Suggested January 2024 How Creative Cross Training Can Improve Your Writing
As marketers, we often lose sight of the fact that we’re artists. Business is quickly becoming a blend of art, entertainment, and marketing. Creativity plays a huge role in our ability to stand out in such a noisy world. While you don’t have be a great writer to build a popular brand, you do have to be creative. One of the best ways to increase your creativity is with a bit of creative cross training. Creative cross training can allow you to tap into all five senses with your writing. But in order for this to be effective, it can’t be forced. You must embrace your curiosity.
1. Learn to Paint, Draw or SketchA few months ago I came across a blog post by Karen Cheng about teaching yourself web design. One of the recommendations was that you learn how to draw. That intrigued me. So I picked up a book called How to Draw in 30 days. And, amazingly enough, my drawing started to influence my writing (which is my primary creative outlet). Learning how to draw teaches you to look at the world through a very different lens. It teaches you how to see, which in turn impacts your ability to describe things and enable readers to visualize.
2. Learn to Sing“In spite of all communication technologies, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice. When we hear the human voice, we instinctively want to listen, in hopes of understanding it. Even when the speaker is searching for the right words to chúng tôi when all we hear is yelling, or crying, or singing. That’s because the human voice resonates differently from anything else in the world. That’s why we can hear a singer’s voice over the sound of a full orchestra. We will always hear that singer, no matter what else surrounds it.” – Jake Bohm, Character in the TV Show Touch
Part of understanding voice as a writer is to develop an appreciation for how something sounds. That’s why you’ll often hear great writers tell you to read your work out loud. When we hear words out loud, the sound resonates and has an impact on us. Think about music. When you hear somebody singing, the impact on you is often emotional. Learning how to sing can teach you how to hear things. It will give you a deeper appreciation for the sound that words make.
3. Play a Musical InstrumentPlaying a musical instrument is one of the best ways to increase your creative capacity. First, it allows you to use a different part of your brain. It also requires discipline. The quality and consistency of your practice has a direct impact on your performance. What’s interesting is that developing this kind of a habit will bleed into other parts of your life.
4. Learn To CookThis might seem like a strange one, but learning to cook is actually a profound metaphor for writing. In cooking, you use lots of different ingredients to create something delicious. With writing, words are your ingredients and the final product is the dish.
5. Make Something with Your HandsMaking things with your hands allows you to feel things. As writers, what we’re trying to do is make people have a physical experience with words. But if you yourself lack physical experience, how can you use words to describe something? When you mold or make something with your own two hands, you’ll be able to do that with your writing as well. Here a few ways to get started:
Visit the Home Depot web site. There many DIY home improvement projects. At the moment, I’m researching how to build an Adirondack chair.
Go to your local arts and crafts store, like Michael’s. You can do something as simple as assemble a scrap book or build something more intricate.
Check out a book like Keri Smiths Wreck This Journal.
The point is to get your hands on whatever you’re creating. You want to tap into the curiosity you had when you were in the kindergarten classroom.
The most innovative companies in the world are setup like kindergarten classrooms. Playing with different art forms is about having a deeper appreciation for how each one of these impacts the five senses. Creative cross training allows you to bring sound, sight, feeling, taste, and touch into all of your work.

How Event Tracking Can Improve Your Micro And Macro Conversions
What is event tracking and how you can use it to improve micro conversions and macro conversions
Events are then grouped in this report in the ‘Behaviour’ section of Google Analytics.
If you’re a follower of Google’s Avinash Kaushik you will know that it’s important to measure both micro and macro-conversions. Micro-conversions are all about building relationships with your visitors through on site interactions leading to macro-conversions which are commercial outcomes such as subscriptions or sales.
In order to have micro-conversions (or macro-conversions) you need to identify what kind of type of event tracking codes you want to implement on your website. For the use of event tracking codes that will be able to track your micro(or macro) conversions you will need to set the right goals on Google Analytics.
