SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 2 10.1″ AOKP ROM INSTALLATION
Before you begin with guide instructions below, make sure your android device is adequately charged — at least 50% battery of the device.
STEP 0: CHECK DEVICE MODEL NO.
Do not use the procedures discussed here on any other Galaxy Tab 2 variants (like Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T ones) or any other device of Samsung or any other company. You have been warned!
STEP 1: BACKUP YOUR DEVICE:
Back up important data and stuff before you start playing around here as there are chances you might lose your apps and app-data (app settings, game progress, etc.), and in rare case, files on the internal memory, too.

STEP 2: INSTALL LATEST DRIVER
You must have proper and working driver installed on your windows in order to get your device detected on your PC. You have to be in latest CWM Recovery to install 4.4.2 ROMs. No need to worry STEP 3 will guide you to install the latest CWM.

STEP 3: INSTALL THE LATEST CWM/TWRP RECOVERY
Skip this step if you already have latest version of CWM or TWRP recovery installed on your device.
Make sure that you’ve latest version of the recovery of your choice installed on your device.

STEP 4: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
DOWNLOADS
Download the file given below and transfer it to a separate folder on your phone and remember the location.

Be sure to transfer the ROM and Gapps files you downloaded above to your phone and remember the location of the files. You will need to flash them now on your device using CWM.
GUIDE FOR CWM RECOVERY
Boot into recovery mode. If you’re rooted, the easiest way to boot into recovery mode would be using the QuickBoot app. If not rooted, then follow the instructions below:
Power off your device and wait for 5-10 seconds until the device is fully switched off.
└ In Recovery mode, use Volume buttons to navigate up and down between options and use Power button to select an option.
Create a Nandroid Backup from recovery. It’s optional but very important to do, so that in case something goes wrong you can restore to current status easily. For making a Nandroid Backup, go to Backup And Restore » Backup.
Perform a Factory Reset (this will delete all apps and their settings and game progress). For this:
Select Wipe data/Factory reset, then select Yes on the next screen to confirm factory reset (screenshot)
First Install the ROM file:
└ Make sure to first flash the ROM file and then the Gapps file.
Reboot your device. For this, go back to the main menu of recovery and select reboot system now.
That’s all. Your phone will now reboot and it will take some time as it’ll be phone’s first boot after installing Android 4.4, be extremely excited for this!
GUIDE FOR TWRP RECOVERY
Boot into recovery mode. If you’re rooted, the easiest way to boot into recovery mode would be using the QuickBoot app. If not rooted, then follow the instructions below:

Tap on Wipe » tap Advanced Wipe » tap System to select it » then at the bottom of the screen do a Swipe on the ‘Swipe to wipe‘ option.
First Install the ROM file:
└ Make sure to first flash the ROM file and then the Gapps file.
Reboot your device. Go back to the main menu of recovery and tap on Reboot » then, tap on System to reboot your phone
Note: In case your device gets bootloop (stuck at logo while rebooting), just do a factory reset (step 3) and you will be fine.
That’s all. Your phone will now reboot and it will take some time as it’ll be phone’s first boot after installing Android 4.4, be extremely excited for this!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 Android 5.1.1 Update: T335Xxu1Bof8 Firmware Download With Install Instructions
Samsung Android 5.1.1 update release continues in full flow, as today Galaxy Tab 4 8.0-inch LTE edition became the first tablet to run the 5.1 Android OS. The update comes in the form of build no. T335XXU1BOF8, and once installed, should prevent downgrade back to Android 5.0.
The update belongs to Switzerland, and if that’s where you are using your 8-incher Tab 4, you should be receiving the OTA update soon enough. The OTA update outside of Switzerland could be happening shortly too, depending on the success rate or feedback of this update.
if you don’t like waiting for the OTA rollout in Switzerland or any other country you’re in, you cna install this very Android 5.1.1 update on your Galaxy Tab 4 LTE, 8-inch one of course, after making sure that your tab’s model no. is exact SM-T355. For this, download the 5.1 update firmware from here, and then use the instructions given here Galaxy S6 to update your Tab 4, it would work all fine!

