Stunning graphics is a must for all horror games, so high-quality and detailed images create a realistic gaming experience and help send shivers down your spine. In order to enjoy perfect Outlast 2 graphics, follow the recommendations below. In this article, you’ll learn what graphics settings to use for optimal results and what workarounds you can use to fix various Outlast 2 graphics issues.

Outlast 2 graphics settings

Textures

Try not to use larger textures than your RAM/VRAM can handle in order to avoid poor graphics performance.

Systems running Direct3D 10 should be restricted to low or lower.

Systems having 1GB of VRAM or less should be restricted to medium or lower.

Anisotropic filtering is available from 1x to 16x. Your video card might limit filtering to a lower value if it is not supported.

Shadow Quality

Using high values for shadow quality will require your video card to do more work. Direct3D 10 hardware should use low settings, meaning that shadows will be half the resolution (512).

Medium: Shadow will use the default resolution (1024) while High: Shadows double the resolution (2048).

Geometry Quality

Systems with low/mid-range CPUs should restrain from using high settings to reduce CPU strain.

Here’s what each setting does:

Low: Objects will use low polygon version more often and decals will disappear quite close to the camera.

Medium: Balanced draw distance.

High: Draw distances and geometry detail is greatly increased.

Fog

Restrain from using high settings unless your computer is equipped with a hi-range graphics card. Direct3D 10.0 hardware should use a lower quality version of the fog. Using high settings will add a lot of pressure on your GPU and only make a subtle difference anyway.

Effects

Direct3D 10 hardware should use the low settings for effects.

Anti-Aliasing

The game devs recommend using Temporal Anti-aliasing on all computers.

V-Sync

Running Outlast 2 without vertical sync might create tearing, but will allow you to run at a frame rate independent of your monitor refresh rate.

Enable and then disable V-Sync for testing purposes and then choose the option that yields the best results.

It is worth mentioning that when playing in windowed or borderless full-screen mode, Windows may enforce V-Sync.

Triple Buffering

Triple buffering allows you to run Outlast 2 with V-Sync enabled and without tearing, at a frame-rate relatively independent of you monitor. However, keep in mind that this comes with high input latency.

Expert tip:

Now, if your PC meets all the system requirements, use the following graphics settings:

Resolution: 1920×1080 (or closest native or recommended resolution)

Texture Quality: Very High

Texture Filtering: 1x (or slightly higher)

Shadows: Medium

Geometry: Medium

Fog: Medium

Anti-Aliasing: Temporal

Effects: High

Direct3D 10 PCs graphics issues

Bear in mind that if your video card doesn’t support Direct3D 11 (Shader Model 5.0), some graphical options will be disabled and the game will run at an overall lower quality.

If your CPU supports Direct3D 11 and the game detects it as a Direct3D 10 adapter, update your graphics drivers.

Advanced INI File options

You can also edit the INI files for additional options. Don’t forget to save the original file before applying any changes. You should also be aware that some combinations of options may lead to graphical issues and crashes. The INI files are available at this location: %userprofile%DocumentsMy GamesOutlast2OLGameConfig

Here are the features that you can edit within the INI files:

Chromatic Aberration: Disable the chromatic aberration effect by setting AllowChromaticAberration in OLSystemSettings.ini to False.

Borderless Fullscreen: Set the UseBorderlessFullscreen option to True in chúng tôi in order to enable borderless fullscreen.

Unlocked Frame Rate: To enable this feature, open the OLEngine.ini file and modify the MaxSmoothedFrameRate. The game will analyze your setting and the monitor’s refresh rate and pick whichever is the highest.

Sync Interval: If Outlast 2 runs at a very irregular frame rates, you can lock it down to 30. Open the chúng tôi file and tweak the SyncInterval. The devs explain that a SyncInterval of 2 will V-Sync every 2 refreshes of your screen, making the game run at 30 FPS on a 60 Hz monitor.

Unsupported graphics features on Outlast 2

SLI and Crossfire are not supported. The game will run both but will show no gain in performance.

NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync are not supported.

Microsoft is continuously working on improving the experience and usability of Windows 10, especially now when Windows 10 v1903 caused so many bugs.

It seems like the never-ending list of problems continues with KB4507453. Instead of solving old problems, the new patch comes with many bugs of its own.