Of course, event tracking code is not just limited to YouTube videos, but also events can be triggered for:
contact forms
Videos
Social follows/share/like/tweets
RSS subscriptions
Newsletter sign ups
Contact forms
Product rating (especially useful for e-commerce sites)
Live chat
Outbound links
Scroll reach/Content Bottom/Page Bottom/Start Reading/Article load
404 pages
Internal banners
Rank tracking
Form completion progress/drop out
Light box conversions
Tracking form errors
Tracking engagement with embedded maps
Tracking video engagement and activity
Organic rank tracking with custom events
Tracking conversion rate optimisation variations
Tracking interactions with custom widgets.
Each of these events can be tracked as a goal in Google Analytics as Dave Chaffey explains in this post giving 17 options for Event goals.
What’s the importance for SEO and Google Analytics? What is the importance of event tracking for us?
Initially, the obvious positive effect of event tracking is to see how users behave and interact within our website for some functions and results that we perceive as crucial within our website, for example lead generation through our contact forms and the sign ups that we have for our site.
Another important and positive impact of event tracking can be based on which elements of our website are functional and which are not. In this way we are able to have a more clear view on which of our elements actually work in terms of conversion optimisation.
If we see that we have a really low number of sign-ups though the form of our website, it’s an opportunity to amend the button (e.g. colour, call-to-action etc.) via A/B testing or Content Experiments.
Segmentation of tracking codeInitially, make sure that you have implemented the tracking snippet to track your website (UA-12345-6) which is a unique number for each website.
The _gaq.push is comprised by two parts: _gaq allows us to queue up tracking, so that _gaq.push() shall not fail.
Category (required): The Category reflects the name in which these objects belong to and you want to track (e.g Contact Us).
Action (required): It is the type of user interaction that actually fires up/triggers the event (e.g Button).
Label (optional): It is used when we have multiple events to track and we want to distinguish one from another (e.g. Try Tool One, Try Tool Two, Try Tool Three etc.)
Value (Optional): It’s an integer which indicates the numerical value of our event. For example, if we believe that each sign-up for our form worths £50, we can assign this numerical value. If we are not sure about the worth of each event then we can set an arbitrary value.
opt_noninteraction (optional): It’s important to bear in mind the correlation of bounce rate and event tracking of the latter to bounce rate. Thus, when it (event tracking) is set to true this means that the event will not be used to affect the site’s bounce rate.
Types and Examples of tracking codesWithout any further ado, let’s review some sample codes which are going to be useful for our site.
In other words, script divides the website into 10 parts (each part corresponds to 10%). Each event is triggered whenever the user goes beyond 10% (first event), 20% (second event) and so forth.
The full version of the script can be found at Dave Taylor’s blog post.

In more detail:
Hats off to Justin Cutroni again, the Google Analytics Evangelist for the provision of this code!
Important tip: For those of you who do not find the use of JavaScript in this way appealing, there’s the alternative of auto-event tracking with Google Tag Manager which actually offers the same results as event tracking but with less code.
I hope my post has opened your eyes to more ways you can use event tracking to make your website more effective! The capabilities of what you can track are limitless…
Can New It Strategies Improve Your Bottom Line?
Fortunately, addressing three basic areas will set almost any organization on the path to cost savings and improved IT efficiency.
1. Refresh the IT infrastructure
A revolution in storage technology is helping forward-looking organizations to simultaneously store more data and lower overall storage costs. Flash is an increasingly popular option thanks to its speed, energy efficiency and reliability.
“Solid-state flash, nonvolatile memory storage, is in your future,” Schulz says. “Although at one point it was mostly reserved for specialized niche or high-performance apps, over the past year or so, we have really seen flash storage turn a corner and hit the mainstream in a big way, mainly due to the compelling economics,” says Brad Parks, HPE’s director of storage and Big Data product marketing. “The benefits are clear — less space, less management, less power, more predictability, greater performance, lower latency.”
A frequently overlooked path to increased IT savings is trimming data center power and cooling consumption. “You can have the most effective, the most efficient systems, but if you have a low-performing power or cooling system, you may offset your savings,” Schulz says. He notes that data center service optimization — the next step in efficient data center infrastructure management — optimizes energy resources by making them an integral part of data center business planning, cost accounting, energy resource design and management.
Another path organizations are taking to lower the cost of power and cooling, as well as computing and storage resources, is transitioning to a hyperconverged infrastructure. An HCI tightly integrates computing, storage, networking and other infrastructure technologies into a commodity hardware box supported by a single vendor.
