Suggested March 2024 Ios 16 Problems: 11 Common Iphone Issues And How To Fix Them

Experiencing problems after updating to iOS 16 on an iPhone happens for some users, and while it’s annoying, the good news is they’re usually easy to resolve.

From battery issues, to the feeling that an iPhone is hotter than normal, to sluggish performance, problems with installing the update itself, wi-fi issues, apps crashing, and other misbehaviors, every iOS update sometimes has hiccups for a select group of users. Read along and let’s troubleshoot these issues so that you’ll be using your iPhone as intended in no time.

Always back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer before engaging in software updates or troubleshooting tricks.

1: iOS 16 Update Not Showing as Available?

Is the iOS 16 update not even showing up as available for you?

First you should confirm that you have a compatible iPhone with iOS 16. If that checks out, then you want to make sure your iPhone has an active internet connection.

Sometimes simply restarting the iPhone will allow the update to show as available as well.

2: iOS 16 Stuck on “Preparing for Update” or “Verifying Update”, Can’t Install iOS 16 Update

Perhaps you can’t even begin to install iOS 16 because the update is stuck on “Verifying Update” or “Preparing for Update”? Usually if these messages show up in the Software Update section, it goes away on it’s own, but it may take a few hours.

If it has been a very long time and the update is still not proceeding, you can also try restarting the iPhone by turning it off and on again, or by force restarting the device.

3: Seeing Beta Versions of iOS 16 Instead of Final Releases?

If you participated in the iOS 16 beta program, you will continue to receive beta updates instead of final versions on the iPhone.

You can leave the iOS 16 beta program to stop getting beta updates on your device.

4: Apps Crashing After Updating to iOS 16

If apps are crashing after you have installed the iOS 16 update, the first thing you should do is update your apps.

Developers often need to update apps to be compatible with new versions of system software, and installing those updates can be critical for things to behave as expected.

5. iPhone Battery Draining Faster with iOS 16

Many users are reporting that iPhone is draining battery life faster with iOS 16. This is not uncommon, and it happens for many users after installing system software updates.

Usually it’s a matter of patience, as the iPhone completes background tasks, and battery life returns to normal. Try leaving the iPhone plugged in over night for a night or two, it should resolve on its own.

You can review more about fixing battery issues with iOS 16 here if interested.

6: iPhone is Slow After Updating to iOS 16

Performance issues are not unusual after installing system software updates to iPhones.

Much like the aforementioned battery issue, performance degradation typically resolves itself in a day or two after the iPhone has been plugged in and left unattended, like overnight when charging.

iOS updates trigger many background tasks that reindex the device, data on the iPhone, photos, etc, but performance should return to normal within anywhere from hours to a day or two.

7: iPhone is Hot After Installing iOS 16

Some users feel their iPhone is hot to the touch after installing iOS 16. This often coincides with sluggish performance.

A warm iPhone typically indicates the device is using a lot of resources, usually because it is indexing data or performing background tasks. And, much like the aforementioned battery issues and performance issues, if the iPhone feels hot to the touch it will usually resolve itself when plugged in and left unattended for a few hours, up to a few days, as background tasks complete on the device.

8: iOS 16 Failed to Install, And Now the iPhone / iPad Isn’t Working

If the iOS 16 update failed to install and the iPhone is now bricked, go here to read what to do with a bricked iPhone after a failed software update. This is very rare, thankfully.

9: Bluetooth Problems with iOS 16

Occasionally, Bluetooth connectivity acts up after installing a software update, and iOS 16 is no exception.

First you should try restarting the iPhone, which may resolve the problem immediately.

10: Wi-Fi Problems with iOS 16

Some iPhone users have noticed wi-fi issues after updating to iOS 16.

Simply restarting the iPhone may resolve wi-fi issues. Also, make sure the wi-fi network is active and online for other devices.

If need be, you can read more about troubleshooting and fixing iPhone wi-fi when it’s not working here.

11: Cellular Reception Diminished, Calls Dropping After Installing iOS 16?

Some users report that their iPhone has reduced cellular reception, or that calls are randomly dropping after updating to iOS 16 on their iPhone. It’s unclear if this is a specific issue with iOS 16 or if it’s coincidence, but it’s possible that the software update impacted how the iPhone moves between cellular towers or maintains a connection with a wireless carrier.

When users complain of the cellular issue, they typically report that their cellular reception bars are lower, or that the iPhone appears to hang onto cell towers longer without switching to a closer tower with better reception and full bars, often in areas where they used to have full coverage.

Again this may just be a coincidence.