Instructions
Disclamer: Installing an official firmware through Odin doesn’t void your device’s warranty, but it remains an unofficial process and thus you need to be cautious of it. In any case, you only are responsible for your device. We won’t be liable if any damage occurs to your device and/or its components.
Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files. Sometimes, Odin installation may delete everything on your device!
METHOD 1 - USING ODIN PC SOFTWAREThis is a very simple method to upgrade to Android 5.1, as it requires no preparation. Just install and you are done. But, you won’t be able to downgrade back to Android 4.4! Moreover, root access isn’t available for Android 5.1 yet.
(Note: If you want the ability to downgrade to 4.4 and root thereafter, don’t use this method. Instead, look for method 2 on this page.)
You should get the a file in chúng tôi format now (T335XXU1BOF8_T335OXA1BOF8_T335XXU1BOF3_HOME.tar.md5). We will be loading this file into Odin, to be installed on your Tab 4 (in step 10 below).
Extract the Odin file. You should get this file, Odin3 chúng tôi (other files could be hidden, hence not visible).
Disconnect your Tab 4 from PC if it is connected.
Boot Galaxy Tab 4 into download mode:
Power off your Tab 4. Wait 6-7 seconds after screen goes off.
Press and hold the three buttons Volume Down + Power + Home together until you see warning screen.
Press Volume Up to continue to download mode.
Connect your Tab 4 to PC now using USB cable. Odin should recognize your Tab 4. It’s a must. When it recognizes, you will see Added!! message appearing in the Log box in bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will also show a no. and turn its background blue. Look at the pic below.
You cannot proceed until you get the Added!! message, which confirms that Odin has recognized your device.
If you don’t get Added!! message, you need to install/re-install drivers again, and use the original cable that came with device. Mostly, drivers are the problem (look at step 2 above).
If Odin gets stuck at setup connection, then you need to do steps 6 to 12 again. For this, close Odin, disconnect your device, remove battery, insert it back after 5-6 seconds and then start from step 6 again.
That’s it. Enjoy the T335XXU1BOF8 Android 5.1.1 firmware, or call it OF8 in short, on your Tab 4!
METHOD 2 - USING FLASHFIRE ANDROID APP (NEEDS ROOT)This method retains your device’s ability to downgrade easily when needed. So that you can also root your Galaxy S6 after downgrading, as root is available on Android 4.4 builds. But you need root access for this method.
(Note: If you DO NOT want the ability to downgrade to 4.4 and root thereafter, don’t use this method. Instead, look for method 1 on this page that is easy and doesn’t require root access, but you will lose ability to downgrade, while we think root will be available soon anyway, more or less.)
Download the firmware file from above.
You should get the a file in chúng tôi format now (T335XXU1BOF8_T335OXA1BOF8_T335XXU1BOF3_HOME.tar.md5). We will be loading this file into Odin, to be installed on your Tab 4 (in step 10 below).
Connect your Tab 4 to PC, and transfer the tar file to device. Remember the location where you save it.
Disconnect the tab, and download the Flashfire android app that we will use to flash the firmware in tar format:
Login into Google using the same Gmail ID that you are using on device. Go to Google+ page and join the community.
Next, sign up here to be able to install the app from play store and receive updates.
Use the play store link provided thereafter to get to pay store page of the app and install it. It may take hours before it shows up for you in play store. You can only wait.
Open the Flashfire app. Provide it root permissions by tapping on Grant on the pop-up that shows up. And tap on Agree button on the Disclaimer pop-up that comes only one time. (Tip: Read the Instructions section, it’s helpful.)
→ Take care to NOT select Preload/Hidden and Modem partition, otherwise you could brick your device.
On main screen, tap on EverRoot, and un-tick all options. Hit checkmark button, of course, then.
Leave process cache as it is.
Important! Btw, it seems Flashfire reboots the device before completely finish the process. To prevent that, there’s a small trick, keep hitting volume up/down every few seconds. Take care of this!
Once done, your Tab 4 will reboot automatically and you shall see downgrade-able Android 5.1.1 update running. If you find an issue wherein you get stuck with the setup, or it hangs on Samsung’s logo, then just do the factory reset from the recovery mode. Here’s how:
Press and hold Power + Home + Volume down until screen goes off, and then quickly slide your finger from Volume down to Volume up while still holding the other two buttons while device tries to restart, to reboot into recovery mode.
In recovery mode, use volume buttons to move the selection highlight to wipe data/factory reset option, and then press power button to select it. Confirm with Yes on next screen. When done, you will be back at recovery’s home screen.
Select Reboot system now to restart the device. It will work alright this time around.
That would be it. Soon enough, you would have the Android 5.1 firmware running on your Tab 4. Enjoy! And do share this page with anyone who you think would find it useful.