Machine Learning Streamlines and Supercharges Data Centers Machine learning is becoming a valuable tool for data center operators, helping IT staff to create smarter applications, improve existing services and lower energy costs. A type of artificial intelligence, machine learning automates and accelerates the process of gathering key insights from large and complex data sources. “It does this without being explicitly programmed or being informed where exactly to look or what to conclude,” Thompson says.
Machine learning algorithms have their roots in various research fields, such as statistics, forecasting, data mining, text analytics and optimization. “These algorithms are used with a common goal of optimizing business processes, whether it be customer marketing and service, risk management or manufacturing processes,” Thompson says.
Machine learning applications are often used to cut costs created by fraud or poorly managed supply chains. “In other uses, they can produce new insights that drive revenue through applications that yield a better understanding of customer behavior or reveal new market opportunities,” Thompson says.
2. SAM Fuels Software Consolidation Software asset management solutions give organizations a clear picture of their overall application environment and software spending practices. “SAM solutions first discover, and then track, PCs, servers and other hardware solutions where software is installed,” says Charles King, principal analyst at Pund-IT, a technology research firm. This capability helps organizations ensure that they’re paying for the correct number of software licenses. “At the same time, organizations can follow up on those discovered systems and make certain the employees using them have the software they need,” King says.
SAM tools also help organizations ensure that they’re not wasting money on shelfware — software that goes unused or perhaps is never even installed. “When unused software is reclaimed off of the endpoint, it can be reallocated to another user who needs it,” says Patricia Adams, IT asset management evangelist at LANDESK Software. “This can avoid the expense associated with purchasing a new instance.” Other strategic benefits are SAM’s ability to help organizations discover potentially dangerous shadow IT software and maximize the value of software license terms, such as provisions for support and training. A SAM solution can also smooth the path to Software as a Service (SaaS) deployments, which can be less expensive and easier to manage than onsite solutions.
SAM solutions are also designed to ensure complete lifecycle management, helping organizations to weed out obsolete applications. “Many times, organizations will continue to renew maintenance on apps without validating that they are still strategic to the organization or that they are still widely used,” Adams explains.
SAM Bolsters Security
“SAM tools are effective for tracking the regular distribution and installation of applications and patches, including security solutions,” says Charles King, principal analyst at Pund-IT.
Another way that SAM technology improves security is by identifying out-of-date software. “If the application is strategic to the organization, it will need to retain third-party support to ensure that the application is patched and maintained to reduce security risk,” says Patricia Adams, IT asset management evangelist at LANDESK Software. “It is not unusual to hear of companies that have been hacked through old instances of software that have vulnerabilities.”
3. Subscription IT Purchasing Many organizations save money by acquiring key IT solutions on a subscription basis, including SaaS, Platform as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service offerings. The subscription model provides valuable cost benefits, says Adams. “Many capital costs can be reduced by making the costs part of the operating budget,” she says. “Software upgrades, patches and version updates can all be handled by the supplier at their location, thereby reducing impact to the central IT team, which can continue to work on other higher value projects.” Subscription services also ease the purchasing process and speed up IT rollouts, because organizations don’t have to waste time researching technology, ordering hardware, and then testing, configuring and deploying their investment.

7 Points Of Detail That Can Improve Your Business
Workplace environment
Customers are drawn to companies that make them feel at ease and connected. Attention to detail for the little things in your workplace offers a stronger definition of who you are as a company.
When you have a strong brand that matches the way you present your business, people don’t feel a disconnect between your brand positioning and your employees’ actions. What do you want your work environment to say about your company? Are the brand and environment cohesive?
Two great examples of this concept are your workplace’s decor and tech quality.
Decor: Consider your wall colors and displayed artwork. Your workplace decor sets the tone for customer interactions. Also think about whether to have drinks available for employees or customers.
Tech quality: You may deal with customers via business phone systems and online business meetings. Your technology quality is crucial to how customers perceive your brand, so ensure it’s top-notch and seamless. You should even take care with the backgrounds of your virtual rooms.
Your business’s underlying technologyWhile some tech aspects reflect your workplace environment, behind-the-scenes technology supports your business’s foundation and growth. How you choose and utilize technology can help you stay better connected in business.