KB4507453 reported bugs 1. KB4507453 fails to install

The Windows 10 May update isn’t done with installations problems, KB4507453 update patch being the living proof of that. Some users reported that the patch install failed with error code 0x800f0904.

The issue is relate with the previous KB4501375 patch which also failed to install with error 0x800f0904. Here’s what one user who had problems with both patches is saying:

Two or so weeks ago KB4501375 failed to install, and this still shows in the Update listing as failed. error code 0x800f0904. Yesterday and today KB4507453 failed to install after several retries. error code 0x800f0904. At least the error codes are common, although the fix may be more difficult.

The issue seems more common on HP laptops, as some of them weren’t tested for Windows 10 v1903 and are not compatible with it because the BIOS can’t be updated.

If you’re in the same boat and can’t install the KB4507453 patch, there are a couple of things that you could try.

1. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter:

Follow the on-screen steps and wait for the process to finish.

If the Troubleshooter stops before completing the process, fix it with the help of this complete guide.

2. Restart the Windows Update service:

In the Command Prompt window that appears, type the following commands one-by-one followed by Enter:

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

Ren C:WindowsSoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

Ren C:WindowsSystem32catroot2 Catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

Close Command Prompt and check if the update works.

If you’re having trouble accessing Command Prompt as an admin, then you better take a closer look at this guide.

2. KB4507453 is unavailable for installation

Expert tip:

On the latest Patch Tuesday, I was not offered the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 KB4507453. […] I was never offered the update and when I tried to manually install it, I was told that “This update doesn’t apply to your computer” or something like that.

Also, in the update history you could see some greyed out options. This means one of two things: either you’re in the slow ring of the insider program, or this update doesn’t apply to you.

Why? Because it includes some improvements and fixes that will be downloaded separately if you installed the previous update. Windows won’t need to download and install the entire thing to your PC.

For more info on that, you can check out this official Microsoft page.

3. Windows doesn’t boot after installing KB4507453

Boot problems plagued the Windows 10 v1903 update from the beginning. This continues in KB4507453 update patch, as some users can’t boot into Windows after installing it. Here’s what one user stated:

windows 10 (1903) update KB4507453 – does not boot. I had to go back to the last restore point of 2023-07-11 to make the system run again.Error 0x80242024 is shown for KB4507453. There is plenty of disk space.

It’s not sure yet if this is specific to dual-boot systems or not.

If you’re in the same situation, you can always use System Restore to bring your PC back to normal. To do that, follow the steps:

In the Windows search box type System Restore.

Note: If the System Restore button is greyed out, it means that you don’t have a previously saved restore point and the restore option isn’t available. Make sure that the option is active under Protection Settings.

If you’re interested in more info on how to create a restore point and how would that help you, take a look at this simple article to find out everything you need to know.

If System Restore isn’t working, don’t panic. Check this useful guide and set things right once again.

Some Windows 10 users are complaining that the Dolby Access for Headphones disappeared after installing the KB4507453 patch:

After the recent update, i am not able to see the option ‘Dolby Access for Headphones’ option in spatial sound. Before the update i was able to view the option and the functionality has been working fine.

Luckily, there are a couple of solutions to fix this issue quickly.

1. Run the Audio troubleshooter:

Follow the on-screen steps and wait for the process to finish.

The troubleshooter fails to load with an error? Follow this useful guide and fix it in just a couple of simple steps.

If you’re having trouble opening the Setting app, take a look at this article to solve the issue.

2. Reinstall your audio driver:

In the Windows search box type Device Manager.

Restart your PC and windows will automatically install the default driver.

Optional: You can also go to Device Manager and scan for hardware changes.

Windows can’t automatically find and download new drivers? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

And that’s about it. These are the most common bugs in KB4507453 update and a few simple solutions to solve them.

Also, if you have any other questions, leave them there as well.

The title’s main character, Bayonetta, is thus revived after five centuries to continue this struggle. With only one clue about her past, she sets out on a quest to find out who she really is, facing hordes of enemies and giant foes.

Bayonetta gamers will also face various technical issues. They report that the game is sometimes affected by a series of bugs that limit the gaming experience. In this article, we’re going to show you how to fix common Bayonetta bugs.

Fix: Bayonetta frequent issues

Bayonetta is a great game, but many PC users reported various issues with it. Speaking of Bayonetta issues, here are some common problems that users reported:

Bayonetta PC black screen – This is a common problem with many games, and it can be caused by your graphics drivers, so be sure to update them to the latest version.

