Suggested December 2023 Selena Gomez Returns With New Song, Music Video Shot On Iphone 11 Pro

Selena Gomez fans have been waiting four years for a new album after Revival, and the singer-songwriter has now released the first song for it — with the music video shot entirely on the iPhone 11 Pro. Back in 2023, when Revival was released, she was one of the most-played artists on Beats 1.

The new song is called Lose You to Love Me, and a clip from it is featured by Apple…

Apple has a one-minute clip from the video on its YouTube channel, promoting it as shot on iPhone 11. You can watch both the clip and the full video below.

Apple also promotes the song on iTunes and Apple Music.

Selenators, rise up! The pop superstar roars back with the new single ‘Lose You to Love Me.’ Hear it now and watch the Shot on iPhone music video.

Billboard reports that the upcoming album doesn’t yet have a name.

It’s been four years since Selena Gomez’s 2023 album, Revival, and a new era is finally upon us. The songstress kicked off her yet-to-be-titled upcoming album with the brand-new song “Lose You to Love Me.”

The ballad, which dropped Wednesday (Oct 23), is a characteristically Gomez pop melody with airy vocals and lyrics like, “Rose colored glasses all distorted/ I saw the signs and I ignored it/ I gave my all and they all know it.”

“I have to do a few finishing things with it, but I’m just relieved,” she told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show back in June. “It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album, and it’s just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that ‘how was I going to capture that?’ And how was I actually gonna feel good about what I was saying?”

The site reports that the video is shot by award-winning director Sophie Miller, who has shot videos for Annie Lennox, Blur, the Cure, the Eurythmics, Hole, Natalie Merchant, No Doubt, PJ Harvey, Sade, and Sinead O’Connor.

Miller is known for monochrome backgrounds, but an entirely black-and-white video is unusual for her, as she often uses bright colors in the foreground. She once told MVWire that she never plans out her videos ahead of time.

I don’t do storyboards, because if I do one, I can’t be bothered to do the video anymore — its like I have already done it. To me, making videos is really exciting and creative, but if I know what I am going to do, it’s not interesting to me. I like to go into it not quite knowing what is going to happen; then everything is fresh and exciting. Every musician you work with is different, and the way they look at themselves and their work is different. I look at that artist and think, ‘You’re different; what can I do with you that I have not done before?’

The simplicity of this video is its strength. In truth, it’s not a great challenge for the iPhone as it’s a studio-lit shoot; the heavy lifting here is done by the lighting and editing.

Here’s Apple’s cut:

And the full video:

Macerkopf also has a very short behind-the-scenes clip showing the simplicity of the setup despite the pro kit involved.

The single is available for purchase on iTunes, and can be streamed on Apple Music.

Flo Tv On Iphone With New Mophie Juice Pack

FLO TV on iPhone with new mophie juice pack

We’ve been more than a little dismissive of Qualcomm’s FLO TV Personal Television, with SlashGear columnist Michael Gartenberg summing up most of our doubts when he asked why you’d want to carry a separate, dedicated device.  Now, thanks to a deal with mophie, the FLO TV prospect has just got a whole lot more interesting: iPod touch and iPhone juice pack sleeves that add not only a backup battery but FLO TV live television receiving on the Apple handhelds.

While several cellphones in the US are capable of receiving FLO TV broadcasts – which are transmitted live in their own chunk of spectrum, rather than delivered over the 3G networks – the iPhone is not one of them.  This new mophie adapter opens up FLO TV to a huge, dare we say accessory-voracious market of Apple fans.

There’ll be a subscription fee involved, obviously, which right now neither company are coming clean on; we’re guessing it’ll be around $8.99 per month based on a two-year contract, just like the standalone viewer.  Expect the FLO TV mophie juice pack to arrive in the US in the first half of 2010, price to be confirmed.

Press Release:

FLO TV and mophie™ to Bring Live Mobile TV to the Apple® iPhone™ and iPod touch™

— Unique Products to Deliver True Live Mobile TV to iPhone and iPod touch Users; Products Combine Live FLO TV™ Service with mophie’s Intelligent Case Design —

LAS VEGAS — January 6, 2010 — FLO TV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), and mophie today announced they are teaming to create a series of products that will bring live mobile TV to the iPhone and iPod touch platforms.

The products, which are expected to begin shipping in the first half of this year, will bring the award-winning FLO TV mobile TV service to the cutting-edge mophie juice pack, letting consumers view their favorite live entertainment, sports and news from the world’s top entertainment brands on their iPhone and iPod touch.

“mophie’s juice pack line has delivered superior rechargeable external battery life to Apple users,” said Shawn Dougherty, vice president of mophie, designer of the world’s thinnest Apple-certified external battery/protective case and other Apple-certified accessories. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to elevate our intelligent case design through this creative product collaboration and deliver the ultimate mobile television experience for iPhone users.”

