Introduction to UiPath and UiPath Versions

Web development, programming languages, Software testing & others

UiPath is used to create bots, who do defined tasks as per scheduled. They require minimum maintenance once deployed and are easy to monitor. The bots are deployed in and monitored from an orchestrator. The automation flows run by the bots are created in UiPath Studio.

UiPath as a platform has a new version released to production every month. The current version is Feb-2023 and up-gradation has been done on Automation cloud and Orchestrator. Prior to that, in version Jan-2023,there were modifications released for studio, studioX, Orchestrator, robot and assistant. Hence, we know that UiPath as a platform has new modifications released every month.

UiPath Studio is available to users in various forms which will be further discussed in this article.

UiPath Editions and their details

Before learning about the various editions of UiPath, let us understand the components of UiPath. Every Robotic Process Automation has three components which are a Developments Studio, runtime bots and a control tower. In UiPath, UiPath studio is the development tools where the users can plan and create their workflows. These workflows are called runtime bots. These bots are run to complete a process defined in the workflow in a repetitive manner. These bots are deployed in, monitored and maintained within the Orchestrator. This Orchestrator is the control tower of UiPath. This is where users can run the workflows after deploying. This is where the run of bots is monitored and if failing, can be debugged.

Community Edition is the one which is zero-cost and accessible to all. It is available for free and can be downloaded from the official website for UiPath. This version offers two studios for creation and modifications of workflows. To deploy and run these workflows there are two robots available. And the orchestrator provided in this edition is hosted on the cloud. Users who signs up for this edition also has full access to UiPath Academy, where they can learn about UiPath. There is forum support provided with this edition too.  In addition to all of this, it is to be noted that Community edition is easily upgradable to Enterprise edition, which is available at a certain cost.

Enterprise edition currently provides on-premise services. This edition is meant for process flows for huge businesses. Here, the users have access to unlimited studios for working on creation and modifications of workflows. To run these workflows, there are unlimited robots available. The orchestrator also, instead of being cloud-based, is on-premise. Since the components are on-premise in this editions, the updates are self managed and need to be done by the user or administrator when required. For learners, this edition provides trainers, who can help the users with any issue related to UiPath.

The Cloud version of Enterprise Edition is currently in review. Very similar to the server or on-premise edition, cloud edition offers limitless studios and unlimited robots. The orchestrator in this case is cloud based. Since the components are hosted on a cloud, the entire setup is always up to date and there is no need for the administrator to manage updates. Also, the cloud version of enterprise edition offers a centrally managed user access. This helps in deciding to what extent must a user be given access. If there is any kind of learning needed, the official training partners are always available. Being hosted on cloud, the cloud edition is completely secure and sans of any kind of threat be it data loss or data leak. This is fully compliant.

UiPath Licenses

Local License is the second type of license available to UiPath. This license comes into play, when UiPath is activated using a stand-alone trial version of the enterprise edition or if there is a license key available. Using this license, the enterprise edition of UiPath is activated. However, if not already connected to an orchestrator, the user needs to acquire an external license to connect to the online orchestrator.

The third and final type of license is the one which is obtained from the orchestrator. It has subtypes, which are, Attended, Unattended, Studio (Studio Pro and Studio X) and Non-production. If license is Attended, user can run or debug the processes. It does not allow any kind of modifications on the workflows. If it is Studio license, user will be able to debug, modify and run the processes. User will only have the access for troubleshooting processes, if the license is Non-Production and it is the same case with Unattended License.

Conclusion – UiPath version

In the above article, we dug into UiPath Editions, UiPath licenses, and how the version is controlled for particular applications. This is a good tool for the development environment and can reduce a lot of human efforts that otherwise go to waste in daily repetitive tasks. The users have the option to select which edition they want as long as their work is not hampered by a requirement that is not provided in that particular edition.

The Best Windows 11 Version For Pc Gaming

Windows 11 gaming performance came into question as soon as Microsoft released it. Now that it has been out for a while, it’s time to compare Windows 11 Home and Professional editions/versions to see which is best for PC gaming.