Bayonetta choppy, PC stuttering – Many users reported stuttering in Bayonetta. This can be caused by your settings, so try changing your resolution or disable Vsync.

Bayonetta performance, sound issues – According to users, many have encounter performance issues. This can be caused by your graphics card drivers, so try switching to an older driver and check if that helps.

Bayonetta white screen – Many users reported white screen in Bayonetta. This isn’t a serious issue, and you can fix it by running the game in Compatibility mode.

Solution 1 – Disable Vsync and run the game in Borderless Window

Vsync is a useful feature that allows you to sync your FPS with the refresh rate of your monitor. This feature is great if you want to ensure that your game sessions are smooth and without any screen tearing.

However, many users reported that Vsync actually caused an FPS drop in Bayonetta. To fix this problem, disable Vsync completely. In addition to disabling Vsync, users are suggesting running the game in Borderless Window mode, so you might want to try that as well.

After making these changes, the issue should be completely resolved.

Solution 2 – Run the game in Offline Mode

According to users, sometimes running the game in Offline mode can improve your FPS. If you notice any FPS drops or stuttering, be sure to go Offline in Steam and try to start the game again.

After starting the game in Offline mode, check if the problem is still there.

Solution 3 – Use resolutions with a 16:9 aspect ratio

If you have FPS issues in Bayonetta, you might be able to fix the problem by switching to a different resolution. Many users reported that switching to a 16:9 aspect ratio resolution fixed the problem for them, so be sure to try that.

After switching to a 16:9 resolution, check if the problem is still there.

If you want to ensure that Bayonetta is running smoothly on your PC, it’s recommended that you keep your system up to date. Certain glitches and issues can occur if your system is out of date, and for the most part, you can fix those issues by updating your system.

Windows 10 automatically installs the missing updates, but you can also check for updates by doing the following:

Once your system is updated, check if the issue is still there.

Solution 5 – Check your graphics card drivers

According to users, you can fix various Bayonetta issues simply by checking your graphics card drivers. Several users claim that the latest Nvidia drivers might not work properly with Bayonetta, so you might want to uninstall them and install older drivers.

To do that, you just need to follow these steps:

Use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove your graphics card driver.

Once you do that, visit your graphics card manufacturer’s website and download the driver that is at least a couple of months old.

After downloading the driver, install it.

Expert tip:

Solution 6 – High Precision Event Timer in the PC’s BIOS

While your PC boots, keep pressing Del of F2 button on the keyboard to enter BIOS.

Now look for High Precision Event Timer option and disable it.

Once you disable this feature, save changes and restart your PC.

After doing that, check if the problem is resolved. If you have problems entering BIOS or if you can’t find this feature, be sure to check your motherboard manual for detailed instructions.

Solution 7 – Disable HDR and Steam Overlay

According to users, sometimes features such as HDR can interfere with Bayonetta and cause FPS drops to occur. To fix the problem, simply find and disable HDR feature and the issues should be resolved.

In addition to HDR, users are suggesting disabling the Steam Overlay feature, so be sure to try that as well.

Solution 8 – Install vcredist files and make sure that the game is installed on your system partition

Like many other games, Bayonetta requires Visual C++ Redistributables in order to run. If these components are missing, you might be able to fix the problem simply by installing them manually. To do that, just go to Bayonetta’s installation directory and look for a vcredist directory.

Once you open this folder, be sure to install all available files. Once the necessary components are installed, try to run the game again.

Several users reported that they fixed the issue by installing the game on their system drive, so be sure to try that as well.

Solution 9 – Use a specific resolution

Many users reported duplicated and picture-in-picture cutscenes in Bayonetta. This can be an annoying issue, and it’s usually caused by your resolution. This issue can appear when using 16:9 aspect ratio resolution, and to fix the problem, you just have to change the resolution to 1920×1080 or 3840×2160.

Solution 10 – Run the game in Compatibility mode

Many users reported a white veil while using a Full-screen mode. To fix this problem, you just have to run the game in Compatibility mode. To run Bayonetta in Compatibility mode, do the following:

After doing that, try to start the game and check if the problem is resolved.

Solution 11 – Edit the .exe file with Hex editor

To enable 21:9 aspect ratio support, you need to use a Hex editor and edit the .exe file. More specifically, replace 39 8E E3 3F with 55 55 15 40 save the file, and launch the game again.