If you are experiencing any issues with lower cellular reception or calls dropping with iOS 16, you can try to toggle AirPlane mode off and on, which will cause the iPhone to reconnect to nearby cell towers.

Be sure to install software updates to iOS for your iPhone as they become available as well.

iOS 16.1.2 update includes a non-specific improvement to “compatibility with wireless carriers” that may address this issue.

Misc iOS 16 Issues, Problems, Bugs

Some miscellaneous iOS 16 issues also include the following:

Some users report being constantly bothered by an Allow Paste popup alert, a bug that is resolved with iOS 16.0.2 update

Some users report Siri does not activate or listen properly when in a car with iOS 16, either connected through Bluetooth or through Lightning cable, this is likely a bug that will be resolved in a software update

Be sure to periodically check for software updates for iOS 16, since bug fix updates will be released often by Apple to address obvious issues

5 Common Problems With The Moto X And How To Fix Them

The Moto X that was released last year took the smartphone world in a somewhat new direction, with a major OEM proving that you don’t have to win, or even be a part of, the specs race that dominates the Android world to have a great flagship device. Motorola managed to do that with some interesting customization options, and a slew of features on top of an otherwise stock-like OS that allowed for a fantastic software experience. That said, some users have faced some issues along the way, and today, we’ll be taking a look at some of these problems, and offering potential solutions to fix them. At the end of the article, there will also be some helpful how-to guides on performing a factory reset, soft reset, rebooting in Safe Mode, and clearing cache partition. Let’s take a look!

Disclaimer – The old Moto X is still one of the best smartphones you can buy, and in all likelihood, you will not face any of the issues stated below.

If you’re looking to extend your battery life, go to Settings – Battery and tap on Battery Saver and select Battery to optimize battery life. When you the battery drops to below 15%, using this mode will turn off Wi-Fi and 3G services, turn off background sync, and reduce brightness.

You can also help extend your battery life by turning off Auto-Brightness, and keeping brightness at a mid level. Also turning off Wi-Fi Always Scanning in the Advanced Wi-Fi Settings will also increase your battery life.

In case of a rapid and unexplained battery drain, an app may be the cause. To figure out if this is the case, reboot the device in Safe Mode and see if the issue still persists. If it doesn’t then an application is the reason behind this problem. To figure out which one, you can try uninstalling the most recent apps you’ve downloaded, or even start fresh by performing a Factory Reset and being careful about which apps you install. Guides to booting into Safe Mode, and how to perform a factory reset can be found below.

As you will lose all your data if you do a factory reset, before doing so, you can also try clearing the cache partition of the device. You can find the guide to doing so  below.

You can try to reset the Motorola Assist app by going into Settings – Apps, tap on Motorola Assist, and tap on clear data and clear cache. Repeat this action for Motorola Assist Engine, Motorola Assist Framework, and Motorola Assist Talk to Me.

A soft reset may do the trick. The guide on how to do a soft reset can be found below.

In more extreme cases, a factory reset may be required.

If you don’t use Motorola Assist much, a temporary workaround is to disable all the apps mentioned above, but this is obviously not the answer.

Motorola has promised a fix for issues with this feature, so make sure that you’re on the latest version of the software.

Problem #3 – Connectivity Issues with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or GPS

Users have complained about various types of connectivity issues with their Moto X, such as the Wi-Fi not connecting, dropping, or being slow, phone still playing audio through device speakers instead of through Bluetooth speakers or not pairing with Bluetooth device, and GPS not being accurate or not switching on. Not at all of these issues have a permanent fix, but there are some workarounds you can try to help alleviate the problem.

Potential Solutions –

For Wi-Fi issues

Go into the Wi-Fi settings of the phone, find your network and tap on Forget Network. Then restart the router and try connecting to network by adding the credentials again. This is of course just a temporary fix and the issue may come back.

Download the Wi-Fi Analyzer app from the Google Play Store and looking at that information, you may need to change the channel on your router.

In the router settings, check to see if MAC filtering is on. You’ll then need to enter a MAC address for the phone. You can find it by going into Settings – About Phone – Status – Wi-Fi MAC Address.

If there is an issue with data sync, a clearing the cache partition may work. You can find the guide on how to do so below.

For Bluetooth issues

In most cases, bluetooth issues occur because of compatibility issues. Check the protocols of both devices to make sure that they are compatible.

Try connecting the bluetooth device to another smartphone to see if the issue is with the device itself.

Do a soft reset on the phone, turn off and on the bluetooth device, remove the pairing, and then try reconnecting from scratch.

Make sure that the firmware of the bluetooth device is up to date. The information on how to update the firmware can be found from the device manufacturer.