Choose employee devices with care. Provide employees with suitable devices to support their work and assist your organization’s efficiency. Ensuring that hardware and software are user-friendly and up to date makes everyday tasks more streamlined while providing data and system security.
Train employees on your business technology. Once you’ve implemented new technology, provide employees with detailed training on its use to create a more cohesive and efficient company.
Tip
Conduct a cybersecurity risk assessment to ensure your network and systems are attack-proof.
Your website and digital platformsYour website and social presence are central to your company’s outreach and branding, so all your digital information must be error-free and cohesive. Website and social copy should be professionally written without spelling or grammatical errors, and the information you provide must be truthful and compelling.
Optimize your website for user experience and accessibility. Your business website affects the customer experience and reflects your brand, especially if you have an online store. Ensure your web design is easy to navigate and follows ADA compliance rules.
Boost your website’s SEO. Ideally, you should also optimize your website search engine ranking with the thoughtful use of relevant keywords. SEO tools can help your site rank as highly as possible.
Eliminate customer frustration on your website. All your links should work, and you should have no grainy or broken images or bad code. Customers should be able to easily get the information they seek without frustration. Have a team member navigate and test your website to spot areas of improvement.
Monitor your social presence. Post frequently and consistently on your social media profiles. Consider hiring a social media manager or designating one employee to focus on social. Pay careful attention to the content you post on social media to avoid embarrassing mistakes.
FinancesYou may be great at your core business, but your company will fail if you don’t closely monitor your finances.
Understand money coming in and going out. Be aware of fixed and variable expenses, sales (historical and projected), market forces (including competition), and, perhaps most importantly, your profit margin.
Compare forecasts to results. Make regular forecasts of company revenue, expenses and cash flow, then evaluate your actual results against your forecasts. This will allow you to plan expenses, cut back, or secure additional financing.
Tip
If you’re not a numbers person, consider hiring a CPA or hiring a bookkeeper to help you manage your finances.
How Aiops Can Improve Efficiency In Federal Government
AIOps is imperative for government agencies endeavoring to match the expectation of their citizen stakeholders.
Given the pace at which new applications are changing the IT scene consistently, it is critical to deploy monitoring systems that ceaselessly track the business impact. It is here that AIOps can have any kind of effect, distinguishing the connections and moving to a predictive mentality that will drive the evolution of enterprise IT and the link between IT and business. Obviously, enterprise leaders know that! A few factors have met up to make way for AIOps. The progress to the cloud has made enterprise IT a convoluted recommendation exacerbated by a distributed and complex multi-cloud environment. Understanding connections and patterns can never again be completed simply through manual methods. Utilizing brilliant mathematics to make inferences and discover connections in real-time isn’t only a favorable position in this circumstance. It is a need. Federal government Security Operations Center (SOC) and Network Operations Center (NOC) teams are overpowered with tools. Handfuls, even hundreds are normal, which are intended to monitor and alert on different systems, applications, behaviors and different elements of the IT enterprise environment. This ordinarily prompts one of two situations: 1. Being overpowered with false positives which desensitize security faculty to authentic alarms, for example, the popular Target Stores breach, or 2. Not getting alerts to authentic concerns/breaks. Likewise, this additionally includes a complex learning curve and dreary upkeep of the most recent software, sensors, and incorporation prerequisites.
