Suggested March 2024 How To Delete Touch Bar Data From Macbook Pro With Touch Bar
The Touch Bar equipped MacBook Pro stores additional data for the Touch Bar and Touch ID sensor that is not erased by default if you format a Mac or reinstall MacOS system software. Thus, if you want to completely clear out and erase all Touch Bar data, you will need to manually intervene via a multi-step process to clear out Touch Bar specific data from those MacBook Pro models.
This is obviously only applicable to Macs with the Touch Bar, and it’s probably only appropriate if you plan on erasing the Mac anyway, reinstalling MacOS, resetting a Mac to factory settings, or some other similar situation where you either want all personal data removed from the Mac, or you are going to be selling a Mac or transferring ownership, or even sending it in for service. Aside from those situations there is likely no need to ever delete or erase Touch Bar data on the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, and attempting to do so can lead to unintended problems or data loss. How to Erase Touch ID Data on MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
Want to clear out all Touch ID information and configuration data from a Mac with Touch Bar? Remember, this may cause data loss therefore only do this if you intend to erase all data on the Mac. Perform this action at your own risk.
Here’s how to erase Touch Bar data on a recently erased Mac:
Restart the Mac and immediately hold down Command + R keys to boot into Recovery Mode
At the “MacOS Utilities” screen, pull down the “Utilities” menu and choose “Terminal”
At the command line, type the following and then hit return:
Type “yes” when asked if you want to proceed
Pull down the Apple menu and choose “Restart” to reboot the Mac as usual, or proceed with other tasks like reinstalling macOS or formatting the mac if desired
Once the Mac has restarted the Touch Bar data will be removed.
As mentioned earlier, on newer Macs any remaining data on the Mac may be rendered inaccessible and therefore this should only be performed after the Mac has been reset, if at all.
And yes you must boot the Mac from Recovery Mode (or Internet Recovery) to accomplish this task, thus you may want to do it before resetting a Mac to factory default settings or performing other similar maneuvers to reinstall Mac OS or to completely erase the computer.
Note this is erasing Touch Bar data, it is NOT force refreshing Touch Bar on the Mac and thus is really not a troubleshooting step, though it’ll undoubtedly be used as one for some unusual Touch Bar situations.
For those wondering, if you try to run this command on a Mac that does not have a Touch Bar it will not work, because there is no Touch Bar. You will get an error like the following:
“xartutil: ERROR: this hardware does not support the xART recovery service”
Many Mac users likely don’t know that the Touch Bar has separate data storage that is Touch Bar specific, but Apple confirms this with an article here.

The Touch Bar is the flagship feature for the new MacBook Pro. It’s a small touch surface that offers dynamically changing content based on the current app you’re using.
The Touch bar is simple to use, but it’s somewhat deeper than it may appear at first. In this walkthrough video, we’ll discuss 15 tips and tricks for the new MacBook Pro Touch Bar to help you get started. How to show function keys
To show the traditional F1, F2, etc. keys, simply hold the Function (fn) key in the bottom left-hand corner of the keyboard to reveal them. These keys can be revealed within any app at any time. How to always show function keys for specific apps
You can quickly show the normal function keys by pressing and holding the Function (fn) key on the keyboard. But what if there’s an app that requires you to use standard function keys often?
With this setting enabled for a specific app, function keys will be displayed by default while using that app. If you press and hold the Function key while using this app, the expanded Control Strip options on the Touch Bar will be revealed.Video walkthrough

macOS allows you to interface with both the trackpad and the Touch Bar simultaneously. This means that you can do things like move a shape in Pixelmator while, at the same time, changing its color or the size of its border.Take screenshots of the Touch Bar
Zac provided us with an excellent how-to that shows how to create Touch Bar screenshots. To use this functionality, you’ll need to run macOS 10.12.2 Beta 3 or later. It’s now available for public beta testers.Make Siri listen
When invoking Siri via the Touch Bar, you can touch and hold the Siri key to make it listen to your commands for the duration of your touch.Persistent media scrubber
When playing media on your MacBook Pro, you’ll notice a persistent media scrubber in the Touch Bar. This scrubber is present when playing music via iTunes, Safari videos, QuickTime videos, etc. You can even use it to scrub through YouTube videos while watching via Safari.