Why You Should Upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11

The main reason why gamers prefer Windows OS over macOS is that Microsoft has always developed its products with gaming in mind. It’s no different with Windows 11, but is Windows 11 that different from Windows 10?

Table of Contents

The answer is yes, but check our Windows 11 vs. Windows 10 article to get the complete picture. Windows 11 will improve your gaming experience. Unlike Windows 10, Windows 11 supports the newest gaming technologies, some previously available only for Xbox users.

The Game Mode that helped Windows 10 run newer games on older setups is available on Windows 11 too, but it’s improved. Aside from freeing up the CPU, Windows 11 limits the background activity and allocates more resources so you can play your game undisturbed.

Windows 11 also brings new gaming features such as Auto-HDR, DirectStorage, and a built-in Xbox app. Let’s see what these new features are all about and how they can improve your gaming experience.

Auto-HDR

In 2023, game developers announced the HDR feature for the last generation consoles. That meant that only a handful of games were to support HDR. Microsoft developed Auto-HDR, which can turn any game into an HDR experience as long as the display supports this feature.

That means if you have an HDR monitor, Windows 11 will detect it and automatically turn on auto-HDR so you can experience your games on a whole new level. The colors will be vibrant and realistic, boosting your visual gaming experience.

DirectStorage

An Application Programming Interface (API) is an intermediary between two applications and makes them work better. Direct Storage is one such API, and its task is to intermediate between the GPU and SSD. That means that the GPU can process and decompress the game data without the involvement of the CPU. This makes game load times much shorter.

Before DirectStorage, the API would send the game data from the RAM to the CPU for decompression and processing, and only then would it return it to the RAM and finally to the GPU to render and project the data. But DirectStorage skips this entire step and sends the compressed data directly to the GPU, so it’s up to the GPU to quickly decompress, process, and project it.

When DIrectStorage is combined with an NVMe SSD, the whole process is lightning fast, and the GPU won’t feel any additional stress. Moreover, the CPU will be free to deal with other tasks. DirectStorage is exclusive to Windows 11 and won’t become part of any future Windows 10 updates.

Built-in Xbox App

Unlike Windows 10, Windows 11 has the Xbox App and the Xbox Game Pass as built-in features. It connects the whole Windows ecosystem into one machine. Previously, you had to download the Xbox Companion app separately from PlayStore to connect your PC with the Xbox system. The Game Pass gives the subscribers access to Xbox cloud gaming instantly.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is still in the Beta development phase, but you can already log in and play some of the most wanted game titles. You need a good internet connection, and a desktop or a laptop.

Optimized Start Menu

This feature is not related to games, and it might be of no concern for people who use their PCs strictly for gaming. But it’s a neat feature, especially if you use your PC for professional or other entertainment purposes besides gaming.

The Start Menu of Windows 11 is optimized and versatile. It is easy to access different programs and navigate between apps. The Start menu can also be resized to fit your needs. This is more important for tablet users who don’t like the oversized Start menu that takes up a large portion of the lower screen, but it can also be helpful for gamers and gameplay streamers.

Windows 11 Home vs. Windows 11 Pro

Now that it’s clear that Windows 11 is a better option for gamers, the question is which version/edition to choose? Let’s look at the main differences between the two editions of this operating system and how they influence the gaming experience.

CPU

The real difference Between Windows 11 Home and Pro is in the CPU. While the Home edition supports only one CPU with 64 cores, the Pro edition supports two, with up to 128 cores.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that the Pro edition is better for gaming. The resource management is typically streamlined while gaming, so the two CPUs are unnecessary. Thanks to the new DirectStorage, one CPU is more than capable of running your game smoothly.

RAM

Windows 11 can support much larger RAM sizes. The Home edition supports up to 128GB of RAM, while the Pro up to 2TB.

Note that 128GB is already way over the top for gaming. The Home edition should be sufficient if you won’t use your PC for any purpose other than entertainment.

Security Features

Windows 11 Pro wins the race when it comes to security. It comes with a BitLocker, a feature that you can turn on and encrypt your hard disk. That way, your data will be protected, and no prying eyes will be able to see its content or steal it.

Once BitLocker encrypts your hard drive, no one will have access to it unless they have a password or a recovery key. That means that even if your PC is stolen, you don’t need to worry about the content you have on it.

