Fix Toolbar Not Showing Or Is Missing In Photoshop On Windows

Is the Toolbar missing in your Photoshop app on Windows PC? Adobe Photoshop is the standard photo editing application used to create different types of art and graphics. It is one of the most loved applications by graphics designers and rightly so. However, like any other application, it is not devoid of issues and errors. One of the problems reported by some Photoshop users is that they can’t see the Toolbar in the app.

The toolbar goes missing or just doesn’t show up in Photoshop. For some users, a few tools don’t show up in the toolbar. Let us now find out why you may face this problem.

Why has my toolbar disappeared in Photoshop?

The toolbar in Photoshop might have disappeared if you have pressed the F key. When you hit the F key, the image you are editing shows up without any distractions. This includes hiding the toolbar, panels, and other distractions from the app window. You can simply press the F key back and the toolbar will reappear. Or, pressing the TAB key can do the same. So, you just need to press the TAB key again.

If the toolbar is still missing in Photoshop, there might be some other reason behind it. It could be that you haven’t enabled the Tools option which is why the toolbar is not appearing. Besides that, if you have created a workspace without enabling the Toolbar option, you might face this issue.

How do I get my toolbar back on Photoshop?

To get your toolbar back in Photoshop or show the toolbar panel, you need to ensure that the correct settings are configured. Open your Photoshop app and go to the Window menu from the top menubar. After that, make sure that the Tools option is chosen.

However, some users have complained that the toolbar still doesn’t show up in the app even after enabling the Tools option. Now, fixing this issue becomes critical as the app becomes quite unusable due to missing tools. If you are one of the affected users, this post will interest you. Here, we are going to show different solutions that will help you get back your toolbar in Photoshop.

Fix Toolbar not showing or is missing in Photoshop on Windows

If the Toolbar in your Photoshop app is missing or some or all tools in the toolbar go missing, here are the solutions you can use to fix the problem:

Restore the panels using keyboard shortcuts.

Restore the toolbar defaults using the Edit menu.

Reset your workspace to the Essentials workspace.

Customize the Toolbar.

Add a new workspace with Toolbar enabled.

1] Restore the panels using keyboard shortcuts

You can use keyboard shortcuts to restore or relocate missing panels in Photoshop. Here are some hotkeys that you can press in order to restore respective panels:

Brushes: F5

Layers: F7

Color: F6

Info: F8

Action: ALT + F9

Apart from these keys, you can also make the panels or toolbar show or hide using the Tab hotkey.

If there are tools that have no keyboard shortcuts are usually docked with one or another panels that have a keyboard shortcut assigned. See if these keyboard shortcuts help you restore the missing panels in Photoshop.

2] Restore the toolbar defaults using the Edit menu

Another thing you can do to fix this problem is to use the Edit menu and restore the toolbar defaults. It might be some corruption causing the problem. Hence, if the scenario is applicable, resetting your toolbar to its original state will help you fix the problem. This way you are likely to get back the toolbar in Photoshop. Here’s how you can do that:

Now, from the available options, select the Toolbar option.

If this method doesn’t work for you, move on to the next fix to resolve the issue.

3] Reset your workspace to the Essentials workspace

The next thing you can do to resolve the problem is to reset the current workspace to its original default settings. It has helped some users to get back the toolbar in Photoshop and should work for you as well. To do that, you can use the below steps:

First, go to the Window menu in Photoshop and move to the Workspace option.

Now, choose the Essentials (Default) option.

See if the missing toolbar is restored or not. If not, no issue; we got some more fixes that will surely help you resolve the problem.

4] Customize the Toolbar

If you can’t see some tools in the toolbar, it might be the case that you haven’t customized your toolbar accordingly and added the required extra tools. So, in that case, you can customize your toolbar and add the extra tools that you want to use to your toolbar. Here are the steps to do that:

Now, select the Customize Toolbar option, or simply press the three dots icon in the left-side panel.

