Suggested January 2024 How To Download Instagram Videos
I really like Instagram. With it you can easily share images and videos with your friends. The fact that you’re able to share these things on this platform isn’t even the coolest thing. The coolest thing is the fact that some people make some seriously creative and funny things in 15 second video form. And believe me, there’s no shortage of videos being made. One day you may be scrolling through your feed and think “I wish I could download this.” Or you may have created a new Instagram account and you’re interested in backing up all of your videos. Well, you can!
Download video one at a timeTo download an Instagram video, first you’ll need its URL. Head over to the Instagram profile that the video is located on and copy it to your clipboard. Once you’ve got the Instagram video’s URL, head over to this website. Once at the website, paste the Instagram video link into the video URL box on the page. Doing so will generate a file for you that starts downloading automatically.
Note: if you wish to have the video you want to download sent to your email, put your email into the email box on the page.
Download automatically with “If This Then That”Selecting Google Drive as an action channel will reveal several actions to choose from. Find and select “Upload from URL.”
From now on, every time you like a video on Instagram, IFTTT will go out and download it and save it to your Google Drive account. If you decide that you don’t like this recipe, just go to the “My Recipes” section in IFTTT and delete the video downloading recipe.
Note: it’s possible to follow the same steps and send your videos to Dropbox instead of Google Drive. Just choose Dropbox as an action channel instead of Google Drive in the setup process.
ConclusionSocial media and short video clips go together very well. It just so happens that in the world of social media, Instagram is one of the best ways to share these short video clips. I hope that with this guide you’ll find even more ways to share a short fifteen second video clip online. Enjoy!

How To Use Instagram Reels To Create Or View Videos
Instagram has finally extended the availability of Instagram Reels to more global markets including India. What is Instagram Reels, you may ask? Well, Instagram Reels is Facebook’s answer to TikTok, a short-video app. Now that we have access to Reels, we will discuss everything you want to know about Instagram’s foray into short video space.
In this article, we will guide you on how to get started with Instagram Reels, in addition to discovering Reels content and creating Reels to share with your followers.
What is Instagram ReelsAre you an Instagram influencer? If your answer is yes, Instagram Reels is simply made for you.
Three words Short, crisp, and entertaining explain Reels. If you love watching or short, crisp, and entertaining videos from your Favorite ‘social media celebrity,’ then Reels is a perfect place for you. Not just watching, you can also create your own videos, add effects, filters, music from a huge library of songs on Instagram, among other things. That’s what Reels is all about.
If I still have to describe Instagram Reels in one sentence, Instagram Reels is to TikTok what Instagram Stories is to Snapchat.
Instagram Reels is also Facebook and Instagram’s attempt to challenge TikTok’s legacy and dominance in the short-video space. Facebook continues to feel threatened by the way TikTok has emerged as one of the most-popular non-gaming apps worldwide in such a short span. For whatever reasons Reels exists, let’s see how you can get started with it.
How to use Instagram ReelsGetting started with Instagram Reels involves a two-step approach: Content creation and content consumption
How to discover and watch Instagram ReelsMany people struggle at finding ways to watch Instagram Reels in the first place. This article will help you discover Reels, in addition to several ways to interact with it. Getting started with Reels is fairly simple.
Make sure your Instagram app is up-to-date. Android and iOS users can go to Google Play and App Store, respectively. See if your Instagram app has received an update. Even if you haven’t received an update, you should still see Reels. Keeping the app updated is a good practice, to begin with.
Now that you are all set, just go to Instagram. There are a couple of ways you can find Reels. First up, the Explore Tab. You can navigate to the Explore tab by tapping the ‘Search’ option at the bottom of your Instagram app. Remember, you don’t have to search for anything. Just tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom.
The first video you see in the Explore tab is Reels. You will also find a small watermark for ‘Reels’ at the bottom left corner of the video. That’s how you know you are looking at Reels. Once you tap the video, you will be taken into a whole new world of Instagram Reels. All you need to do is swipe up to watch more Reels.
Unlike stories, Reels won’t disappear after 24-hours of their creation and they have a permanent place in your Reels tab unless you specifically choose to delete them.
How to create with Instagram ReelsAre you looking to post to Instagram Reels? Believe me, it’s a fairly simple process. All you need to do is tap the camera icon. Then, discover and select Reels at the bottom. You will come across a page that says ‘Create With Reels. Record and edit short videos and share them to Explore, where anyone may discover them.’ Sounds fairly simple, right?
Now, tap the ‘Get Started’ option at the bottom. But before you get started, remember that anyone can create Reels using your original audio if your account is public. Hence, be sure about what you are getting into. If you are privacy conscious, make sure that Instagram profile is set to ‘Private’ under settings.