Unfortunately, this feature is not available on Windows 11 Home. But as a gamer, do you need this extra layer of protection? It may be helpful for professionals who are trying to safeguard their work. But for anyone else, a good antivirus and a VPN are enough.

Updates

If you rely on regular updates for optimal gaming performance, you should know how Windows updates work. No matter what edition of Windows you have, they all receive updates as needed. Both Home and Pro receive regular updates.

The Cost

If you upgrade from Windows 10, Windows 11 Home is free. The Pro edition always costs $200, whether updating or buying a new license.

If you’re using your computer for professional purposes next to gaming, you might want to make the investment. All the additional features are worth the price. But if you use your PC only for gaming, browsing, and everyday work, there is no need to pay for a new OS.

Windows 11 Home comes with all the new gaming features at no cost. That would mean that Home is the best edition for gamers when choosing between the two.

What about Windows 11 Enterprise?

Microsoft developed Windows 11 Enterprise strictly for business. It requires a volume license agreement, and you cannot buy an OEM key for it. Windows Enterprise is not designed for consumers but companies.

Windows 11 Enterprise has all the same features as the Home and Pro editions and some additional apps specifically designed for business. This means that if you have the Enterprise edition, you can play games just as well as on any other edition.

Keep in mind that Enterprise is the most expensive option, but if you need it for the PC you use both for entertainment and work, you can’t go wrong. However, you will have to give this new OS some extra permissions to run games.

Which Edition is the Best for Gaming?

When it comes to gaming, the OS capabilities are the same whether you choose the Home, Pro, or Enterprise edition. No additional features they might have will bring a different gaming experience. Windows 11 Home is all you need as a gamer.

Windows 11 Home is an excellent choice for everyone. It brings all the new gaming features in the other two editions and costs nothing if you’re updating from Windows 10. It’s designed for consumer use and is the best option for most people.

That doesn’t mean that the Pro and Enterprise editions are any worse. They just come with additional features that aren’t that useful for average gamers and cost more. If you’re a professional and use your PC for work and entertainment, feel free to go with either Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise.

What Is Er Modeling? Learn With Example

What is ER Modeling?

Entity Relationship Model (ER Modeling) is a graphical approach to database design. It is a high-level data model that defines data elements and their relationship for a specified software system. An ER model is used to represent real-world objects.

An Entity is a thing or object in real world that is distinguishable from surrounding environment. For example, each employee of an organization is a separate entity. Following are some of major characteristics of entities.

An entity has a set of properties.

Entity properties can have values.

Let’s consider our first example again. An employee of an organization is an entity. If “Peter” is a programmer (an employee) at Microsoft, he can have attributes (properties) like name, age, weight, height, etc. It is obvious that those do hold values relevant to him.

Each attribute can have Values. In most cases single attribute have one value. But it is possible for attributes have multiple values also. For example Peter’s age has a single value. But his “phone numbers” property can have multiple values.

Entities can have relationships with each other. Let’s consider the simplest example. Assume that each Microsoft Programmer is given a Computer. It is clear that that Peter’s Computer is also an entity. Peter is using that computer, and the same computer is used by Peter. In other words, there is a mutual relationship between Peter and his computer.

In Entity Relationship Modeling, we model entities, their attributes and relationships among entities.

Enhanced Entity Relationship (EER) Model

Enhanced Entity Relationship (EER) Model is a high-level data model which provides extensions to original Entity Relationship (ER) model. EER Models supports more details design. EER Modeling emerged as a solution for modeling highly complex databases.

EER uses UML notation. UML is the acronym for Unified Modeling Language; it is a general-purpose modeling language used when designing object-oriented systems. Entities are represented as class diagrams. Relationships are represented as associations between entities. The diagram shown below illustrates an ER diagram using the UML notation.

Why use ER Model?

Now you may think why use ER modeling when we can simply create the database and all of its objects without ER modeling? One of the challenges faced when designing a database is the fact that designers, developers, and end-users tend to view data and its usage differently. If this situation is left unchecked, we can end up producing a database system that does not meet the requirements of the users.