How to download the correct firmware file
This is an important part!
Be sure to check and find the correct model no. of your Galaxy A5. Then, based on your device’s model no., look for the appropriate firmware build from above.
Now that you know the model no., download the latest firmware from above for that model no. exactly.
Next, install the firmware on your Galaxy A5 by following the guide linked right below.
How to install a firmware
First, read our disclaimer, then take backup and then follow the guide below to install the firmware.

Backup, backup, backup! Create an appropriate backup of contacts, pictures, videos, songs and other important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have a backup of all your important files. Sometimes, firmware installation may delete everything on your device! Like, when you change the CSC of your device, knowingly or not.
Step-by-step Firmware Installation Guide
Let’s see how to install the firmware on your Galaxy A5. Make sure you have more than 30% battery on your device.
Step 1. Make sure you have downloaded the correct firmware file on your PC. See above for how to download correct firmware file for your Galaxy A5 and download links.
Step 3. Also, download Odin PC software (latest version).
Step 5. Extract the Odin file. You should get the Odin exe file (other files could be hidden, hence not visible).
Step 6. Disconnect your Galaxy A5 from PC if it is connected.
Step 7. Boot into download mode:
Power off your device. Wait for 6-7 seconds after screen goes off.
Press and hold the three buttons Volume down + Home + Power together until you see the Warning screen.
Press Volume Up to continue to download mode.
Step 9. Connect your device now using the USB cable. Odin should recognize your device. It’s a must. When it recognizes, you will see Added!! message appearing in the Log box in the bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will also show a no. and turn its background blue. Look at the pic below.
You cannot proceed until you get the Added!! message, which confirms that Odin has recognized your device.

You can try different USB ports on your PC too.
Load the firmware files(s) on your device. This depends on how many files you got in step 4 above upon extracting the firmware .zip file.
Case 1: If you got a single .tar/.tar.md5 file, then load this into AP tab of your Odin software. Then go to next step.
Case 2: If you got more than one .tar/.tar.md5 file, then you must be having files starting with AP, CSC, Home_CSC, BL, CP, etc. stuff. In this case, choose the files as follows. Select the firmware files as follows.
About CSC file: Using the HOME_CSC file won’t reset your device, and data on the phone shouldn’t be deleted. However, when we select regular CSC file, and it results in CSC on the device being different than that in CSC file, your phone will be formatted automatically. You can even choose to ignore loading the CSC file, that may do alright too. But if it doesn’t work out, repeat the whole process and select CSC file this time around.
Info: When you load files, Odin checks the md5 of firmware file, which takes time. So, simply wait until that’s done and the firmware file is loaded. Don’t worry if Odin gets unresponsive for a while, it’s normal. Binary size will also show up in Odin.
Go back to Log tab now, as it will show the progress of firmware installation when you hit the start button in next step.
Wait till installation is finished, after which your device will reboot automatically. You’ll get PASS message as shown below upon successful installation from Odin.
Some errors you may run into, and with respective solution.
If Odin gets stuck at setup connection, then you need to do this all again. Disconnect your device, close Odin, boot device into download mode again, open Odin, and then select the file and flash it again as said above.
If you get FAIL in the top left box, then also you need to flash the file again as stated just above.
That’s it. Let the device restart automatically.

