How To Fix Multiversus Connection Lost Error.

If you are trying to play MultiVersus on Steam but because you keep getting Connection lost errors and are unable to connect. This article will show you several different things you can do to solve the problem and get the game to reconnect to the servers again.

Related: How to fix sound not working on Windows 10 after updating (KB5015878)

Warner Bros Multiversus is a free-to-play (F2P) platform fighter game that lets you battle it out in intense 2v2 matches. With a range of popular characters like Batman, Shaggy, Bugs Bunny, Arya Stark, Rick & Morty and a ton of others. It’s a unique, old-school-style coop fighter game that is quite fun to play.

Connection issues are quite common in games these days and can usually be fixed by restarting your computer and Internet router/modem. However, there are instances where this doesn’t solve the problem, especially in Multiversus on Steam. Thankfully there are a range of other solutions you can turn to, to solve the problem.

Double-check that the Multiversus servers are up and running.

Once you have restarted your computer and your Internet router/modem, you will need to double-check that the game’s servers are actually up and running. Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific website showing the status so you’ll need to visit the MultiVersusand WB Games Support Twitter channels. If there aren’t any recent Tweets, you can assume everything is up and running so the problem is somewhere else.

Try launching Steam as Administrator then launch the game.

Use the Verify Files tool to check the game is installed and working properly.

This process scans and checks for any missing, extra, or corrupted content that may be causing games to get stuck in an endless attempt to update. To Verify Game files you will need to do the following.

First open Steam.

Now change to the Library tab.

Once you have started this process you will have to wait a considerable amount of time for it to complete. Especially for big games. Once your game files have been verified, you’ll be able to start playing the game again without any issues.

Uninstall and Reinstall Steam.

If verifying game files and reinstalling the game still didn’t fix this problem, you will have to uninstall and reinstall Steam on your computer. If you have quite a few games installed this is going to be a painful fix for you. However, there is some good news. Before you start this process, you can make a backup of all your Steam games that are working (don’t include the ones you have having problems with). Alternatively, you can just move your game installations to a different drive on your device, if you have space.

The Last Time Apple Was Without Jobs

Just how visionary is Steve Jobs? It’s a loaded question that’s hard to answer. When Jobs and his friend Steve Wozniak cofounded Apple in 1976, it was impossible to tell that their computers would–at least in the first decade of the 21st century– remake the way the world interacts with technology. But for at least a decade in its storied life, Apple was on the brink of becoming a second-tier brand, if not collapsing completely.

From that point on, Apple took hits in popularity and lost considerable ground to Bill Gates’s growing juggernaut throughout the 1990s. Sculley wasn’t very successful. After him, however, Apple hired two more CEOs who were even bigger busts: Michael Spindler and Gil Amelio.

Jobs and Apple remained estranged until 1997, when Apple bought out Jobs’s personal computer company NeXT, and brought Jobs into the fold along with it. From 1997 on, Apple has been the golden child of the computer industry, producing everything from hardware such as the iBook (in the early 2000s) and the iPhone to revolutionary concepts like the App Store. But what happened to Apple without Jobs–and can the same thing happen to Apple again?

Good Products, Bad Management

Looking back, a number of Apple products that came out in the Jobs-less era theoretically should have been very good for the company, but were either poorly managed or not marketed well enough to gain ground. In these examples we can see how losing Jobs today might bode ill for Apple investors. Perhaps without Jobs telling us what we want before we want it, even the best, most revolutionary products will go unnoticed.

The Newton, released in 1993, is a good example of a strong Apple product that never found its following. The Newton was to be a revolutionary Personal Digital Device–one of the world’s first consumer PDAs. It had a touchscreen and a pen stylus, and almost no competition in the market. But it flopped despite its revolutionary design and “luxury” pricing (two of the things Apple enthusiasts tout as reasons for the iPhone’s success). One problem: Apple allowed Motorola, Sharp, and Digital Ocean to manufacture devices that ran the Newton OS, and ultimately the lack of uniformity may have been a turnoff to adopters (you hear that, Android?). Gary Trudeau’s Doonesbury poked fun at the device’s learn-to-read-your-handwriting software, and although tablet enthusiasts still cite it as a great early mobile device, Apple announced that it would discontinue the operating system in 1998, a year after Steve Jobs returned to the company.