The agreement between mophie and FLO TV reflects the growing demand for mobile television and FLO TV’s commitment to bring its award-winning service to any small screen. The new products integrate mophie’s intelligent case design with a built-in FLO TV receiver that allows iPhone and iPod touch users the ability to watch live television at the flip of a switch. Consumers can also utilize the device as back-up battery power in between charges.

Service not available everywhere. Programming subject to change / blackout restrictions. Service subscription required. “Live mobile television” means the FLO TV service transmits channels in real time; no downloading, sideloading or buffering.

This means that every Apple device sold, from material collection, component manufacturing, assembly, transport, customer use, charging, all the way through recycling and material recovery, will be 100 percent carbon neutral. iPhone 12 Pro models were designed with the environment in mind. For the first time, iPhone 12 Pro models will utilize 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, including the new camera, Taptic Engine, and MagSafe, as well as Apple’s MagSafe accessories. Apple is also removing the power adapter and EarPods from iPhone packaging, further reducing carbon emissions and avoiding the mining and use of precious materials, which enables smaller and lighter packaging, and allows for 70 percent more boxes to be shipped on a pallet. Taken altogether, these changes will cut over 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually, equivalent to removing nearly 450,000 cars from the road per year.

‘Time’ Cover Shot On Iphone As Marcus Rashford Honored For Child Hunger Campaign

He became a household name in the UK beyond footballing circles when he took the British government to task on child hunger in the first months of the coronavirus crisis…

In the UK, low-income families with children qualify for free school meals, ensuring that they have a hot lunch (and sometimes breakfast) at school at no cost. When the pandemic hit, many of these working families saw their income fall further as a result of being laid-off or having their hours reduced. This meant that they were left struggling to feed their families during school holidays and extended closures in the pandemic.

The government initially refused to help, but Rashford shamed it into doing so when he wrote an open letter to members of parliament, calling for support.

As many of you know, as lockdown hit and schools were temporarily closed, I partnered with food distribution charity FareShare to help cover some of the free school meal deficit. Whilst the campaign is currently distributing three million meals a week to those most vulnerable across the UK, I recognise it’s just not enough.

This is not about politics; this is about humanity. Looking at ourselves in the mirror and feeling like we did everything we could to protect those who can’t, for whatever reason or circumstance, protect themselves. Political affiliations aside, can we not all agree that no child should be going to bed hungry? […]

During this pandemic, people are existing on a knife’s edge: one missed bill is having a spiral effect, the anxiety and stress of knowing that poverty is the main driver of children ending up in care, a system that is designed to fail low-income families. Do you know how much courage it takes for a grown man to say “I can’t cope” or “I can’t support my family”? Men, women, caregivers, are calling out for our help and we aren’t listening.

Rashford said that he too would have been going hungry had this happened during his childhood, and that he was able to succeed thanks to a compassionate society.

The letter drew huge media coverage, and led to the government making a U-turn on the issue.

Seven-times world Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton explained why Rashford deserved this award.

In 2023, Marcus Rashford took his many talents beyond the football field—where he is a star player for Manchester United and England’s national team—to respond to a national crisis: child hunger.

“I know what it feels like to be hungry,” he wrote last June as part of a campaign that succeeded in pushing the government to provide meals for students in need during summer vacation. By standing up for the most vulnerable in our society, and using his platform and influence to create positive change, Marcus inspired countless others to join him on this mission and cemented his status as a role model.

In a year that showed us the power of working together toward a common goal, he was a galvanizing force behind uniting people across the U.K. in the effort to ensure that no child goes hungry. His determination, resilience and persistence have been truly inspiring. I cannot wait to see how he continues this important work.

Rashford tweeted that he was proud to make the cover, and noted that the photo was shot on an iPhone in his lounge.

Who would have thought you could have captured this via an iPhone in my front room 🤯 thank you @TIME very proud ♥️ #TIME100Next chúng tôi Marcus Rashford MBE (@MarcusRashford) February 17, 2023

It’s not the first occasion we’ve seen a Time cover shot on iPhone: The first time I can recall was back in 2012, and in 2023 Time exclusively used iPhone photos for a Women Firsts series.

Windows 11 gets build 22000.71 (KB5004252).

The flight introduces a new widget, transparency for the context menu, improvements for File Explorer and taskbar.

Build 22000.71 also brings a bunch of fixes.

Build 22000.71 (KB5004252) for Windows 11 is now rolling for devices enrolled in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This is the third preview available for testers, and it is a minor update with some visual changes and a slew of fixes. (See also this YouTube video highlighting all the new changes.)

In File Explorer, build 22000.71 includes a new button to make it easier to create new folders in the command bar. In addition, the taskbar thumbnail previews for apps have been updated with rounded corners and acrylic material to match Windows 11 design language.

Windows 11 build 22000.71 lists of fixes

This list includes all the fixes in this flight.

Using a long press with a touch on an app icon in the Taskbar to open the jump list should now work.

Addressed a problem that was making your mouse move slowly when hovering over the Taskbar previews.

Fixed an issue when using multiple Desktops where an app icon in the taskbar might give the appearance of multiple windows being open when that wasn’t the case on that Desktop.