Solution 12 – Use x360ce

If you want to use Xbox 360 controller while playing Bayonetta, you just need to do the following:

Solution 13 – Use back+RB on your controller

Although this is not an issue per se, many players are annoyed by having to pause the game and then go to Options in order to skip the cutscenes. On an Xbox controller, you can simply use the back+RB combo to quickly skip the cutscenes.

How To Fix Your Graphics Card Does Not Support Directx 11 Features.

If you are a gamer, you have probably encountered the error message “Your graphics card does not support DirectX 11 features” at some point while trying to launch a video game on your Windows 11 or 10 computer. If so follow along as this article guides you through several different fixes that will help solve this issue for you.

Related: How to fix – Your GPU driver version does not meet the minimum requirements error on Windows 11.

DirectX is a set of technologies that allows software, particularly games, to work directly with your audio and video hardware. It provides a set of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that developers can use to build multimedia applications that run on Windows operating systems. “Your graphics card does not support DirectX 11 features” is an error that occurs when a game requires the DirectX 11 set of components, but your graphics card does not support it or can’t find it installed on your system.

If you are experiencing the “Your graphics card does not support DirectX 11 features” error while trying to play a game, it means that the game requires these new features and your graphics card is not capable of providing them. This can be a frustrating problem, especially if you have a high-end graphics card and you are not sure why the game is not working. In this article, we will explore some solutions that you can try to fix this issue and get your game running.

How do you fix Your graphics card does not support DirectX 11 features? Direct X 11 Features not supported fix.

Check your DirectX version: The first thing you should do is make sure that your system has DirectX 11 or a higher version installed. You can check the version of DirectX that is installed on your computer by using the DirectX Diagnostics Tool. To do this, follow these steps:

Select “dxdiag” from the search results. This will open the DirectX Diagnostics Tool.

Here you will see the DirectX feature levels supported by your computer.

If your system has a feature level lower than 11, it means that you do not have the required version of DirectX installed. In this case, you should proceed to the next solution.

Install the latest Windows Update.

If your system does not have DirectX 11 or a higher version, you should install it. In Windows 10 & 11, the latest version of DirectX is included in the latest Windows Update. To install the latest update, follow these steps:

Open the Settings app and go to the Windows Update tab.

After installing the latest update, restart your system and see if the issue has been resolved.

Uninstall and reinstall your graphics card driver.

If your graphics card supports DirectX 11 and you have the required version of DirectX installed on your system, but the game is still not working, the problem might be related to your graphics card driver. In this case, you should try reinstalling your graphics card driver. To do this, follow these steps. However, rather than using the standard method, you’ll need to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).

Although you can do this from Device Manager on Windows, it’s better to use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). DDU is the go-to software for all graphical issues, both NVIDIA and AMD products.

First, download Display Driver Uninstaller (Linked above).

Next, download the latest graphics drivers from your computer or graphics card manufacturer’s website (usually found on the support page). You can find the NVIDIA catalogue here. And the AMD catalogue is here.

Once you have the drivers on your computer, turn off your Internet connection and run DDU. Make sure that you enable the tick box next to Remove GeForce Experience (GFE) when it appears. This is important.

After a system restart, install the driver software and enable your internet connection again.

This will make sure that Windows doesn’t try to install a generic driver in the background.

Note: Sometimes it’s worth trying multiple driver versions. For example, if the latest driver doesn’t work try one that is a few weeks old. Just don’t go back too far.

Now that you have clean installed your graphics drivers using DDU, you shouldn’t have any more issues with your GPU driver version does not meet the minimum requirements error If you have any issues with your computer booting to a black screen after using DDU check out this guide: How to fix a black screen after uninstalling graphics drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).

Add the Graphics Tools optional feature.

If the problem persists after reinstalling your graphics card driver, you can try installing the Graphics Tools optional feature, which adds support for DirectX. To do this, follow these steps.

Open the Settings app then go to Apps.

Scroll down the list of features and select “Graphics Tools“. Or use search to find it.

This will install the Graphics Tools optional feature, which includes the Graphics Diagnostic tool, the Performance Tuning Framework, and the Windows Performance Recorder. These tools can help you troubleshoot and optimize the performance of your graphics hardware and software.

It might be time to purchase a new graphics card.