What makes the scrubber nice is that it is always available when eligible media is playing, even if that media isn’t a part of the top-most window. No matter where you are on your Mac, you’ll see a handy media key on the left side of the Control Strip in the Touch Bar area. Simply tap that key to reveal media controls. You can use the Touch Bar on a Boot Camp Windows installation
When used with Windows, the Touch Bar will display basic controls for things like keyboard brightness, screen brightness and volume. You also get access to the Escape key and pressing and holding the physical Function (fn) key will reveal a set of 12 function keys. You won’t of course, gain any of the other dynamic benefits that the Touch Bar is known for in macOS.Conclusion

Bar graphs can be extremely helpful when it comes to visualizing data. They can display one set of data or compare multiple data sets.
In this article, we’ll go over how to make various types of bar graphs in Google Sheets.
Table of ContentsHow to Create a Bar Graph in Google Sheets
Add at least one column of data. Enter a label in the first cell of the second column, and add the data in the cells beneath it.
Next, follow these steps to insert a bar graph to represent your data.
Whichever method you choose, Google will insert a bar graph into your sheet. (Google calls it a column chart. This is the same thing.)Making a Bar Graph with Multiple Data in Google Sheets
To make a bar graph that includes multiple sets of data, just add more columns of data.
Follow the same steps as above to insert a bar graph representation of your data.
In this case, Google uses the categories in the first row of data as the chart title.Making a Stacked Bar Graph in Google Sheets
When you use multiple data sets, you can show the part-to-whole relationships in your data by opting for what’s called a stacked bar chart. In our example above, the chart showed how many books each person read in a particular month. If we switch the bar graph to a stacked bar chart, we’ll see how many books each person read that month compared to the total number of books everyone read that month.
There are a couple different flavors of stacked bar charts. First we’ll look at the Standard stacked bar chart.
Under Stacking, choose Standard.
Now you’ll see the values of each category stacked into single bars.
Alternatively, instead of Standard, you can choose 100% to make a stacked bar chart that depicts the ratio of individual data to the whole. Use this when the cumulative total isn’t important.
So for our example, we might not care how many books were read in total each month—only how many books each person read relative to other people.
Notice that in the 100% Stacked Bar Chart above, the labels along the x axis are now percentages. How to Swap Columns & Rows in a Chart
Using our example, let’s say you want to make it easy to visualize how each person’s reading habits changed from month to month. Google Sheets makes it easy to turn your columns into rows and vice versa.
Our regular bar graph now looks like this:
If we switch rows and columns on our stacked bar chart, it will look like this:
You can see that each of these different options is ideal for telling a particular story about our data. Think about what story you want to tell, and determine which kind of bar graph most clearly makes your point.Customizing Bar Graphs in Google Sheets
You may have noticed the Customize tab in the Chart Editor.
Select that tab to change the look and feel of your chart. Next we’ll go through each section of the Customize tab.
Chart style allows you to choose the background color, border color, and font for your chart. If you don’t like the changes you made, you can always select the Reset layout button to start over.
Checking the Maximize box will decrease the white space in your chart. Try it and see if you like what you see.
Selecting the 3D box will make your bars three-dimensional, like this:
Compare mode will highlight comparable data when you hover your mouse over different elements of your chart. In the chart below, notice how the November data (the top-most section of each stacked bar) is highlighted.
The Chart & axis titles section is another place you can change the chart title as well as its font, font size, format (italics, bold, etc.), and text color.
In the Series section, you can change the appearance of your series labels. In our case, that’s the months and their corresponding parts of the bar graph. For example, you could change the November data from yellow to gray.
In the Legend section, you can change the legend font, font size, format, and text color.
The Horizontal axis and Vertical axis sections offer similar options for formatting labels on each of your chart’s axes.
Finally, Gridlines and ticks is a relatively new feature (as of June 2023) allowing you to emphasize parts of your axes by inserting tick marks, formatting them, and setting the spacing between them.Google Sheets Makes Bar Graphs Easy
Now you know almost all there is to know about making a bar graph in Google Sheets. If you’d like to learn more ways to use Google Sheets, read about the 5 Google Sheets Script Functions You Need to Know.