Bad Products, Period

For the most part, however, Apple’s history without Steve Jobs is not of one of good products that can’t find an audience. Instead, it’s a history of unfocused management, unable to make good products at all.

But around the time Apple was trying to lean on its friends, and the Apple, IBM, and Motorola Group (otherwise known as the AIM partnership) was attempting to get the PowerPC chip into its personal computers, Apple’s worldwide market share fell from 12 percent to 3 percent, and Apple struggled to stay relevant in any respect. Even worse, Apple refused to license its OS that worked with PowerPC, so IBM and Motorola lost any chance to make money on the product.

Jobs Needs Apple Like Apple Needs Jobs

But just because Jobs’s second term as CEO was so successful doesn’t mean that everything he ever did was successful. After he was ousted from Apple, Jobs went on to found NeXT, a company that came out with “The Cube,” an expensive but elegant computer. It totally flopped in the marketplace. Jobs got a sort of bailout when he was hired as a consultant in 1996 for Apple, and the company agreed to buy NeXT for $427 million.

Jobs came back and taught Apple that in-house products are the way to go, and Apple has operated the world’s most successful “walled garden” ever since.

A Bloomberg special on Jobs’s career notes that after his stint at NeXT, he learned that he got more attention from being secretive. Although he burned through capital too quickly to make that company profitable, he honed his mum’s-the-word techniques there–techniques that to this day drive the media wild, and probably amp up the hype for Apple products.

Today, as Jobs prepares to step down as CEO for the first time since 1997 (excluding several leaves of absence for medical reasons, in which he remained in control of major decisions in the company), Apple investors are looking back on his career, and hoping that the company can survive without him. Certainly Jobs as a “product impresario” had a vision, but it was a vision to get Apple back on the right track, and he taught the company lessons that it won’t forget.

Managing Remote Employees? Here Are 5 Tips To Live By

Managing a remote team demands a high level of planning and dedication. As an owner of a company or manager of a team, your job is to make sure you and your staff keep a satisfactory level of productivity in order to keep up with the competition. However, when you’re not all working in the same space to actually see everything going on, that can be easier said than done.

As remote work continues to grow, it’s important to know how to effectively manage remote employees. Understanding their top concerns and complaints, keeping them engaged, and using the right collaboration tools are all helpful starts, but we’ll dive into five basic (but necessary) tips to make managing remote employees a win for you and your team.

5 tips to make managing remote employees light work

Whether you’re a franchisee overseeing tons of work-from-home staff members or a small, local team gone virtual, keeping these five tips in your leadership toolbox will make managing remote employees a great experience for you and your employees:

1. Create employee development plans

When you’re working in the same places as your employees, you can easily get a sense of their strengths and areas for improvement. In-office employees may also be more willing to ask questions when you’re right there than they would if you’re a message, call, or email away. This can create a disconnect between you and your remote employees.

An employee development plan (EDP) can help a lot here for both large and small teams. According to Fellow, an EDP is “a roadmap that is created to help employees improve skills in their current position and acquire new competencies and knowledge in order to expand their current responsibilities and maybe even take on new ones.”

How to create an employee development plan

Here’s a blueprint for a suitable EDP:

1. Identify your business goals: What’s your business planning to achieve in the long run? This will help you determine what professional development needs have to be met to achieve your goals.

2. Conduct a skill gap analysis: Determine the skills your employees should have for achieving business goals and analyze the current state of your employees’ skill set by giving them tests, surveying them, etc. You can take your performance appraisal to the next level and use a performance management tool.

3. Talk to employees: Apart from the objective tests and analyses, you need to talk to your employees and see what they think of their skills and how to improve them. This will equip you to help them achieve their personal goals as well.

4. Deciding on training: Based on your findings from the previous steps, you should be able to devise a tailored training program for your employees. Giving employees special assignments and projects, working with a subject matter expert through one-on-one coaching or online courses, and creating local networking groups are some suggestions.

5. Create a written plan and revise if necessary: Writing down your plan makes it possible for your employees to know the objectives and milestones, assess their performance, and understand their shortcomings. A written plan helps you to track your progress and make necessary changes based on the results you’ve got.