For GPS issues

Download the GPS Status and Toolbox app from the Google Play Store. You can use this app to reset the GPS, and this might fix the problem.

Go into Settings – Location Access check the settings. Try turning on Wi-Fi and mobile network location, as well as Wi-Fi always scanning in the Wi-Fi Settings.

Problem #4 – Overheating

Some users have complained about the device becoming uncomfortably warm, even when the display hasn’t been continuously on for a long time, or you aren’t playing a graphically-intensive game.

Potential Solution –

Kill all the background apps that you aren’t using, and make sure that the auto-sync feature of some apps is also turned off. To do so, go into Settings – Applications and then choose the app and disable auto sync.

If you have a protective case or cover for your Moto X, a potentially simple solution is to remove the case when you know that you’ll be doing something that may cause the phone to get warm, such as playing high-intensity games.

This could be related to a specific app. Reboot the device in Safe Mode (see below on how to do so), and if the issue doesn’t occur then, an application is the culprit. Make sure that all the apps are up to date, and you can also try clearing the app cache. Then, you can uninstall apps that you’ve recently downloaded, or do a Factory Reset and start over.

If the phone heats up unnecessarily, such as when the display is off, or you’re not doing anything that is processor intensive, it may be faulty hardware, and it’s best to pick up a replacement if possible.

If the screen is frozen, tapping on the power button to turn the screen off, and turning the screen on again might unfreeze it. If that doesn’t work, a long press on the power button will reboot the device.

The likely culprit for this issue is a specific application. You can follow the instructions in Problem #4 above to find out if this is the case.

As mentioned, here are some useful guides to perform certain tasks on the Moto X –

How to reset the device

Soft Reset

Press and hold the power button, ignore the pop up menu if it comes up, and continue to hold for 7 – 10 seconds. This will restart the device.

You won’t lose any data when you perform a soft reset.

Factory Reset

If the phone is working, go to Settings – Backup and Reset – Factory Data Reset and tap on Reset Phone.

To do an external reset when the phone is off, press the volume down key for 2 – 3 seconds, then simultaneously press the power button and then release it. Different Boot Options should show up. Use the volume down key to scroll to Recovery, and press the volume up key to select. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark). Press and hold the Volume Up key for 10-15 seconds. While still holding the key tap and release the Power button. The device will display additional menu options. Use the volume down key to scroll to Wipe data/factory reset, and tap the power button to select the option.

Keep in mind that performing a factory reset will erase all your data on the device, to don’t forget to backup anything important you may have.

How to clear cache partition

when the phone is off, press the volume down key for 2 – 3 seconds, then simultaneously press the power button and then release it. Use the volume down key to scroll to Wipe Cache Partition and press the power button to select.

How to boot into Safe Mode

Press the power key and in the popup menu, press and hold on Power Off until it reboots. A menu should come up that says Reboot to Safe Mode, where you can tap OK.

You will know this has worked when you see Safe Mode written at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Bayonetta is an action game that follows the story of the last survivor of an ancient witch clan who keeps a balance between light, dark, and chaos. The title’s main character, Bayonetta, is thus revived after five centuries to continue this struggle. With only one clue about her past, she sets out on a quest to find out who she really is, facing hordes of enemies and giant foes.

Bayonetta gamers will also face various technical issues. They report that the game is sometimes affected by a series of bugs that limit the gaming experience. In this article, we’re going to show you how to fix common Bayonetta bugs.

Fix: Bayonetta frequent issues

Bayonetta is a great game, but many PC users reported various issues with it. Speaking of Bayonetta issues, here are some common problems that users reported:

Bayonetta PC black screen – This is a common problem with many games, and it can be caused by your graphics drivers, so be sure to update them to the latest version.

Bayonetta choppy, PC stuttering – Many users reported stuttering in Bayonetta. This can be caused by your settings, so try changing your resolution or disable Vsync.

Bayonetta performance, sound issues – According to users, many have encounter performance issues. This can be caused by your graphics card drivers, so try switching to an older driver and check if that helps.

Bayonetta white screen – Many users reported white screen in Bayonetta. This isn’t a serious issue, and you can fix it by running the game in Compatibility mode.

Solution 1 – Disable Vsync and run the game in Borderless Window

Vsync is a useful feature that allows you to sync your FPS with the refresh rate of your monitor. This feature is great if you want to ensure that your game sessions are smooth and without any screen tearing.

However, many users reported that Vsync actually caused an FPS drop in Bayonetta. To fix this problem, disable Vsync completely. In addition to disabling Vsync, users are suggesting running the game in Borderless Window mode, so you might want to try that as well.

After making these changes, the issue should be completely resolved.