If none of the above solutions work, you may need to purchase a new graphics card that supports DirectX 11. If you have an older graphics card that does not support the latest version of DirectX, upgrading to a newer one can significantly improve your gaming experience. You should consider purchasing a graphics card from a reputable manufacturer such as NVIDIA or AMD and make sure it meets the minimum hardware requirements for the game you want to play.

Ios 16 Problems: 11 Common Iphone Issues And How To Fix Them

Experiencing problems after updating to iOS 16 on an iPhone happens for some users, and while it’s annoying, the good news is they’re usually easy to resolve.

From battery issues, to the feeling that an iPhone is hotter than normal, to sluggish performance, problems with installing the update itself, wi-fi issues, apps crashing, and other misbehaviors, every iOS update sometimes has hiccups for a select group of users. Read along and let’s troubleshoot these issues so that you’ll be using your iPhone as intended in no time.

Always back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer before engaging in software updates or troubleshooting tricks.

1: iOS 16 Update Not Showing as Available?

Is the iOS 16 update not even showing up as available for you?

First you should confirm that you have a compatible iPhone with iOS 16. If that checks out, then you want to make sure your iPhone has an active internet connection.

Sometimes simply restarting the iPhone will allow the update to show as available as well.

2: iOS 16 Stuck on “Preparing for Update” or “Verifying Update”, Can’t Install iOS 16 Update

Perhaps you can’t even begin to install iOS 16 because the update is stuck on “Verifying Update” or “Preparing for Update”? Usually if these messages show up in the Software Update section, it goes away on it’s own, but it may take a few hours.

If it has been a very long time and the update is still not proceeding, you can also try restarting the iPhone by turning it off and on again, or by force restarting the device.

3: Seeing Beta Versions of iOS 16 Instead of Final Releases?

If you participated in the iOS 16 beta program, you will continue to receive beta updates instead of final versions on the iPhone.

You can leave the iOS 16 beta program to stop getting beta updates on your device.

4: Apps Crashing After Updating to iOS 16

If apps are crashing after you have installed the iOS 16 update, the first thing you should do is update your apps.

Developers often need to update apps to be compatible with new versions of system software, and installing those updates can be critical for things to behave as expected.

5. iPhone Battery Draining Faster with iOS 16

Many users are reporting that iPhone is draining battery life faster with iOS 16. This is not uncommon, and it happens for many users after installing system software updates.

Usually it’s a matter of patience, as the iPhone completes background tasks, and battery life returns to normal. Try leaving the iPhone plugged in over night for a night or two, it should resolve on its own.

You can review more about fixing battery issues with iOS 16 here if interested.

6: iPhone is Slow After Updating to iOS 16

Performance issues are not unusual after installing system software updates to iPhones.

Much like the aforementioned battery issue, performance degradation typically resolves itself in a day or two after the iPhone has been plugged in and left unattended, like overnight when charging.

iOS updates trigger many background tasks that reindex the device, data on the iPhone, photos, etc, but performance should return to normal within anywhere from hours to a day or two.

7: iPhone is Hot After Installing iOS 16

Some users feel their iPhone is hot to the touch after installing iOS 16. This often coincides with sluggish performance.

A warm iPhone typically indicates the device is using a lot of resources, usually because it is indexing data or performing background tasks. And, much like the aforementioned battery issues and performance issues, if the iPhone feels hot to the touch it will usually resolve itself when plugged in and left unattended for a few hours, up to a few days, as background tasks complete on the device.

8: iOS 16 Failed to Install, And Now the iPhone / iPad Isn’t Working

If the iOS 16 update failed to install and the iPhone is now bricked, go here to read what to do with a bricked iPhone after a failed software update. This is very rare, thankfully.

9: Bluetooth Problems with iOS 16

Occasionally, Bluetooth connectivity acts up after installing a software update, and iOS 16 is no exception.

First you should try restarting the iPhone, which may resolve the problem immediately.

10: Wi-Fi Problems with iOS 16

Some iPhone users have noticed wi-fi issues after updating to iOS 16.

Simply restarting the iPhone may resolve wi-fi issues. Also, make sure the wi-fi network is active and online for other devices.

If need be, you can read more about troubleshooting and fixing iPhone wi-fi when it’s not working here.

11: Cellular Reception Diminished, Calls Dropping After Installing iOS 16?