Xbox is one of Windows 10’s default apps. This app integrates the Xbox with Windows and includes a handy Game Bar, but some can’t open it on Windows 10.
This Game Bar is a built-in tool you can use to take snapshots. It is also one of the best screen recording tools to use on your Windows PC. To open the Game Bar, you only need to press the Windows key + G with a window selected. So, let’s find out all about it.Why won’t Xbox game bar open?
If the Game Bar is not opening on Windows 10 and Windows + G is not working, it might be because you altered the shortcut that opens the tool.
Also, the issue might be down to the Game Bar settings on your PC. Lastly, some registry settings can make the tool fail to work on your PC.
Moreover, some of them may be applied even when facing the following issues:
Xbox Game Bar shortcut not working – Windows + G not opening Game Bar: If pressing the Windows key + G makes no difference, it’s time to check your Xbox Game Bar settings.
Xbox Game Bar keeps turning off – Xbox Game Bar turns itself off
: Chances are you need to use Game Mode, but the Game Bar repeatedly turns off. If so, edit the registry and change AllowGameDVR to 1.
Game DVR not working Windows 10: This is just a variation of the original issue, but if you encounter it, you should be able to solve it with the solutions from this article.

The Game Bar is usually enabled by default on your PC. But you can still follow the steps above to check if it is active. How do I fix my Xbox game bar when it’s not working? 1. Check the Game bar’s Settings
It might be the case that the Game Bar Record game clips and screenshots setting is switched off in Windows 10.
Then the Game Bar isn’t going to open when you press its hotkey. So, you can check that option as described above.2. Edit the Registry
You can also switch the Game Bar via the registry.3. Don’t Run the Games in Full-Screen Mode
Is it the case that the Game Bar is not opening when you’re running a game on full screen? The Game Bar doesn’t open in full-screen modes because most games don’t recognize the Windows key + G hotkey.
That doesn’t mean you can’t use the Game Bar’s options in full-screen mode, but the overlay UI isn’t going to open. You can still record a game with the Windows + Alt + R hotkey or take a snapshot by pressing Windows + Alt + PrtScr.
Run the game in window mode and press the Windows key + G to open the Game Bar UI.4. Check the Xbox app’s Hotkey Settings
Check the Game Bar hotkeys haven’t been reconfigured in any way. The Xbox app enables users to customize the hotkeys so that somebody might have tinkered with the keyboard shortcut settings.
You can check the Game Bar hotkeys as described above.5. Install the Windows Media Feature Pack
Windows 10 N and KN versions don’t include all the media technologies and apps in more standard editions.
So if your platform is a Windows 10 N edition, that might be why the Game Bar isn’t opening for you.
Several apps need Windows Media files not included in Windows 10 KN or N.
However, you can install the media-related technologies otherwise lacking in Windows 10 N with the Windows Media Feature Pack.6. Reinstall the Xbox Game Bar through Powershell
If you were wondering how do I reinstall Xbox game bar, deleting the app via PowerShell and then downloading it from the Microsoft Store is the easiest way to go.
After running this command, the Xbox app will be removed from your PC. You must open the Microsoft Store app and download the Xbox app again.
Once you download it, the problem with the Game bar should be entirely resolved.7. Turn the Game Bar off and on
If you are wondering how do I fix my Xbox game bar not popping up, simply turning the Game bar off and on or updating the OS should work. This is a temporary workaround, but it might help you with this issue.
After that, the Game Bar should start working again. Remember that this is just a temporary workaround, and if you encounter issues with the Game Bar, you’ll need to repeat this solution.8. Create a new user account
According to users, problems with the Game Bar can occur if your user profile is damaged or corrupted. However, you might be able to fix the problem simply by creating a new user account.
To do that, you need to follow these simple steps from above. After creating a new user account, switch to it, and check if that solves your problem.
If the problem doesn’t appear on the new account, you need to move all your files to the new account and use it instead of your old account.9. Use third-party solutions
If you can’t fix the problem with the Game Bar, you might want to consider using third-party software.
Although the Game Bar comes preinstalled with Windows 10, it has certain limitations, and if you can’t get it to work correctly, you might want to try some other Windows 10 screen recording software.