Our Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was released with much anticipation. Android fans everywhere were hoping it would be a sleeker and much improved device from the Galaxy Tab S2, which is now getting long in the tooth. Samsung has obviously made steps to improve upon the Galaxy Tab S2, such as the introduction of the AKG tuned quad stereo speakers, a superior camera both front and back, longer battery life and processor and RAM improvements. However, depending on your budget that may not be enough to justify the £200 price hike. We will know more when we have finished our complete testing of the Tab S3.

Android tablet fans were hotly anticipating the release of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 as it was announced in Barcelona last week at MWC. Tab S2 vs Tab S3: UK Price and availabilityYou can buy the 9.7in Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 in black, gold or white today for £399.95 (via John Lewis), while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 in black or silver will be available on 7 April at £599.99 (also via John Lewis – you can pre-order from 5 April). That’s a hefty increase over the Tab S2.
Galaxy Tab S2 vs Tab S3: Design and DisplayOn the face of it, not much has changed aesthetically speaking. The Tab S3, in common with the Tab S2, has smooth, rounded edges that make it feel comfortable in the hand. The Tab S3 comes with the six-pin keyboard connectivity along the side, and also has quad stereo speakers. These have been tuned by speaker and headphone specialist AKG, and will thus provide improved sound quality. However, if you rarely play sound out of the tablet itself and use headphones or external speakers, this addition will mean little to you.
The Tab S3 also has faster USB 3.1 than the USB 2.0 connection found on the Tab S2, bringing improved transfer speeds and accessibility for a mouse or external keyboard if you haven’t yet got yourself a tablet keyboard set up. Image: Galaxy Tab S3Although both the S3 and the S2 have 9.7in SuperAMOLED displays, the Tab S3 is every so slightly larger than the Tab S2 by 0.4mm. It’s also a little heavier.
The Tab S3 comes with the improved and redefined S Pen in the box, which allows the user to quickly navigate between apps as well as provide assistance to any user wishing to take notes or sketch designs. However, the device does not have a holder for the pen, so losing it could be a problem.
Both tablets come with a fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button.
The Galaxy Tab S3 does not have NFC so, like its predecessor, you won’t be able to use Android Pay or share files, pictures and contacts by hovering the tablet over another device. Also see: Best Android tablets 2023
Tab S2 vs Tab S3: Processor Image: Galaxy Tab S2 Tab S2 vs Tab S3: BatteryAlthough the Galaxy Tab S3 has a larger battery than its predecessor, up from 5,870mAh to 6,000mAh, many expected a larger battery still – the iPad Pro, for example, has a 10,307mAh battery.
However, Samsung claims the Tab S3 will last for 12 hours compared to the iPad’s 10 hours. Again, this is something we will need to test properly when we get the Tab S3 into our lab. The Tab S3 also offers fast charging, which is useful when you need to be out on the road.
Tab S2 vs Tab S3: CamerasAs tablet cameras are predominantly used for video calls, the Galaxy Tab S3 has an improved 5Mp front-facing camera, compared to the Galaxy Tab S2’s 2.1Mp camera. The rear-facing camera has also been improved on the Galaxy Tab S3 with a bump up from 8- to 13Mp, which is comparable to the new Samsung Galaxy Book also announced at MWC 2023.
Image: Galaxy Tab S3 Tab S2 vs Tab S3: StorageStrangely, while you can get a Galaxy Tab S2 with 64GB of internal storage, the Tab S3 is available only with 32GB. Samsung’s decision on this is a bit of a head-scratcher: with large files such as movies and shows, a plethora of games to choose from, not to mention all the photos and videos which can be captured on the device, you would expect at least the option of a larger internal capacity.
Having said that, the Tab S3 does offer support of microSD cards of up to 256GB in size. Although we’d like to see more storage as standard, the newer tablet actually has the potential to have more storage than its predecessor.