Solution 2 – Run the game in Offline Mode

According to users, sometimes running the game in Offline mode can improve your FPS. If you notice any FPS drops or stuttering, be sure to go Offline in Steam and try to start the game again.

After starting the game in Offline mode, check if the problem is still there.

Solution 3 – Use resolutions with a 16:9 aspect ratio

If you have FPS issues in Bayonetta, you might be able to fix the problem by switching to a different resolution. Many users reported that switching to a 16:9 aspect ratio resolution fixed the problem for them, so be sure to try that.

After switching to a 16:9 resolution, check if the problem is still there.

If you want to ensure that Bayonetta is running smoothly on your PC, it’s recommended that you keep your system up to date. Certain glitches and issues can occur if your system is out of date, and for the most part, you can fix those issues by updating your system.

Windows 10 automatically installs the missing updates, but you can also check for updates by doing the following:

Once your system is updated, check if the issue is still there.

Solution 5 – Check your graphics card drivers

According to users, you can fix various Bayonetta issues simply by checking your graphics card drivers. Several users claim that the latest Nvidia drivers might not work properly with Bayonetta, so you might want to uninstall them and install older drivers.

To do that, you just need to follow these steps:

Use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove your graphics card driver.

Once you do that, visit your graphics card manufacturer’s website and download the driver that is at least a couple of months old.

After downloading the driver, install it.

Expert tip:

Solution 6 – High Precision Event Timer in the PC’s BIOS

While your PC boots, keep pressing Del of F2 button on the keyboard to enter BIOS.

Now look for High Precision Event Timer option and disable it.

Once you disable this feature, save changes and restart your PC.

After doing that, check if the problem is resolved. If you have problems entering BIOS or if you can’t find this feature, be sure to check your motherboard manual for detailed instructions.

Solution 7 – Disable HDR and Steam Overlay

According to users, sometimes features such as HDR can interfere with Bayonetta and cause FPS drops to occur. To fix the problem, simply find and disable HDR feature and the issues should be resolved.

In addition to HDR, users are suggesting disabling the Steam Overlay feature, so be sure to try that as well.

Solution 8 – Install vcredist files and make sure that the game is installed on your system partition

Like many other games, Bayonetta requires Visual C++ Redistributables in order to run. If these components are missing, you might be able to fix the problem simply by installing them manually. To do that, just go to Bayonetta’s installation directory and look for a vcredist directory.

Once you open this folder, be sure to install all available files. Once the necessary components are installed, try to run the game again.

Several users reported that they fixed the issue by installing the game on their system drive, so be sure to try that as well.

Solution 9 – Use a specific resolution

Many users reported duplicated and picture-in-picture cutscenes in Bayonetta. This can be an annoying issue, and it’s usually caused by your resolution. This issue can appear when using 16:9 aspect ratio resolution, and to fix the problem, you just have to change the resolution to 1920×1080 or 3840×2160.

Solution 10 – Run the game in Compatibility mode

Many users reported a white veil while using a Full-screen mode. To fix this problem, you just have to run the game in Compatibility mode. To run Bayonetta in Compatibility mode, do the following:

After doing that, try to start the game and check if the problem is resolved.

Solution 11 – Edit the .exe file with Hex editor

To enable 21:9 aspect ratio support, you need to use a Hex editor and edit the .exe file. More specifically, replace 39 8E E3 3F with 55 55 15 40 save the file, and launch the game again.

Solution 12 – Use x360ce

If you want to use Xbox 360 controller while playing Bayonetta, you just need to do the following:

Solution 13 – Use back+RB on your controller

Although this is not an issue per se, many players are annoyed by having to pause the game and then go to Options in order to skip the cutscenes. On an Xbox controller, you can simply use the back+RB combo to quickly skip the cutscenes.

Kb4507453 Frequent Issues And How To Quickly Fix Them

KB4507453 frequent issues and how to quickly fix them

X

Microsoft is continuously working on improving the experience and usability of Windows 10, especially now when Windows 10 v1903 caused so many bugs.

It seems like the never-ending list of problems continues with KB4507453. Instead of solving old problems, the new patch comes with many bugs of its own.

KB4507453 reported bugs 1. KB4507453 fails to install

The Windows 10 May update isn’t done with installations problems, KB4507453 update patch being the living proof of that. Some users reported that the patch install failed with error code 0x800f0904.

The issue is relate with the previous KB4501375 patch which also failed to install with error 0x800f0904. Here’s what one user who had problems with both patches is saying:

Two or so weeks ago KB4501375 failed to install, and this still shows in the Update listing as failed. error code 0x800f0904. Yesterday and today KB4507453 failed to install after several retries. error code 0x800f0904. At least the error codes are common, although the fix may be more difficult.