Some users report that their iPhone has reduced cellular reception, or that calls are randomly dropping after updating to iOS 16 on their iPhone. It’s unclear if this is a specific issue with iOS 16 or if it’s coincidence, but it’s possible that the software update impacted how the iPhone moves between cellular towers or maintains a connection with a wireless carrier.

When users complain of the cellular issue, they typically report that their cellular reception bars are lower, or that the iPhone appears to hang onto cell towers longer without switching to a closer tower with better reception and full bars, often in areas where they used to have full coverage.

Again this may just be a coincidence.

If you are experiencing any issues with lower cellular reception or calls dropping with iOS 16, you can try to toggle AirPlane mode off and on, which will cause the iPhone to reconnect to nearby cell towers.

Be sure to install software updates to iOS for your iPhone as they become available as well.

iOS 16.1.2 update includes a non-specific improvement to “compatibility with wireless carriers” that may address this issue.

Misc iOS 16 Issues, Problems, Bugs

Some miscellaneous iOS 16 issues also include the following:

Some users report being constantly bothered by an Allow Paste popup alert, a bug that is resolved with iOS 16.0.2 update

Some users report Siri does not activate or listen properly when in a car with iOS 16, either connected through Bluetooth or through Lightning cable, this is likely a bug that will be resolved in a software update

Be sure to periodically check for software updates for iOS 16, since bug fix updates will be released often by Apple to address obvious issues

7 Ways To Fix Vpn Connection Issues In Google Chrome – Webnots

VPN (Virtual Private Network) is simply a private connection that routes through a public network (the internet) to link remote sites or users. VPN helps to create a reliable and secure connection between business networks over the internet. Besides, it enables users to access local network resources from anywhere. However, like many other technologies, VPN may develop some issues when you try to access the internet through your browser or other application. In this article, we will focus on how to troubleshoot and fix VPN problems in Google Chrome.

Related: Fix Wi-Fi connection issues in Windows 10.

Do you have Chrome VPN Issues?

Chrome failing to connect when paired with a VPN is common. Nevertheless, before you start fixing the problem, it is important to rule out any connection problems.

Check the network icon and ensure your computer has the internet connection. On Windows 10, you can look at the system tray on bottom right edge of the screen. And on MacBook, check it on the top Apple menu bar that shows WiFi icon.

Network Icon Status

The warning symbol on the network icon indicates you have limited or no internet access message. Check out our article on how to fix this limited internet connection issue.

If you have no internet connection, properly connect the PC either using Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. If the problem persists, you can restart your modem or computer and check whether the problem is solved.

If you can access webpages without VPN then it could be a problem on Chrome browser. You can try the following options to fix VPN connection issues in Google Chrome.

5 Ways to Fix VPN Connection Issues in Google Chrome

Clear browsing data

Disable proxy server

Disable Chrome extensions

Flush DNS cache

Check firewall settings

Use updated VPN app

Disable network lock in VPN app

Option 1: Clear Browser Data (History, Cache and Cookies)

Google Chrome saves data from websites you have visited to enhance your browsing experience. However, these files can accumulate and interfere with VPN integration as well as secure channel connections. Clearing browser data can solve Chrome VPN issues.

Clear All Browsing History

Restart Chrome and try connecting to the websites.

Option 2: Turnoff Proxy Server

Uncheck All LAN Settings

Re-run both your VPN and Chrome then test the connection.

If you use Mac, Chrome will open “Network Preferences” settings. You can disable proxy settings under “Proxies” tab.

Disabling Proxy in Mac

Option 3: Disable Chrome Extensions

Most of the popular VPN services like ExpressVPN offers Chrome browser extension for Windows and Mac. If you are using Chrome VPN extension, uninstall it and try to use the desktop app. This will help you to confirm the problem is with the VPN server side or on Chrome browser side.

If you have installed other Chrome extensions, they could be the reason behind VPN connection error even when you use desktop VPN app. To fix the problem, you should disable the suspected extensions. To do so:

Disable All Extensions

Restart the browser and try connecting.

Option 4: Clear the DNS Server Cache (DNS Flush)

DNS (Domain Name System) translates IP address to a readable URL, making it easy to remember a site address. Together with your browser, DNS server maintains DNS cache, so that the IP conversion doesn’t have to happen every time you visit a site. This speeds up the sites’ loading time. However, with time these address can be outdated, which can lead to VPN issues. Clearing the DNS cache could solve this problem.
