reduce the roundtrip time taken by HTTP transactions by efficiently utilizing the congestion window (CWND) inside of HTTP.
“We’ve been taking a look at optimizing some of the fundamental building blocks of the Web and you’re seeing that start to pay off in the next version of Firefox with our changes to request headers and connection management,” Nightingale said.
Mozilla is not the only browser vendor that is looking at optimizing the transport layer of the web. Google has its own TCP optimization layer called SPDY, which could potentially be leveraged by Mozilla at some point in the future.
“As for SPDY, there’s some work left to do on standardization, but we’re very interested,” Nightingale said. “It looks like a decent evolution for HTTP without changing the app model. We don’t know if or when we’re going to ship it, but we’re interested in spending time implementing it.”
In terms of the upgrade path for current Firefox users, Nightingale noted that Firefox 4 users will start seeing the updates today.
“Once that initial wave subsides, we’ll make it available to 3.6 users who explicitly check for updates from their help menu,” Nightingale said. “Once we determine that we want to address the rest of our users on 3.6, we’ll put together a prompted update to let them know about Firefox 5 and encourage them to upgrade.”
In contrast with the long development cycle for previous Firefox releases, which often resulted in longer lists of user-facing features that took a long time to deliver, the new rapid release cycle is about delivering features faster.
“Over time, users will notice that our rapid release development cycle delivers new features, performance enhancements and security and stability improvements faster,” Nightingale said. “Users won’t have to wait to experience the best the Web has to offer. With every regular update, users are going to get a faster, more stable, and richer browsing experience.”
The process of moving from a feature-based release cycle to a time-based cycle has been a major transformation for Mozilla.
“Frankly, it’s been surprising to see how quickly the entire project has re-organized and shifted from major releases to a rapid release schedule,” Nightingale said. “We’re incredibly proud to ship Firefox to hundreds of millions of users worldwide while maintaining the high standard of quality users have come to expect from Mozilla.”

How To Download A Web Browser On Windows Without Using Another Browser
Most Windows users want to install their favorite web browser once they buy a new machine or do a clean install of Windows. Some aren’t aware that they can install their browser of choice without using another one. This tutorial discusses how to download a web browser without using a separate browser. These methods are versatile enough to be used for other software as well.
Good to know: if you’re a gaming enthusiast, check out the best gaming browsers.
1. Download via Microsoft StoreOne of Microsoft Store’s improvements is that you can now download other apps. Before that, users were limited to only downloading UWP apps that were specifically developed for the Microsoft Store. This change allows you to download most browsers and other software directly from the Microsoft Store. Yet, Google Chrome still isn’t available through the Microsoft Store.
Launch the Microsoft Store.
Search for the desired browser using the search bar, or type “Browser” to see the available options.
The browser will start downloading and installing.
The app will appear in the Start menu, but it may not appear instantly. In this case, just hit Win + S and search for it.
2. Use WingetWinget is a complete package manager that lets you download or update any app by typing an easy command, Linux-style. Follow these steps to use Winget to install a browser.
In the new window, type winget followed by install. Add the software name as indicated below (the developer’s name first, then the software name).
winget install Google.Chrome winget install Mozilla.Firefox winget install Opera.Opera winget install Brave.Brave winget install VivaldiTechnologies.VivaldiTip: check out our list of essential PowerShell commands.
3. Use ChocolateyChocolatey is an alternative to Winget. Use it to download and update your apps and access different software packages available in its library.
Write choco install [software name]. Make sure you replace [software name] with the browser you want to install. Finally, press Enter.
Listed below are the commands for some of the most popular browsers:
choco install googlechrome choco install firefox choco install opera choco install brave 4. With Microsoft HTML HelpIf you want to download a browser for Windows and don’t want to use Winget or go through Microsoft Store, you can try Microsoft HTML Help, an executable program that operates similarly to a browser and is built into any Windows version. Microsoft developed HTML Help to display help pages’ content. However, once help pages started to open directly in Edge, HTML Help became obsolete. Even so, you can still use it for other purposes.
A small retro Google webpage will open, allowing you to download a web browser through it.
Navigate to the download page to get your browser.

5. Use the cURL CommandcURL allows you to download files directly from the Internet using PowerShell. You can assign cURL a webpage, and it will download any files on it, including .EXE files.
Launch PowerShell via Windows Search and run it as administrator.
Enter the command cd Desktop to instruct the cURL command to save files to the desktop.
Good to know: you can find many free quality Windows software online. Check out our list.
Frequently Asked Questions Can I surf the Web without a web browser? You can do many things without a web browser, including downloading files and software using the cURL command and Winget, for example. However, you need a browser to see websites and read their content. Nevertheless, if you’re a privacy-focused person or can’t accept any risks, you may use private web browsers, such as the Tor and Mullvad browsers.