2. Clearly outline objectives, milestones, and deliverables

As a manager or small business owner, you are responsible for clarifying project objectives, milestones, and deliverables for your remote team members. But can your team understand them and stick to them the right way?

Failing to understand objectives, milestones, and deliverables makes room for a lot of guesswork and misunderstanding. In this situation, communication is key.

Gallup’s research shows that “knowing what’s expected” from employees is perhaps the most basic employee need and is vital for employee performance. So you’ll want to keep your business organized by making sure your employees have a good understanding of your objectives.

How to best outline objectives, milestones, and deliverables

Use the SMART framework to convey them in the best possible way. SMART stands for:

Achievable (or attainable, actionable, appropriate)

Time-bound (or timely, traceable)

Objectives are the end goals a project is trying to achieve. These are the results the whole team is responsible for. Milestones are the places in a project’s timeline that mark the end of a phase or achievement, while deliverables are what you expect individual team members to complete and deliver in a period of time.

Be sure you’re clear on these aspects before your team starts a project. That way, they’ll have a head start on understanding project objectives, milestones, and deliverables so that they can do their best to achieve them.

Simply expecting your team members to understand key objectives by reading a one-time proposal is a big mistake. To make sure you have a team that understands these three pillars, you need to constantly talk with them and help them with understanding their responsibilities–especially in a remote environment. Mention top-level objectives on your team calls, check-in with employees regularly on specific deliverables, and celebrate key milestones that are hit on time.

3. Preach prioritization

Maybe the most important achievement of managing remote employees is prioritizing the workload and focusing on the most important task at hand. A team is typically involved in multiple projects at the same time and each of these projects has various tasks.

Without prioritization, your team would only be killing time without any meaningful progress.

How to help your remote employees prioritize tasks

One way to prioritize important tasks and projects is by using Kanban boards. According to DPM, “the Kanban method allows you to minimize multitasking, streamline your work in progress efficiency, and improve the speed and quality of the work your collaborative and self-managing team produces.”

A Kanban board is divided into various workflow states such as “To-do,” “Doing,” and “Done.” These buckets are then filled with tasks that are currently in those states.

Kanban’s visualization makes prioritizing tasks easy for your remote employees. It also helps reduce the average time needed for completing these tasks.

While this can help your remote employees stay on track with projects and key deliverables, it can also help you in managing remote employees by giving visibility into where specific tasks are in the pipeline. You can also share your own task board with your team to promote transparency so they can understand what you’re doing in your day-to-day.

4. Always remember communication and collaboration

No matter what remote team management methodology you choose to work with, the key to success is effective communication and collaboration. After all, teamwork is all about collaboration.

And, one of the biggest complaints remote workers have is a lack of both communication and collaboration.

There are various ways to improve communication and collaboration when working remotely. Being clear on your expectations is the most important step—just like how you would be when communicating with customers. As Dmytro Okunyev, the founder of Chanty, explains:

“There’s no agreed-upon etiquette in the teams which were forced to go remote, and this is something that should be addressed. If you have driving rules, why not develop a set of rules for remote team communication? These rules will add clarity to any team.”

Clearly, it’s no secret that clear communication is vital to managing your remote employees. Next, let’s look at how you can apply this concept to your team.

Ways to improve communication and collaboration

Experts recommend having a communication plan to guide team members through.

In a communication plan, you need to define what should be communicated to who, and how and when it should be communicated.

Make a list of people involved in the project along with their contact information. Make sure people understand the goals for communication and what they should deliver. You should also define communication methods (phone, text, video, etc.) and how often it should be done.

Scrum is a project management methodology that focuses intensively on effective communication and collaboration. It encourages meetings at various levels:

Daily meetings that encourage the development team to discuss briefly (15 minutes or less) the challenges they are facing in completing their deliverables.

Meetings at the end of each milestone or “Sprint” in which team members present their achievements and review them.

Retrospective meetings in which team members reflect on their past performance and identify potential places for future improvement.

“Planning meetings” in which team members are encouraged to brainstorm the most efficient ways to do the project phase ahead.