When using the Amharic IME you should no longer see an unexpected X next to the IME icon in the taskbar.

When you hover over Task View, the preview flyout for your Desktops will no longer pop back up after using Esc to dismiss them.

Fixed a problem where the selected date in the calendar flyout was out of sync with the date in the Taskbar.

Addressed a scenario resulting in some Insiders not seeing the lunar calendar text in the calendar flyout when enabled in Settings.

This flight addressed an issue that could unexpectedly make the Taskbar background transparent.

The issue from the previous flight where icons in the taskbar corner were getting crushed against the top of the Taskbar has been addressed.

The tooltip for the location in use icon in the Taskbar should no longer appear blank sometimes.

Fixes for Settings:

Fixed a problem making Settings crash on launch periodically.

Using the volume mixer sliders in Sound Settings should be more responsive now, as well as the page responsiveness as a whole.

Addressed a problem resulting in Disk and Volumes Settings’ change size option being clipped.

The Power and Battery Settings page should no longer be reporting that the battery saver is engaged if it’s not.

The Power and Battery Settings page should also now not crash when launched from Quick Settings.

Fixed a grammatical error in the Sign-in Settings text.

The “I forgot my PIN” link was unexpectedly missing in Sign-in Settings when a PIN was set up and has now been returned.

The issue where the Move option under Apps & Features in Settings wasn’t working reliably should be addressed in this build.

Mitigated a problem where some of the colors in Settings weren’t updating after switching between dark and light mode, leaving the unreadable text.

Done some work to help improve the performance of Settings when switching between light and dark mode.

Addressed an issue where some of the elements of the Themes page in Settings would end up crowded together when the window size was small.

Resolved an issue where the Pen menu toggle under Taskbar Settings was not in sync with the actual state of the feature.

Changes made to “Dismiss notification after this amount of time” in Accessibility Settings should now persist.

Some of the icons you could enable in Taskbar Settings were erroneously labeled Windows Explorer even though that’s not what they were – this should now be fixed.

The Connect text in Quick Settings has been updated to say Cast.

Fixes for File Explorer:

Fixed an issue the desktop and File Explorer context menu would stop launching.

Fixes for Search:

Fixed an issue where the option to verify your account in Search wasn’t working.

Search should now work if you open Start and start typing after having gone to the apps list and back.

Fixes for Widgets:

When using the Outlook client with a Microsoft account, Calendar, and To-Do updates should sync faster down to the widgets.

Addressed an issue where if you added multiple widgets quickly from the widget’s settings, it could result in some of the widgets not being visible on the board.

Fixed a bug where widgets could all become stuck in a loading state (blank squares in the window).

The traffic widget should now follow the Windows mode (light or dark).

The title of the sports widget should no longer mismatch with the content of the widget.

Other general fixes:

This build addresses an issue where Alt + Tab was getting stuck open sometimes after you released the keys and had to be manually dismissed.

Fixed an issue where Narrator’s focus wasn’t ending up on the emoji panel after using the keyboard shortcut to open it.

Magnifier’s lens view has been updated so the lens now has rounded corners.

Addressed an issue that was noticeably impacting Start launch reliability for some Insiders.

Updated the “Most Used” text in the Start menu’s app list so it should no longer be getting clipped.

Using the semantic zoom in Start’s app list should no longer result in the list being pushed down and to the right off the edge of the window.

Fixed an issue where if you press Windows key + Z you would need to press Tab before you could use the arrow key to navigate through the snap layouts.

Addressed an issue where an acrylic area could get left on the screen after repeatedly snapping and unsnapping a window with touch.

Mitigated an unexpected flash when moving a snapped window with touch.

Made a change to help window borders have a little more contrast when “Show accent color on title bars and windows borders” was turned off.

Known issues found in build 22000.71

These are all the known issues for build 22000.71:

Start menu: You might be unable to enter text when using Search from Start or the Taskbar. If you experience the issue, press Windows key + R on the keyboard to launch the Run dialog box, then close it. Microsoft is also working on adding access keys to Windows key + X so that you can do things like “Windows key + X M” to launch Device Manager. But currently has issues.

Widgets: Widgets board may appear empty. Launching links from the widgets board may not invoke apps to the foreground. Widgets may be displayed in the wrong size on external monitors.

Windows Security: Device Security is unexpectedly saying “Standard hardware security not supported” for Insiders with supported hardware. And automatic sample submission” is unexpectedly turned off when you restart the computer.

Localization: There is an issue where some Insiders may be missing translations from their user experience for a small subset of languages running the latest Insider Preview builds.

Installing Windows 11 build 22000.71

If you want to download and install the Windows 11 build 22000.71, you need to enroll your device in the Dev Channel using the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section.

If you are an existing Insider, you can upgrade to the first preview of Windows 11 without restrictions. But, if your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, you won’t be able to install the final version when the new OS releases.

In the case that your computer meets the minimum requirements, then you will continue to be able to test the preview of Windows 11.