The issue seems more common on HP laptops, as some of them weren’t tested for Windows 10 v1903 and are not compatible with it because the BIOS can’t be updated.

If you’re in the same boat and can’t install the KB4507453 patch, there are a couple of things that you could try.

1. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter:

Follow the on-screen steps and wait for the process to finish.

If the Troubleshooter stops before completing the process, fix it with the help of this complete guide.

2. Restart the Windows Update service:

In the Command Prompt window that appears, type the following commands one-by-one followed by Enter:

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

Ren C:WindowsSoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

Ren C:WindowsSystem32catroot2 Catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

Close Command Prompt and check if the update works.

If you’re having trouble accessing Command Prompt as an admin, then you better take a closer look at this guide.

2. KB4507453 is unavailable for installation

Expert tip:

On the latest Patch Tuesday, I was not offered the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 KB4507453. […] I was never offered the update and when I tried to manually install it, I was told that “This update doesn’t apply to your computer” or something like that.

Also, in the update history you could see some greyed out options. This means one of two things: either you’re in the slow ring of the insider program, or this update doesn’t apply to you.

Why? Because it includes some improvements and fixes that will be downloaded separately if you installed the previous update. Windows won’t need to download and install the entire thing to your PC.

For more info on that, you can check out this official Microsoft page.

3. Windows doesn’t boot after installing KB4507453

Boot problems plagued the Windows 10 v1903 update from the beginning. This continues in KB4507453 update patch, as some users can’t boot into Windows after installing it. Here’s what one user stated:

windows 10 (1903) update KB4507453 – does not boot. I had to go back to the last restore point of 2023-07-11 to make the system run again.Error 0x80242024 is shown for KB4507453. There is plenty of disk space.

It’s not sure yet if this is specific to dual-boot systems or not.

If you’re in the same situation, you can always use System Restore to bring your PC back to normal. To do that, follow the steps:

In the Windows search box type System Restore.

Note: If the System Restore button is greyed out, it means that you don’t have a previously saved restore point and the restore option isn’t available. Make sure that the option is active under Protection Settings.

If you’re interested in more info on how to create a restore point and how would that help you, take a look at this simple article to find out everything you need to know.

If System Restore isn’t working, don’t panic. Check this useful guide and set things right once again.

Some Windows 10 users are complaining that the Dolby Access for Headphones disappeared after installing the KB4507453 patch:

After the recent update, i am not able to see the option ‘Dolby Access for Headphones’ option in spatial sound. Before the update i was able to view the option and the functionality has been working fine.

Luckily, there are a couple of solutions to fix this issue quickly.

1. Run the Audio troubleshooter:

Follow the on-screen steps and wait for the process to finish.

The troubleshooter fails to load with an error? Follow this useful guide and fix it in just a couple of simple steps.

If you’re having trouble opening the Setting app, take a look at this article to solve the issue.

2. Reinstall your audio driver:

In the Windows search box type Device Manager.

Restart your PC and windows will automatically install the default driver.

Optional: You can also go to Device Manager and scan for hardware changes.

Windows can’t automatically find and download new drivers? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

And that’s about it. These are the most common bugs in KB4507453 update and a few simple solutions to solve them.

Also, if you have any other questions, leave them there as well.

Common Ios 14 Issues And Fixes We Know Of

Tech giant, Apple, has dropped the latest iteration of its mobile operating system — iOS — and there has been plenty of hype around it. Dubbed as iOS 14, the OS brings a slew of new features and tweaks, enhancing the second most popular operating system inside and out. From refreshing widgets to best-in-class privacy features, iOS 14 has a lot going for it. You can change app icons now and customize widgets to create an home screen for yourself.

However, its repertoire of features doesn’t make it immune to the usual bugs — and weird ones — which new software updates bring. Today, we’ll take a look at some of the most widely acknowledged iOS 14 bugs out there and hopefully help you come up with a solution or two.

Related: 175+ Awesome Aesthetic App Icons

In this little subsection, we’ll take a look at iOS 14 releases and primarily focus on the bug fixes that accompany.

September 24th, 2023: Merely a week after the release of the stable variant of iOS 14, Apple has released version 14.0.1 of the operating system. It’s not a massive overhaul or anything of course but fixes a couple of known bugs.

It fixes the bug in which the system would reset the default browser back to Safari. The issue where certain WiFi networks didn’t get detected by iPhones has also been taken care of. And finally, the preview bug on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has also been squashed.

iOS 14.0.2 is already in the works and should become available over the next week or so. Users who are suffering from compatibility issues in different apps should also get a bit of respite over the next weeks, as the apps would finally start getting Apple’s validation for the updates.