If you’re looking for a different application to record your screen and gameplay sessions, we strongly recommend trying Icecream Screen Recorder.
This tool is straightforward and offers certain features that the Game Bar lacks, so feel free to try it out.
Speaking about recording issues, one particular topic caught our attention, and we would like to share it quickly with you. What can I do if Xbox Game Bar is not opening on Windows 11?
If the Game Bar is not opening on Windows 11, it might be because you have not enabled it from the settings. You can follow the steps in this guide to activate the tool.
Also, it might be down to some glitches with the tool. Disabling and enabling the tool after some minutes should solve this. Lastly, you can apply any fixes in this guide to solve the problem.Xbox Game Bar stops recording when switching Windows
While many users struggle with the Xbox Game Bar not recording, others only encounter this issue when switching between apps or using the Alt + Tab key combination in the browser. You can fix this by updating the tool by following the steps below:
To do that, open the Windows Update settings from the Start menu.

I debated over it for a while, but I just couldn’t resist ordering a brand new 6th generation iPod touch after looking at the specs of the device. The new iPod touch, despite not changing much from a use-case standpoint, is quite the compelling device.
When you consider how underpowered the previous generation iPod touch was, this really is a major upgrade. You’re essentially getting an iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus level 64-bit A8 system on a chip (SoC) with its M8 motion coprocessor, along with double the RAM at 1GB.
The SoC and RAM alone would be enough to blow the previous iPod touch, which is downright painful to use on iOS 8, out of the water, but Apple has included significant improvements to the iSight Camera—bumped up from 5 megapixels to 8 megapixels—there’s faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi, an upgrade to Bluetooth 4.1, a 128GB storage capacity option, and more.
Make no mistake, the iPod touch 6th generation is more powerful than some of the lower tier phones hitting the market today. If you’re serious about gaming, photos, and video, but don’t need the capabilities of a phone, then the iPod touch 6th generation might be considered a bargain.Initial impressions
To blatantly showcase the fact that I got a new iPod touch, I opted for the most outlandish (and best) color—pink. As you can see, the iPod touch 6th generation features the beauty (hah) to go along with the brains. I thoroughly enjoy the new pink colorway, as it makes the device stand out among the boring colors associated with the more serious Apple products.
You’ll also notice that the device now lacks the retractable nub for the iPod touch loop strap found on the old 5th generation iPod touch. I think most of you will agree that this is an improvement. I don’t know anyone who thought the iPod touch loop was a great idea.
From a visual design standpoint, everything else is pretty much identical to the 5th generation iPod touch. It still rocks the same 4″ screen of the iPod touch 5g, and it also has the same form factor and chamfered edges of the outgoing model. Apple has basically taken the power of the iPhone 6 and shoehorned it into the svelte body of a 5th generation iPod touch.
It’s hard not to be at least a little bit disappointed that the size wasn’t bumped up to match the iPhone 6’s 4.7″ screen, but I’m sure that Apple has its reasonings for sticking with the same 4″ form factor of the outgoing model. Perhaps this means that we’ll see a return of the 4″ iPhone form-factor as some have speculated?
The end result is a brand new device that feels familiar to the hands, but brand new to the senses. The sheer power increase brought upon by the presence of the A8 SoC is instantly noticeable, but it’s the RAM increase that is perhaps the biggest win for the 6th generation effort. Not only is the new iPod touch significantly quicker at executing tasks, playing games, taking photos and videos, and playing media, it can also handle multitasking in a way that previous iterations of the device could only dream of.Models & pricing
As stated, I opted for the 16GB pink version of the iPod touch 6th-gen, but there are several other colors and storage capacities to select from. Here is a look at all of the available models.
The iPod touch 6th-gen is available in the following colors: Silver, Gold, Space Gray, Blue, Pink, and Gold. The Silver, and Space Gray colors are the incumbent colors, with the Blue, Pink, and Gold colors being new to the lineup. There is one additional color—the Product Red version—that’s exclusively available through Apple.
Storage capacity is very familiar, but the iPod touch does get an Apple Store-exclusive 128GB storage capacity, which lends the iPod touch the same max storage capacity as its bigger brothers. Here are the storage capacities along with the price for each capacity:Specifications
Seeing that the iPod touch 6th gen is a big leap forward for iPods, I took the time to highlight some of the device’s specifications. Although this device has many improvements over its predecessor, I’ve bolded some of the more notable improvements.