Once you tap ‘Get Started,’ you will be taken right into Instagram’s camera viewfinder. There, you can switch between the front and rear camera, depending on what you want to record in your short video. On the left-hand side, you will find different options to edit your video. First things first, hit the record button at the bottom. Once you are done recording a video, you can always edit it the way you want.
On the left-hand side, you can add music to your videos, select speed, set timer up to 5 seconds, among other things. You can also add several effects and filters to your videos before posting them as Reels.
Once you have created a Reel, the next task is to share it with your followers. Similar to posts and IGTV videos, you can add a caption and hashtags to Instagram Reels. You can also check the option if you wish to share your Reel to feed. Interestingly enough, Instagram also provides creators with an option to set a custom thumbnail cover to their Reel.
Ways to interact with Instagram Reels What if I don’t see Instagram Reels? There are a few reasons why you may not be able to find Reels in your Instagram. First of all, Instagram Reels is currently not available for everyone.
At the time of writing this article, Instagram Reels is limited to select regions including India, Brazil, France, and Germany. If you are located in a region where Instagram hasn’t launched Reels yet, you won’t be able to access Reels.
9 Ways To Upload Instagram Photos, Videos Without Compression Or Losing Quality
Instagram uses its proprietary algorithm to apply compression to everything you upload. This is done:
To reduce the load on the server
To speed up the load times
To improve user experience
Instagram Guidelines for High-Quality PhotosInstagram will upload the photo in its original resolution as long as you’re following the guidelines given below.
Use the latest version of the Instagram app.
Upload photos up to a width of at least 1080 pixels with an aspect ratio between 1.91:1 and 4:5.
Make sure you’re using a good quality camera because each phone has different quality cameras.
If you upload a picture with super high quality, Instagram will compress it to reduce the width to 1080 pixels. At the same time, if you upload a low-quality image, it will enlarge the image to a width of 320 pixels which again can mess with the clarity.
Instagram Guidelines for High-Quality VideosFollow the recommended guidelines to upload videos without losing quality on Instagram.
In-feed Video Posts
Aspect ratio: Landscape (1.91:1), Square (1:1), Vertical (4:5)
Minimum resolution: 600 x 315 pixels (1.91:1 landscape) / 600 x 600 pixels (1:1 square) / 600 x 750 pixels (4:5 vertical)
Maximum file size 4GB, maximum length 60 seconds, maximum frame rate 30fps
IGTV Videos
Aspect ratio: Vertical/portrait (9:16)
Minimum resolution: 600 X 1067 pixels
Recommended size: 1080 X 1920 pixels
The maximum size for short videos (10 minutes or less) is 650MB
The maximum size for videos up to 60 minutes is 3.6GB
Story Videos
Aspect ratio: Vertical/portrait (9:16)
Minimum resolution: 720p (720 X 1280)
Recommended size: 1080 X 1920 pixels
Videos should have a minimum frame rate of 30fps
You can scale down your image size upfront to stop Instagram from applying compression. If your photo measures 4000 x 4000 pixels, scale it down to 1080 x 1080 pixels.
By default, Instagram reduces the video upload quality to suit network conditions. Here’s how you can turn it off to always upload high-quality reels and IG videos:
1. Open the Instagram app on your Android or iPhone.
2. Tap the profile icon at the bottom right.
5. Here, enable the toggle for Upload at highest quality.
Method 5- Record & Upload Reels in 4K 60FPS and HDR1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
4. Next, go back, tap Record Video, and set it to 4K at 60fps.
5. On the same page, enable the toggle for HDR Video.
Once you upload the reel recorded in the above settings, the HDR status may disappear after some time. This is because Instagram takes time to process HDR videos- once it’s done, the status will return. The video you uploaded will look smoother thanks to a higher refresh rate and appear brighter due to HDR.
When recording a non-HDR video on your iPhone, turn off high-efficiency mode and switch to the “Most Compatible” format instead. The high-efficiency mode applies higher compression to reduce the file size, and as a result, the most compatible format looks marginally better upon nitpicking.
1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap Camera.
The iPhone will record in High Efficiency by default when shooting cinematic, slow-mo, or HDR videos.
You can’t really get rid of compression while uploading high-quality videos on Instagram. However, you can compress the video yourself while keeping the maximum quality possible so that Instagram does not compress it further or reduce the quality.
If you have shot the video in 4K, compress it to 1080p manually in the best possible manner since Instagram does not support 4K yet.
If videos are longer than a minute, it’d be better to upload them as IGTV instead of regular in-feed videos. If they’re short, you can still upload them as IGTV by looping the video or adding blank footage. Here are some easy ways to reduce video file size on mobile phones and PC.
If you’re transferring photos and videos from PC to phone or vice versa, ensure they’re not being compressed during the transfer.
If you have an iPhone and Mac, use AirDrop. Otherwise, use services like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. You can also send photos and videos without compression via Telegram. If using WhatsApp to transfer photos, send them as documents.