Next, under the Extra Tools section, check for missing tools.

After that, drag the missing tool from Extra Tools and drop it into the toolbar.

You need to repeat the above step for all the missing tools that you need.

Finally, press the Done button to complete the process.

Check if the problem is now resolved.

5] Add a new workspace with Toolbar enabled

If the problem remains the same, you can try creating a new workspace. While doing so, you can enable the Toolbar option. For doing that, you can use the below steps:

Next, enter the name of the workspace you are creating.

After that, make sure to tick the Toolbar along with Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus checkboxes.

Finally, press the Save button and see if the issue is resolved.

Apart from these fixes, make sure the Photoshop app is up-to-date. And, if everything else failed to fix the issue, consider reinstalling the Photoshop application to resolve the problem.

Hope this helps!

Which Withings Smart Scale To Buy – Body Smart, Comp Or Scan?

Smart scales use bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to determine body composition. The scale itself is embedded with electrodes – as is the retractable handle in the case of the Body Scan.

The electrodes send a mild, painless electrical current up through your feet and the scale measures your body’s resistance to it. Lean tissue is a better conductor than fat, bone or skin, so the scale can build up a picture of your body by the speed and strength of the returning current. It tells you much more than an ordinary weighing scale.

In this article, we’ll be discussing the latest range of Withings smart scales: the Body Smart, the Body Comp and the Body Scan.

Withings’ smart scales are not cheap but they are among the best available, promising weighing accuracy, delivering a wide range of metrics and accompanied by a free to use, high-quality app.

But if you want one, which one should you buy? Below, we give you a rundown on the prices and features of each.

Incidentally, you can still buy older Withings models, including the Body Cardio (Amazon US, $179.95; Withings UK, £149.95). Find out more about it in our review. Although these models are being phased out and replaced by the new range, it could still be worth it if you spot one on offer.

What does a Withings smart scale measure?

All three scales – the Body Smart, the Body Comp and the Body Scan – will provide these measurements:

Fat mass, muscle mass, bone mass %

Lean mass %, water %

Visceral fat index – visceral fat is the more worrying fat that wraps around your organs and is distinct from subcutaneous fat

Body mass index (BMI) – based on your body fat percentage, it’s a slightly controversial measurement. But in conjunction with other metrics, it can provide useful information to many users

Standing heart rate – an indicator of cardiovascular fitness

Basal metabolic rate (BMR) – the number of calories your body burns at rest (this measurement is coming via a software update later this year)

Metabolic age – based on the number of calories your body burns at rest and compared to others in the same age range (available when BMR arrives)

In the app, you’ll also get a choice of specialist modes: athlete, baby (weight only) and soon, a dedicated pregnancy mode. This will arrive via a software update in the coming months.

Body Smart

Additional features: The Body Smart also offers ‘Eyes Closed Mode’. Turn on this feature and your weight won’t be displayed on the scale’s screen. Instead it can show step tracking, encouraging messages or even just air quality or the weather in your location.

Body Comp

Additional features: As well as the measurements shown above, the Body Comp will provide a vascular age, to give more insight into heart health, and a nerve health score. The newer Body Scan with a colour display also offers the ‘Eyes Closed Mode’. It’ll be coming to the monochrome display model in the near future.

We tested the Body Comp. Find out what we thought of it in our review.

Body Scan

Additional features: Like the Body Comp, the Body Scan will provide a vascular age, to give more insight into heart health, and a nerve health score. It’ll also, of course, provide the measurements shown above. But there’s more.

While there are minor differences between the hardware of the Body Smart and the Body Plus, the Body Scan has an additional element: a retractable handle. In addition to the electrodes in the scale itself, there are four more stainless steel electrodes in the handle, which allow for segmental body composition analysis.