ChallengesThe challenge with existing tools is that they frequently neglect to “talk” to one another to share key information in light of a legitimate concern for the improved prediction, relationship, and resolution of occasions, for example, cyber threats and service disruptions. When they do “talk”, they are not doing as such in a manner that performs correlation fast enough, which means basic security issues might be found past the point of no return. Hence, federal agencies utilize scores of SOC/NOC experts who “remain inside their silos,” focused strictly on their own, individual monitoring solutions with no cross-correlating and analysis of the data produced by the tools. These experts frequently encourage an attitude of ownership, which now and again prompts possessiveness and not lending itself to different systems. This “heritage” security operation model can enormously profit by the implementation of processes that integrate machine learning, automation and analytics to expand the predictive value of the tools as an aggregate whole, along these lines picking up enterprise-wide IT visibility. Another challenge is the surge of big business, operational and mission-driven information that IT must manage, as different public-sector agencies incorporate complex datasets from various divisions and private partners. By utilizing AIOps, users can assemble a data model that sources information from different systems and definitive data sources to identify irregularities in the behavior of applications and IT foundation. Alerts will persistently screen the strength of the environment and diminish the noise by analyzing alert patterns to sift through false positives, empowering chiefs to prioritize where action needs to be taken. AIOps is promptly accessible to government customers through various agreement vehicles, including DISA ENCORE III, FAA eFast, GSA Schedule 70, Seaport-e, and the C5 Consortium Other Transaction Agreement (OTA). To position an agency for success here, we suggest these basic segments/steps: • Control and management of AIOps solutions and services and services in a multi-occupant climate with a coordinated exhibit of best-fit commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. • Detail-driven project management wherein each action is started, planned and controlled to meet in general objectives within agreed-upon time and budget constraints • Framework integration that is verified before new capacities are implemented • Compliance with all security prerequisites and guidelines • Guidance sets and training plans for new features By producing increased efficiency and effectiveness through AIOps use cases, federal government CIOs can start to explore the value of smart IT activities to anticipate and forestall cyberattacks, process increasing call center volumes and manage IT operations information.
Can Ai Writing Tools Replace A Professional Essay Writer?
AI is replacing every other task, but can it replace creativity with writing?
Artificial intelligence writing tools are designed to analyze text and then write an essay on any chosen topic. These programs can complete several tasks, including selecting keywords for the piece, organizing information according to argumentative structure, adding transition words between paragraphs, and distinguishing between facts and opinions to avoid mistakes like misspelling or incorrect tense. Most AI writing tools work in a similar way: you enter a topic, and the program provides you with a thesis statement. You then need to input the supporting points for that thesis, and the AI tool will generate an essay based on your information and you can buy essays through this.
The Pros and Cons of Using AI Tools for Essay Writing There are several benefits to using AI tools for essay writing:
Time-saving: AI tools can save you a lot of time when it comes to essay writing. Rather than spending hours brainstorming topics, gathering information, and drafting an essay, you can simply enter a few ideas, and the essay should be completed within minutes.
Free from bias: AI writing tools won’t insert their own opinions into an essay, as they are programmed only to gather the information you input and write it out in a logical format.
Easily shareable: Since AI tools don’t require human input, you can easily copy and paste their essays into other programs.
Lack of creativity: Although they can generate ideas for you to start with, AI tools aren’t programmed to come up with original ideas on their own. This means that you’ll likely need outside help if you want an engaging introduction or conclusion.
Unable to complete complex tasks independently: As great as they are at organizing information in a logical way, AI tools still aren’t able to write creative essays without human intervention. You’ll still need additional expertise to edit the final draft and provide feedback on how well the final essay meets your assignment requirements.
Increased potential for plagiarism: If you use different parts of other essays to complete your piece, there is a greater chance that those sources will not be cited correctly or at all. These programs do not understand how human language works, so they cannot connect various pieces of a text, nor can they recognize what fact or fiction is. To avoid being accused of plagiarism, students need to better understand writing styles and learn how to cite their sources properly.
Should You Consider Hiring a Professional Essay Writer Instead of Just Using AI Tools? When it comes to writing essays, there are some tasks that an AI tool will never be capable of completing—mainly those that involve creativity, problem-solving, and an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of human language. For this reason, we cannot replace professional writers with AI tools — at least not yet! However, if you struggle to complete your deadlines and don’t have much time for research and brainstorming topics, an AI writing tool can help you get started. Just remember that your final draft won’t come out perfect; you’ll still need someone who specializes in essay writing to fix grammatical errors and give feedback on how well your essay meets the assignment requirements. So, if you’re asking yourself whether or not you should hire a professional
How to Find the Best Professional Essay Writers for Your EssaysWhen looking for a professional
Check the company’s website: A reputable essay help service will have a well-designed website that includes information about their team of writers, their services, and their pricing.
Read reviews: Once you’ve narrowed down your list of potential dissertation writing services, be sure to read reviews from past clients. This will give you a good idea of the quality of service that you can expect and the overall writing process.
Ensure that your writer is certified: Most essay writing services require their writers to hold a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in addition to passing a number of tests. This means that they should be capable of producing high-quality work on topics within their academic field.