Issues and possible fixes

This issue usually occurs when either the update package is faulty or there’s is some mishap between host and client.

Possible fixes

Fortunately, this annoying issue doesn’t require a very complicated solution and can be fixed through some simple remedies — restart, deleting update package, or a complete DFU. Check out our dedicated article to know all about the different methods and their applications.

If you thought getting past the dreaded ‘Update Requested’ issue would guarantee a smooth ride, you’d be disappointed to know about the existence of another equally frustrating concern — ‘Preparing Update.’ This happens while the package is being prepared to be installed on your device but gets halted for once reason or the other. Like the issue mentioned in the previous section, this one, too, is often down to compromised update packages and shoddy connection between your device and server.

Possible fixes

Fixing the ‘Preparing Update’ issue doesn’t require much expertise, but they most certainly demand patience and perseverance. You could have to restart your device, delete the update package, perform a hard reset, or initiate a full-blown DFU. If all of it seems too intimidating to you, be sure to check our special article for solving the ‘Preparing Update’ issue.

Horrible battery issue

@AppleSupport iPhone XR – bugs in IOS 14 – display dimmed – lock unlock to make it work properly- battery drain issues post upgrade

— Panchi Shah BLM (@shah_panchi) September 22, 2023

Excessive battery drain is one of the most common problems after an OS update. iOS 14, for all intents and purposes, is a well-rounded release, but many users have been enduring abysmal battery backup.

Users, who could squeeze out a day of usage are now being forced to charge twice a day. If you, too, are experiencing lackluster battery performance, be sure to follow some of the solutions below.

Possible fixes

In the ‘Battery’ section, you’ll be able to identify the apps that drain the most battery. Once you do, be sure to discard the most resource-intensive applications at once. Similarly, you could also turn off location services and background app data refresh to prolong your battery life.

Additionally, since iOS 14 comes with a system-wide dark theme, you could keep it on at all times to preserve your battery. That way not only you’ll be able to get some extra minutes out of your iPhone but you’ll also be saving your eyes from significant strain.

Finally, for emergencies, you could opt to turn on ‘Low Power Mode.’

It might compromise on performance but is guaranteed to give your battery life a substantial lift.

Wireless connection issues

Anyone else having issues?

— Dart (He/Him) 🏳️‍🌈 (@deejdart) September 21, 2023

Battery life aside, many iOS 14 users have been reporting poor WiFi/data connection since loading up the new operating system. They have been having a hard time loading up even the simplest of images and GIFs is taking an insane amount of time, which is hardly encouraging for a potential iOS 14 aspirant. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to do in this regard, but there’s still one thing you could do at your own risk.

Possible fix

When such a weird issue comes to light, performing a reset is pretty much the only viable option. However, before going all out, make sure to restart your phone or perform a hard reset to rule out easier alternatives.

To perform a hard reset on iPhone X or newer, first, press the Volume Up button, then the Volume Down button, and finally press and hold the Side key. Once the Apple logo appears on the screen, release the Side key. On older devices, pressing and holding the Volume Down and the Side key would do the trick.

If a hard reset doesn’t do the trick, you’ll need to prepare for a factory reset. Be aware that performing a factory reset would erase all data on your device, so, make sure to backup your data before proceeding.

To perform a factory reset, first, go to Settings and tap on ‘General.’ Then, tap on ‘Reset’ and select ‘Erase All Content and Settings.’ You’ll need to enter your passcode to confirm the selection to perform the factory reset.

If it still doesn’t solve the issue, go to your nearest Apple care and get your device checked.

Wireless Charger consistency issue

@Native_Union hi! Since iOS 14 my wireless charger stopped working properly. Intermittently charging and flashing white light. Is this a known issue?

— Lawrence Job (@lawrencejob) September 22, 2023

Wireless charging has been a touchy topic for Apple devices since the dawn of time. First, the company took its sweet time bringing the feature over, of course, and now the latest version of iOS seems to have broken the feature for many. As per complaints, the Apple-certified wireless chargers fail to keep up their usual throughput and only charging intermittently. The devices are also flashing white lighting while charging.

Possible fix

Even after so many beta tests, Apple hasn’t figured out a way to make the wireless charging free from glitches. Thankfully, there’s a rather simple solution to this problem. There seem to be an issue with optimized charging in iOS 14, which makes wireless chargers a little less efficient than they are supposed to be.