Communication tools understood by all stakeholders(technical as well as non-technical users) are critical in producing database systems that meet the requirements of the users. ER models are examples of such tools.

ER diagrams also increase user productivity as they can be easily translated into relational tables.

Case Study: ER diagram for “MyFlix” Video Library

Let’s now work with the MyFlix Video Library database system to help understand the concept of ER diagrams. We will use this database for all hand-on in the remainder of this tutorial

MyFlix is a business entity that rents out movies to its members. MyFlix has been storing its records manually. The management now wants to move to a DBMS

Let’s look at the steps to develop EER diagram for this database-

Identify the entities and determine the relationships that exist among them.

Each entity, attribute, and relationship, should have appropriate names that can be easily understood by the non-technical people as well.

Relationships should not be connected directly to each other. Relationships should connect entities.

Each attribute in a given entity should have a unique name.

Entities in the “MyFlix” library

The entities to be included in our ER diagram are;

Members – this entity will hold member information.

Movies – this entity will hold information regarding movies

Categories – this entity will hold information that places movies into different categories such as “Drama”, “Action”, and “Epic” etc.

Movie Rentals – this entity will hold information that about movies rented out to members.

Payments – this entity will hold information about the payments made by members.

Defining the Relationships Among Entities

Members and movies

The following holds true regarding the interactions between the two entities.

A member can rent more than one movie in a given period.

A movie can be rented by more than one member in a given period.

From the above scenario, we can see that the nature of the relationship is many-to-many. Relational databases do not support many-to-many relationships. We need to introduce a junction entity. This is the role that the MovieRentals entity plays. It has a one-to-many relationship with the members table and another one-to-many relationship with movies table.

Movies and categories entities

The following holds true about movies and categories.

A movie can only belong to one category but a category can have more than one movie.

We can deduce from this that the nature of the relation between categories and movies table is one-to-many.

Members and payments entities

The following holds true about members and payments

A member can only have one account but can make a number of payments.

We can deduce from this that the nature of the relationship between members and payments entities is one-to-many.

Now lets create EER model using MySQL Workbench

Following window appears

Let’s look at the two objects that we will work with.

The table object allows us to create entities and define the attributes associated with the particular entity.

The place relationship button allows us to define relationships between entities.

The members’ entity will have the following attributes

Membership number

Full names

Gender

Date of birth

Physical address

Postal address

Let’s now create the members table

1.Drag the table object from the tools panel

2.Drop it in the workspace area. An entity named table 1 appears

Next ,

Change table 1 to Members

Edit the default idtable1 to membership_number

Do the same for all the attributes identified in members’ entity.

Your properties window should now look like this.

Repeat the above steps for all the identified entities.

Your diagram workspace should now look like the one shown below.

Lets create relationship between Members and Movie Rentals

Select the place relationship using existing columns too

Repeat above steps for other relationships. Your ER diagram should now look like this –

Summary

The full form of ER is Entity and Relationships Diagrams. They play a very important role in the database designing process. They serve as a non-technical communication tool for technical and non-technical people.

Entities represent real world things; they can be conceptual as a sales order or physical such as a customer.

All entities must be given unique names.

ER models also allow the database designers to identify and define the relations that exist among entities.

The entire ER Model is attached below. You can simply import it in MySQL Workbench

There is no timer in this game. So, it’s fun and appropriate for kids who are just learning the alphabet.

In Keyboard Climber 2, a monkey is stuck in a cave. Players help the monkey jump up rock platforms. They do this by recognizing the letters on the screen.

Each correctly typed letter gives the monkey a bunch of bananas. If the child types the wrong letter, a coconut falls on the monkey’s head, and the level restarts.

Typing chef is a free typing game where kids are apprentices working for a master chef.

Typing Chef measures speed and time as kids work their way up to a higher-level kitchen job by typing words before they move to the top of the screen.

The objective of Alphabet Shoot is to pass as many levels as possible out of a total of thirty.

To pass on to the next level, kids must aim and fire by moving the mouse and pressing the matching letter.

Speed is determined by how long a child holds down the letter key before releasing it. There is a limit to how many shots are allowed for each letter.

Make Learning Fun With Free Typing Games For Kids