What does this mean? Well, smart scales can tell you your body fat percentage to a reasonably accurate degree but only overall. The Body Scan will break this down further to give you the fat and muscle percentage in your arms, legs and torso. It’ll also let you know how these measurements compare to other Withings’ users.

It also contains a 6-lead ECG, which allows for tracking and analysis of the user’s heart rhythm and which can detect worrying heart patterns.

We tested the Body Scan. Find out what we thought in our full review.

Which Withings scale should you buy?

For people who are concerned with their fitness, rather than their health, we think that the Body Smart will do everything you want a smart scale to do.

If you want a little more health feedback, the Body Comp is a good option.

And for the smaller number of people who want as much health feedback as possible – with an emphasis on heart health – the Body Scan is undoubtedly the leading product in the market.

But smart scales don’t have to be pricey. If you’re looking for a simpler and much more budget-friendly option, have a look at our round-up of the best smart scales we’ve tested, which features reliable smart scales for as little as $25/ £25.

No document is open or your document could not be detected [Grammarly error]

Grammarly is such a great service for both professionals and students. It’s the most popular proofreading tool and it’s both functional and educational. It comes in various add-on options and clients, for browsers and desktops. But, users can use it in Office, as well, to help with proofreading and grammar in Word and Outlook. And that’s where some of them run into a problem. For no apparent reason, Grammarly couldn’t access a document and prompted users with the “No document is open or your document could not be detected.” error.

Don’t worry, there’s a solution for that. We enlisted some solutions to move onward through the list.

How to fix “No document” error in Grammarly for Microsoft Office/Outlook 1: Update Office

The first step we can suggest is to update your version of Word or Outlook to the latest version. Due to a lack of adequate support, Grammarly supports only Office suits from 2024 till this day. If you run an older iteration of Office suite, Grammarly probably won’t work on it.

The updates for Office are administered through the Windows Update so navigate to Update settings and check for updates. In addition. After you’ve got the latest version, try opening the said document and look for changes.

2: Make sure that add-in is enabled

Due to a certain policy, especially in Office 365, some add-ins might get disabled. This, of course, applies to Grammarly, as well. In order for the add-in to work, you’ll need to double-check the Add-ins list and confirm that Grammarly is not on the “Disabled” list.

Follow these steps to do so:

3: Disable antivirus

In some cases, a third-party antivirus will block Grammarly to prevent it from communicating with its servers. We can’t say with certainty whether this is the case or not, but it won’t cost you a thing to try and disable the antivirus temporarily. If that seems to be the cause of the problem, you can always whitelist Grammarly or temporarily disable the antivirus while working in Word or Outlook.

If you’re using Windows Defender, here’s how to disable it:

4: Disable additional add-ins

Some other add-ins in Word or Outlook might conflict with Grammarly so we suggest disabling them. At least, similar tools or the ones you recently installed. You can try with the system of elimination and remove add-ins one by one until you determine the culprit.

5: Reinstall the add-in

Reinstalling the add-in is another solution we can offer. The problem mostly occurs due to changes made to Office via Windows Update. This led lots of users to various errors, including the one we’re trying to address today. After you reinstall the add-in, the problem should be resolved.

Follow these steps to reinstall Grammarly add-in for Microsoft Office:

6: Reinstall Office

Finally, the only thing which comes to mind is the reinstallation of Office. You might as well roll back to an older version or uninstall recent updates. But we can’t suggest that as these patches are important for the security of Office and the whole platform.

After you uninstall the current version, navigate to the official website and download the suite again. Enable Grammarly and look for changes.

How To Fix Outlook Not Working On Android

Microsoft Outlook is an excellent email app for both desktop and mobile phones, but the app does have its fair share of issues. If you use Outlook on your Android phone, chances are you’ve run into problems where the app won’t function.

It may be that the app doesn’t sync your emails, or you can’t send new emails. Regardless of the issue, fixing the underlying problems should get the app back up and running. Here’s how.