5. Model excellent time management

Time management can be challenging for remote workers, and many are feeling burnt out as they find difficulties unplugging from work while at home. Managers have it doubly difficult as they’re trying to manage their remote team and their own time. This is complicated even further if your remote employees work across different time zones. Scheduling meetings that work for each employee and understanding when employees are working and when they’re offline can be a headache.

Time management tips

Here are a few quick tips if you’re looking to improve your (or your team’s!) time management in a remote setting:

Make a plan: The goal of planning before execution is to reduce possible errors, define roles and assign tasks, determine objectives and milestones, all of which help reduce the time spent on completing the project. This can apply to any work projects you have as well as your plan for managing your employees.

Limit multitasking: Multitasking is demanding both at the personal and team level. That’s why you need to limit multitasking. Prioritize the tasks that should be done and assign them to team members in a way that reduces burn-out. Limiting multitasking is a top time-saving technique.

Don’t micromanage: As much as we like to take control of every task we assign to people and encourage perfection, it only frustrates team members. Believe in your team members and let them complete tasks the way they feel comfortable. You’d be amazed at how efficiently and timely the task is completed.

Use the right tools: Using the right collaboration tools is a must these days. It’s nearly impossible to use the phone or email all the time for managing projects and completing tasks.

Managing remote employees made easy

When it comes to managing remote employees, thorough training is extremely important. Investing in an employee training program and creating courses with the intention to level up employees’ collaboration skills can make a positive impact on your business’s growth strategy—even when implemented remotely. Use these tips to develop in your remote employees and save yourself from business management stress!

To recap, our five top tips for managing remote employees are:

1. Create employee development plans

2. Clearly outline objectives, milestones, and deliverables

3. Preach prioritization

4. Always remember clear communication and collaboration

5. Model excellent time management

Dear Apple: Don’T Use The Iphone As The Remote For Your Tv

Dear Apple: Don’t Use the iPhone As the Remote for Your TV

Although all of the talk surrounding Cupertino currently centers on Apple’s iPhone, I can’t get the company’s television out of my head. I own an iPhone and have an iPad. And although I’ll likely buy Apple’s next handset, it’s the company’s television that has me drooling.Based on the reports surrounding Apple’s television at the moment, I can all but guarantee that I’ll be buying one. I love the idea of iCloud integration and I firmly believe that it’ll come with an App Store. Better yet, it’ll deliver high-quality visuals that should make its competition reevaluate their future decisions.

The only thing I don’t like hearing, though, is talk of Apple requiring iPhone and iPad owners use their mobile devices to control the television. Yes, it’s a forward-thinking idea, but it’s a bad one.

The fact is, we can use the iPhone and iPad as a remote right now. On my Apple TV, for example, I can control everything the device does with Apple’s nifty Remote app. But that Remote app is designed for a simple box and even simpler functionality. The remote’s featureset just won’t translate to a sophisticated television.

Like it or not, today’s remotes, as ugly and big, and old school as they might be, are a necessary evil. Physical buttons that light up at night make it easy for us to choose a channel, increase the volume, and perform other activities. And with some help from a physical keyboard built into some of those remotes, we can quickly type out just about anything.

[aquote]Using the iPhone as a remote will take us back in time[/aquote]

A touchscreen-based remote, however, tends to fall short. For one thing, we’ll always need to be looking down just to find out what buttons we need to press. And our current practice of sliding our finger over to a button based on muscle memory alone will be gone. Using the iPhone or iPad as a remote in some ways will take us back in time.

That said, I can see some value in using an iDevice to control my new Apple television. I like the idea of using it to type in credentials into an application or even making it a secondary screen that delivers more information than what’s on the television. For example, if I’m watching a baseball game, it would be great if that broadcast shipped over to my iPhone – likely through an additional application running on the handset – some information on the batter, who’s up next, and other key data.

But as a remote, I don’t see much value in the iPhone and iPad. Apple can certainly create some nifty applications and I won’t deny that the company has come up with features that have blown us away. But controlling a television is very basic and needs some physical buttons. A mobile device featuring only a touchscreen just won’t get it done.

Ditch plans for the iDevices controlling your televisions, Apple. The future is still in the past with physical remotes.