How To Use Key Performance Indicators
Key performance indicators (KPIs) are the core metrics a business uses to track its progress.
Harness KPIs by aligning them with your company’s strengths and weaknesses and position in the marketplace.
Managers need to understand how to collect and analyze KPI data.
This article is for small business owners interested in using KPIs within their organizations.
Imagine your business journey is a road trip. Along the way, you have goals you’d like to meet and milestones you’d like to reach. Those details define your endeavor, ensuring you don’t forget why you started and where you hope to end up. Key performance indicators, also known as KPIs, are how businesses track their progress on that journey. Setting and measuring KPIs let business owners know how their organization is performing – where the company has fallen short, where it has excelled, and what needs to change.
What are KPIs?Every business should have objectives that are specific to its brand, and executive decisions should focus on improving performance in these areas. These objectives are KPIs, and they guide your business in the right direction. KPIs add purpose to your company and help you check off those pit stops along your road trip.
An example of a KPI would be a goal to increase your profit margin for your line of biodegradable paper towels by 20% in the fourth quarter. With that objective, business activities for the next few months should relate to whatever it takes to accomplish that KPI. After the quarter ends, you would assess whether you achieved the KPI. Your success or lack thereof should inform the next KPI you set.
Why are KPIs important?Every business needs money to survive, but revenue is generally not considered a KPI. KPIs are other data points that show whether a company is growing financially and if it is otherwise on the right track. Picking the right KPIs and tracking them properly can add value to a business in numerous ways.
Establish company focus.Even small businesses have numerous functions, not all of which are aligned with each other or even the company’s financial performance. But when an organization focuses on the right KPIs, everyone on the team can quickly grasp how the business is doing and how their work contributes to company performance. When you set KPIs, the business’s objectives become clear to everyone.
Assess business health.A well-thought-out set of KPIs helps leaders understand the health of an organization and where it needs to improve. Take app companies, for example. Two common KPIs for these businesses are user growth and daily active users. By tracking these two related but distinct metrics, executives can better understand what’s going right and what’s not. Based on that assessment, leaders can make informed decisions on how to improve the business.
Gain employee insights.Teams can set their own KPIs to meet in addition to company-wide targets. That way, KPIs help managers keep workers accountable to their particular department and across an organization. Setting individual KPIs also gives team members goals to strive toward and lets them know where they should center their efforts. Monitoring their progress will let you know who is performing well and which KPIs need to be adjusted. KPIs can even boost morale if you reward those who reach their agreed-upon goals.
Did You Know?
KPIs can be an important part of tracking employee performance and creating a performance management plan.
How do you set KPIs?Each department in a business, whether it’s marketing or finance, is likely to have different KPIs. When determining what those KPIs should be, set relative indicators that will help you focus on what matters most to you and your brand. For instance, a KPI for your marketing efforts might be “number of conferences attended in X months,” while a KPI for your financial efforts might be “percentage of revenue increase in X years.”
KPIs also vary depending on the industry. A PR agency might measure media mentions, while a consultancy might measure customer acquisition. However, no two companies – even those in the same field – should have the exact same KPIs. It’s crucial to outline your values as a business in order to have a unique vision to measure against and to ensure you are measuring the right aspects of the company.
To determine the right KPIs for your organization, ask basic questions about your brand: What do you add to your industry? What do you offer customers that your competitors don’t? What are your monetary goals, and how can you achieve them?
You may want to start by determining some SMART (specific, measurable, assignable, realistic and time-based) objectives. Then determine the best KPIs to evaluate if you’re reaching them. [Read related article: How to Set Achievable Business Goals.]
“To set your own KPIs, you need to know both how your strategy creates value and what that value is,” said Kyle J. Brost, CEO of Spark Insight Partners. “Once you’ve defined … the unique or key activities you will perform, you can start setting your own KPIs by making those activities measurable, and then measuring them.”
Make sure your business model and your employees reflect your KPIs. Every person involved in your brand should have the same overall objectives, so only hire those who share your vision – and then measure them, too. Creating a clear company vision statement can help with this process.
Tip
Almost all businesses use some form of email marketing. Here are the email marketing KPIs to consider for tracking the success of your campaigns.
How To Manage Root Users On Mac
This tutorial shows you how to enable root user on your Mac, log in to it, use it, change its password, and finally disable it.
You may be familiar with admin and standard users of your Mac. If you own a Mac, you’re most likely its administrator (if not, you should seriously consider being that). Secondly, if you share your Mac with other people in your family or office, you can create a standard user account for them.
In addition to the above two options, macOS has a lesser know hidden feature to use it as a root user or superuser.
As an administrator on your Mac, you have plenty of privileges like managing other user accounts and changing their settings. But if you need to access additional areas of the system, then you might need to become a root user, which is different than an administrator.
This “superuser” is disabled by default on Mac. So, if you need to enable a root user, we’ll show you how to do that.
Take caution as a root user on Mac
A root user can access system files, additional areas of the system, and comes with a great amount of responsibility. For example, when you’re logged in as a superuser, you can access files even in other macOS user accounts!
Apple recommends the following for root users:
The root user account is not intended for routine use. Its privileges allow changes to files that are required by your Mac. To undo such changes, you might need to reinstall your system software. You should disable the root user after completing your task.
If you still want to enable the root user on your Mac, we’ll now show you how.
Enable root user on Mac
1) Open Directory Utility on your Mac. You can do it in a few different ways:
Method 1: Launch Spotlight and type Directory Utility in it.
You’re now a root user on your Mac.
How to log in to root user on Mac
After you enable the root user, follow these steps to log in to it:
2) On the login screen, select the Other user, which is the root account.
3) Enter root as the username.
4) Finally, enter the root user password you created while enabling the root user (step 4 above), and hit the enter/return key.
You’re now using your Mac as a root user. You’ll notice that it almost appears like a fresh installation of macOS.
You can tweak a few settings, like setting Finder to show the root folder in its sidebar. And then, you can access the files of other users and even add files to their accounts!
Log out of root user on Mac
2) Select your Mac’s admin account if required and enter its password to log in to it.
You’re now out of the root user and into your admin account. You must now disable the root user on your Mac.
Disable root user on Mac
When you finish your task, you should disable the root user account. And you must never use the root user for your everyday use. You already have admin and standard accounts for everyday use.
Change the root user password on Mac
Now that you know how to enable a root user and change the password on your Mac, is this something that you’ll be using? If so, let us know what types of tasks you need to perform that require a root user level.