Camera not working issue

— GalaxyCat (@GalaxyCat) September 17, 2023

Many iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users have been experiencing a debilitating issue with their cameras after upgrading to iOS. Instead of allowing users to point and shoot, older iPhones are now throwing a black screen, forcing users to miss out on valuable moments and potential memories. Apple hasn’t addressed the issue, yet, but there have been a couple of temporary solutions to this menace.

Possible fixes

Two ingenious users from Apple’s forum have given us two ways to subside the issue. The first one is to turn on the flashlight, wait for about 15 seconds, and then try the camera once again. The second solution asks the sufferers to set the timer to three seconds and wait for the camera to become responsive. Both solutions have fetched desired results, making them worth checking out. To learn more about the problem and the solutions, do check out our exclusive article on the issue.

Bluetooth not working issue

I was really excited about iOS 14 but I can’t listen to music because of this Bluetooth connectivity issue so I need @Apple to get it together ASAP!!!!

— Pretty Bird (@brianabona) September 19, 2023

Bluetooth issues, especially after a major software update, isn’t too uncommon. However, that doesn’t make the issue any less frustrating. Since iOS 14 dropped a few days ago, we’ve been hearing about its Bluetooth connection issues, especially with wireless headphones — including AirPods. Users have been experiencing distorted audio, connection drops, and more — issues that have also caught Apple’s attention.

Possible fixes

Since Apple has already been notified of the problem, the best course of action would be to wait for them to roll out an update and install it as soon as it hits the shelves.

You could also re-pair the Bluetooth devices to rule out minor incompatibility issues. First, unpair the device by tapping on ‘Forget the Device’ and then look for it once again. Make sure to put it in pairing mode before scanning.

Apple Watch battery drain issue

My Apple Watch (series 2) has been working *just fine* up until they released iOS 14. Now it just so happens to die after 6 hours off the charger. I swear apple does this shit so that I upgrade to the series 6 watch. Lemme pull out my pocketbook 🙄

— Michael Trea Smith (@TreaSmith) September 21, 2023

Apple Watch has been one of the best products of the company and continues to break new grounds with each passing generation. The Cupertino giant is usually generous in terms of software updates to older devices, but older Apple Watch users seem to have run into some problems with the release of iOS 14. Battery life on older devices — between Series 2 and 4 —  has taken a huge hit and is now failing to last a day.

Possible fixes

iOS 14 keyboard issue

iOS 14 was supposed to make the iMessage experience even better by adding some new features into the mix. Unfortunately, some users have only been experiencing the worst of it since moving to iOS 14. Their overall iMessage experience has been way below par and the keyboard is also experiencing alarming lags and slowdowns.

Possible fixes

iOS is notorious for introducing keyboard issues after a new software update, and iOS 14 hasn’t been an exception. There isn’t a quick and guaranteed solution to this problem, but there are a couple of solutions that work a little better than others.

First and foremost, go to your phone’s power menu and perform a restart. If that doesn’t solve the issue, go deeper and try a hard reset. To hard reset an iPhone with Face ID, hit the Volume Up then Volume Down, and finally, press and hold the Side key. If you’re using an iPhone 7 or 8, simply press and hold the Volume Down and Side key together until you see the Apple logo.

iOS 14 Overheating issue

So I updated my iPhone 11 Pro to iOS 14 and now it’s got that overheating issue again. Sigh.

— Christine Romero-Chan (@christyxcore) September 16, 2023

Overheating and battery drain usually go hand in hand, and we’re starting to see that trend again here on iOS 14. Users are reporting their phones overheating beyond normal standards, making them unusable at times. Lags and stutters have also grown exponentially, forcing users to question their decision of “upgrading” to iOS 14. This phenomenon hasn’t been discriminatory so far and is affecting old and new devices alike.

Possible fixes

High battery drain is directly related to heat production. So, the aim would be to restrict resource-intensive applications and keep the phone calm on most occasions. By going into ‘Battery’ in Settings, you’d be able to figure out the most power-hungry applications and limit them as you see fit.

6 Problems With The Lg V10 And How To Fix Them

LG’s new V series of smartphones is the company’s latest attempt to capture the premium smartphone market. The first offering in the series, the LG V10, features a beautiful design, a durable body, gorgeous display, high-end specifications, and a fantastic camera experience, along with a second screen experience that is quite unique. Overall, the LG V10 makes for a very compelling flagship option, especially for those that expected more from the LG G4.

LG V10 review

LG V10 best cases

However, as is the case with any current generation smartphone or tablet, the LG V10 is not without its issues. Which is why, we’ve rounded up some of the common problems that LG V10 owners face, and offer potential solutions on how to fix them.

Disclaimer: The LG V10 is one of the best flagship smartphones of 2024, and it is more than likely that you won’t come across any of the problems mentioned below.