Table of Contents

Force Close and Reopen Outlook

When Outlook stops working on your Android, the first thing you should do is force close and reopen the app. This makes Outlook close all its operations and start from a fresh state. That really helps fix minor issues with the app.

You don’t lose any data when you force close and reopen Outlook on your phone.

Tap the Force stop button on the app page.

Select OK in the prompt to confirm your choice.

Outlook is now fully closed.

Relaunch Outlook by accessing your app drawer and tapping the Outlook icon.

Check Your Internet Connection

Outlook uses your phone’s internet connection to sync your email accounts. If your phone’s internet ever stops working, that causes Outlook not to send and receive new emails.

However, if your phone won’t load the site, you likely have a problem with your connection. In this case, you can either find troubleshooting help online or get in touch with your internet service provider and seek help.

Clear Cache Files To Fix Outlook

Whenever there’s an issue involving an app, there’s a good chance that the app’s cache files are causing the problem. Like other apps, Outlook stores cache files on your Android phone, and these files could sometimes be problematic.

Luckily, you can get rid of all these cache files to potentially fix your Outlook app. Doing so doesn’t delete your personal data in the app.

Tap Clear cache to clear Outlook’s cache files from your phone.

Close Settings.

Launch Outlook, and the app should work normally.

Reset Your Email Account in Outlook

Outlook allows you to reset your email accounts when you experience issues in the app. It’s worth using that option when you find the app is not syncing your emails.

You should be able to launch Outlook on your phone to perform this procedure.

Start the Outlook app on your phone.

Tap the profile icon at the top-left corner.

Select the gear icon at the bottom-left corner.

Choose your email account at the top.

Scroll down the page to the bottom and tap Reset Account.

Tap Continue in the prompt to confirm your choice.

Sign Out and Back Into Your Email Account in Outlook

When Outlook acts up, it’s worth removing your email account from the app and then adding the account back again. This resolves any account authentication issues in the app.

You’ll need your email account’s login details to add the account back into Outlook.

Open Outlook on your phone.

Tap the profile icon at the top-left corner.

Choose the gear icon at the lower-left corner.

Select your email account on the screen that follows.

Scroll down the page and tap Delete Account.

Select Delete in the prompt to proceed with your choice.

When your account is removed, re-add the account by entering the account’s login details.

Disable Outlook Add-Ins

Add-ins are useful little tools found within the Outlook app. You can use these tools to get more features in your Outlook emails. Sometimes, though, you may find an add-in that causes issues.

To get around that, disable all your add-ins and see if that fixes your Outlook problems. You can re-enable your add-ins whenever you want.

Launch Outlook on your phone.

Select the profile icon at the top-left corner.

Choose the gear icon at the bottom-left corner.

Scroll down and tap the Add-ins option.

You’ll see a checkmark icon next to the add-ins that you’ve enabled. To turn off these add-ins, tap the checkmark icon for each enabled add-in.

Close and reopen the Outlook app on your phone.

Reinstall Outlook From Play Store

If your Outlook issues still don’t go away, it might be worth removing and reinstalling the Outlook app on your phone. This allows the app to create all its core files from scratch.

You don’t lose any emails reinstalling Outlook, but you’ll need your email account’s login details to add the account into the app.

Access your app drawer and find Outlook.

Tap and hold on Outlook and select Uninstall.

Choose OK in the prompt to uninstall the app.

Open Google Play Store, search for Microsoft Outlook, and tap Microsoft Outlook.

Tap Install to install the Outlook app on your phone.

Open Outlook and log in with your email account.

Download and Use an Older Version of Outlook

If even reinstalling the app didn’t resolve your issue, the Outlook app might have a core problem. In this case, you can try using an older version of the app and see if that works for you.

There are several safe APK download sites from where you can download a little older version of the Outlook app. Then, you can install the APK file to get Outlook on your phone. This works just like how you download apps from Play Store, except that you’re getting an older (but functional) version of the app.