Although benchmarks prove that the new iPod touch is actually clocked slower than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it’s still no slouch when it comes to speed. It features the A8 chip, and the same amount of RAM as the current-gen iPhone.
The iSight camera is 8-megapixel, just like the iSight camera in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Granted, the camera in the iPod touch isn’t quite as good as it is in the iPhone—pixels don’t tell the whole story—but it’s still a leap over the outgoing iPod touch.Real world usage
Specs are one thing, but actually seeing and feeling a difference is what it’s all about. You guys know how many times I’ve complained about the 5th generation iPod touch—how painful it is to use, how unbearably slow it is, and how much I dread any time I’m forced to use it. Throw all of that out of the window with the 6th-generation iPod touch. This thing is very fast, and handled nearly everything I threw at it with ease.
Browsing the web is smooth, playing intense modern games is no problem, and multitasking is so much better than it was before. As I’ve stated several times before, this is a major upgrade, and it absolutely feels like one while using it.Benchmarks
For the following benchmark tests, I used Geekbench to calculate single core and multicore performance for the iPod touch 5th gen, 6th gen, and the iPhone 6 Plus. Note how, even though both the iPod touch 5th-gen and the iPhone 6/6 Plus share the A8 SoC, the iPhone 6 is clocked higher.iPod touch 6th generation iPod touch 5th generation iPhone 6 Plus Vs. iPod touch 5th generation
It’s safe to say that the new iPod touch runs circles around the old iPod touch. It’s faster in every way, because it has a current-generation processor, more RAM, and a better camera.
Games load way faster and feature more consistent frame-rates with the 6th-gen iPod touch. Since the A8 chip is compatible with Metal, developers can enhance their games to feature better graphics.
Virtually everything else about the 6th generation iPod touch is really similar to the 5th-gen iPod touch. The form factor is exactly the same, down to virtually every detail. As mentioned, the new iPod does eschew the silly iPod loop nub, but that’s the only visual difference you’ll discern.Shortcomings
Although the 6th generation iPod touch is leaps and bounds better than the previous model, it still has plenty of opportunities for improvement.
First and foremost, I wish that Apple would have adopted the iPhone 6’s 4.7″ screen. After using an iPhone 6 Plus for the past year, the 4″ form-factor feels downright minuscule.
Outside of the size of the screen, the quality of the screen is still well below the screen quality found on the iPhone line. It’s an IPS display, but colors often look washed out. I’m pretty sure that a lot of that has to do with the 800:1 contrast ratio. The iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6 feature contrast ratios of 1400:1 and 1300:1 respectively.
For whatever reason, Apple declined to add Touch ID to this device. I didn’t think I would miss Touch ID on an iPod, but I found myself trying to use it out of habit. Touch ID is so convenient, I don’t like the idea of always having to use a passcode to unlock my device and make purchases.
Lastly, while the iPod touch 6th generation features a current CPU, it’s under-clocked when compared to the A8 processors in the iPod lineup. This is evident, as processor intensive games will suffer from the occasional frame-rate dip, and the Geekbench benchmarks make it readily apparent that there’s still a fairly significant gap between this device and the iPhone.Should you buy it?
If you’re a gamer, the iPod touch is a compelling handheld game console. With the adoption of the A8 SoC and Metal, it’s able to handle all of the latest envelop-pushing games with ease.
If you’re a young person who can’t get their hands on an iPhone, then the iPod touch 6th generation is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Not only can it do games, but it can run all of the popular iOS apps like Facebook, Snapchat, Whatsapp, Periscope, and more.
Lastly, if you need a second test device, and don’t want to drop the money it takes to acquire a second iPhone, the iPod is a viable alternative. The 5th generation iPod touch is still being supported under Apple’s Developer program, and it’s likely that this device will be supported for years to come.
The iPod touch 6th generation is not without its flaws, but at its price-point, it’s good enough. It’s miles ahead of the previous version from a performance perspective, and has enough new features to be deemed a worthy upgrade.
What do you think? Would you consider buying an iPod touch 6th generation?