Official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update For Verizon Galaxy Nexus
Last weekend, a lucky user finally saw the much awaited Android 4.2.2 update arrive on his Verizon Galaxy Nexus, but it seems Verizon is not yet ready to push out the update to everyone. However, the aforementioned user grabbed the OTA update’s link from the official Google servers and it is now available for downloading and installing manually.
With Android 4.2.2, users will see quite a few new features, including a new keyboard with gesture typing, Daydream screen saver mode for displaying images and other content when phone is idle, faster performance and smoother app switching, 360 degrees panorama mode and a new camera interface, and many other small but useful changes. The update also includes new radios for the device, which are reported to improve the network strength.
We have prepared a guide to help you update to Android 4.2.2 manually if you don’t want to wait around for dear old Verizon to make it available. There are two versions available – one is the official OTA update that you can install on a stock unaltered Android 4.1.1 ROM, and the other is a custom version that is pre-rooted and has to be installed from a custom recovery.
All right then, once you’ve decided whether you want the official Android 4.2.2 update or the custom rooted version, follow the respective instructions below to install it on your Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
Compatibility
The procedure described below is only for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Do not try it on any other device.

This is the official OTA update that you can install if your phone is on 100% stock Android 4.1.1 ROM (build number JRO03C, which you can confirm from the Settings » About phone menu). It will also install the new radios along with the update, and should be used by anyone simply wishing to update from Android 4.1.1.
Extract the Fastboot.zip file on your computer to get a folder named Fastboot with four files inside it. To keep things easy, extract the Fastboot folder to drive C.
Then, copy the update file downloaded in step 2 to this “Fastboot” folder you just obtained. You’ll then have five files inside Fastboot.
Turn off the phone, then boot it into stock recovery. To do so, first boot into the bootloader mode by holding down the Vol Up + Vol Down + Power buttons together till the screen turns on. Then, using the volume buttons, scroll till you see the “Start” text change to “Recovery mode”, then select it using the power button to boot into stock recovery.
You will then see an Android with a red exclamation point. Now hold down the Power button then press the Volume Up key to see the recovery menu.
Select the apply update from adb option in recovery, by scrolling to it using the volume buttons and selecting it with the power button.
Connect the phone to the computer. Wait for the drivers to finish installing if this is the first time you’ve connected the phone after installing the drivers.
Now, perform the following steps in the command prompt to flash the Android 4.2.2 update:
Navigate to the Fastboot folder which you obtained in step 6. For example, if the Fastboot folder is in drive C on your computer, enter cd C:Fastboot in command prompt (and press Enter) to navigate to the folder.
Then, enter adb devices. If your Galaxy Nexus has been detected properly, you will see a device ID show up in command prompt. If nothing comes up, make sure you have installed the drivers (step 1).