Oddly enough, some users have found the Paypal application to be causing this problem. If you have the Paypal app installed, remove it to see if the problem goes away. Hopefully, a future update of the app will address this issue, and you can install it once again at that time.

If you find the Paypal app to not be at fault, another rogue application may be the cause of concern. Boot the device into Safe Mode (you can find the instructions on how to do so below) and see if this issue occurs. If it doesn’t, a recently installed third party application is the problem. Uninstall any apps that were installed just before the issue showed up, and see if that fixes it.

This is a problem that has been acknowledged by LG, and improvements to the fingerperint scanner will be made available in a future software update. Basically, the problem now is that contact with the metal sides is necessary when using the scanner to have it work properly. Taking off the case makes the scanner work properly again.

Some users have found the setting up the fingerprint scanner again, this time with the case, helps a little bit.

Problem #3 – Icon at the top left of the screen stops working

Many users have found that the icon at the top right corner of the screen, such as the back arrow or the three dot menu button, stops working after a while, regardless of which app they are in.

Potential solutions:

This is another well known problem, and seems to be caused by the Facebook Messenger application. Users have found that uninstalling the app solves the issue right away. Hopefully, a future update of the app will address this problem.

If you find the FB Messenger app to not be at fault, another rogue app may be the cause for concern. Boot the device into Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, remove any recent applications you may have installed before the issue showed up, and see if that fixes it.

This seems to be an issue with the smart network switch settings. You can go into Settings – Wi-Fi settings – Advanced and turn off settings like “Avoid bad Wi-Fi connections,” or “automatically switch to mobile data.”

Unfortunately, some users found this to be a hardware issue, and had to pick up a replacement device, with the new phone not suffering from the same problem, so that may be the best solution for you.

Problem #5 – Screen not waking after calls

Many users have found the device display to remain turned off after a call, making it difficult to end a call, or access anything else on the phone while on a call.

Potential solutions:

This seems to be a problem with the proximity sensor, and is generally faced by users that use generic screen guards, especially of the tempered glass variety. Screen guards made specifically for the LG V10 come with an L shaped cut at the top that keep the proximity sensor uncovered, and using this helps avoid the problem.

You can also check if there is a problem with the proximity sensor itself. Download an app like Aida64 from the Google Play Store. Go to the Sensors section and look for the Proximity sensor. Hold your hand over the sensor, and the value should switch between 5 cm and 0 cm for far and near respectively.

A rogue app may also be the cause of concern. Boot the device into Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, uninstall any apps that you may have downloaded before the problem started, and see if that fixes it.

Problem #6 – Connectivity issues

As is the case with any new device, you may find yourself facing some connectivity issues with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth issues seem to be especially prominent with the LG V10.

Potential solutions:

Wi-Fi issues

Turn the device and the router off for at least ten seconds, then turn them back and retry the connection.

Go to Settings – Power saving and ensure that this option is turned off.

Use the Wi-Fi Analyzer to check how crowded your channel is, and switch to a better option.

Forget the Wi-Fi connection by going to Settings – Wi-Fi and long tapping the connection you want, then selecting “Forget”. Re-enter the details and try again.

Make sure the router firmware is up to date.

Make sure the applications and software on the device are up to date.

Go into Wi-Fi – Settings – Advanced and make a note of your device MAC address, then make sure that it is allowed access in the router’s MAC filter.

Bluetooth issues

With issues when connecting to the car, check the manufacturer’s manual for the device and the car and reset your connections.

Ensure that you are not missing a vital part of the connection process.

Go to Settings – Bluetooth and ensure nothing needs changing

Go into Settings – Bluetooth delete all prior pairings and try setting them up again from scratch.

When it comes to issues with multiple device connection, only a future update will be able to address this problem.

Booting into Safe Mode

Turn off the phone and restart it. When the LG logo appears, press and hold the volume down key until you see the home screen, which should take it into Safe Mode.

Hardware control mode

If the display of the phone is broken or damaged, you can still perform some basic functions using the hardware buttons.

Press and hold the power button and both volume keys together for more than 10 seconds to enable the hardware key control mode.

Press the volume keys to scroll to the option you want, and press the power button to confirm.

To answer a call, you can now press both volume keys at the same time to do so.

to end a call, press the power button during the call.

To stop the alarm, press and hold the volume keys together when the alarm rings.

However, if you are planning to pick up the LG V10, don’t let these problems change your mind. Most of these issues are software-based, and future updates will likely address them. The LG V10 is still one of the best Android smartphones out there, and if you are looking for features like durability and a great camera, this smartphone is certainly a great choice.