After you enter the above command, you will see the “sending: sideload” message in the command prompt, and once it reaches 100%, the update will start installing on your phone.
After the update finishes installing, select reboot system now on the phone to reboot it and boot up into Android 4.2.2. You can stop reading the guide now as the procedures given below aren’t needed if you followed method I.
This is a custom rooted version of the Android 4.2.2 update that you can install using a custom recovery. You will need to unlock the bootloader on your device to install it, which will wipe all data from your device (unless you’re already on an unlocked bootloader). This doesn’t include the new radios from the update, but those can be manually installed later if needed.
Your phone’s bootloader will need to be unlocked to flash the ROM and you also need ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery installed on it. Unlock the bootloader and install CWM recovery by using the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit. Make sure you took a backup in step 1 as this will wipe all data from the phone and reset it to factory settings. Skip this if you already have the bootloader unlocked or have CWM recovery installed.
Download the Android 4.2.2 ROM from the source page.
Copy the ROM to the phone. Don’t extract the ROM’s file, simply copy it as it is to the phone.
Boot into ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery. To do this, turn off the phone. Then, press and hold the following keys together: Power + Volume Up + Volume Down to enter Fastboot mode where you will see “Start” written in big green letters. Then, using the volume buttons, navigate to the Recovery mode option, then select it using the Power button to reboot into recovery mode.
Select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from sdcard. Scroll to the ROM file and select it. Confirm installation on the next screen.
After the installation is complete, go back to the main recovery menu and select reboot system now to reboot the phone and boot up into Android 4.2.2.
What to do if ROM doesn’t boot: If the phone gets stuck at the boot animation after installing the ROM, you will need to wipe data from recovery. To do that, remove and reinsert the phone’s battery, follow step 5 to boot into CWM recovery, select wipe data/factory reset and confirm data wipe (this will not wipe the internal storage). Then, reboot the phone after wipe is complete.
Installing New Radio
The Android 4.2.2 update includes new radios for the device, which people are reporting to provide better network strength and signal quality. If you’ve used the second method and installed the custom rooted version, then you’ll need to manually download and install the radios. To do that, perform the following steps:

Copy the downloaded file to the phone.
Boot into CWM recovery (see step 5 of the guide above for the procedure to boot into CWM).
Select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from sdcard. Scroll to the radio file and select it. Confirm installation on the next screen.
After the installation is complete, go back to the main recovery menu and select reboot system now to reboot the phone. The new radios are now installed on your device.

Before you begin with the instructions below, make sure your android device is adequately charged — at least 50% battery of the device.
STEP 0: CHECK DEVICE MODEL NO.

STEP 2: INSTALL LATEST DRIVER

STEP 3: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
DOWNLOADSDownload the CF Auto Root file given below and transfer it to a separate folder on your computer (just to keep things tidy, that is).

Disconnect the Galaxy Tab 3 from PC if it is connected.
Boot your Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 3G into Download Mode:
Power off your phone first and wait for 6-7 seconds after display is off.
Press and hold these 3 buttons together until you see Warning! screen: Volume Down + Power + Home.

Make sure you have installed driver for Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 as said above in Step 2 about drivers above this guide.
If you have already installed driver, then uninstall them and reinstall back.
Connect using a different USB port on your PC.
Try a different USB cable. The original cable that came with your phone should work best, if not, try any other cable that’s new and of good quality.
Reboot your phone and PC and then try again.
Load the firmware file (extracted in Step 1) into Odin as instructed below:
Now in the Option section of Odin, make sure that Re-Partition box is unchecked. (Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes remain checked, while all other boxes remain unchecked.)
Double check the above two steps.
If you see FAIL message instead of the PASS in Odin’s top left box, that’s a problem. Try this now: disconnect your Galaxy Tab 3 from PC, close Odin, remove phone’s battery and put it back inside in 3-4 seconds, open Odin and then repeat from Step 2 of this guide again.
Also, If device is Stuck at setup connection or on any other process, then too, try this: disconnect your Galaxy Tab 3 from PC, close Odin, remove phone’s battery and put it back inside in 3-4 seconds, open Odin and then repeat from Step 2 of this guide again.
NOTE: It may happen that your phone doesn’t automatically boot into recovery and root your phone. In that case follow the following above procedure except that in Step 7, Auto Reboot option is un-checked and then the instructions below:
Pull out the battery and re-insert it after few seconds.
Boot your Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 into Recovery Mode: Press and hold these 3 buttons together: Volume Up + Power + Home.
Now, this will start the rooting process and will reboot the phone automatically when the process is done.
