Suggested December 2023 What To Expect During Ea Play Live 2023

With most big conventions being completely canceled for 2023, a lot of companies have moved towards online events instead. Recently, we’ve seen IGN’s Summer of Gaming event and the Steam Game Festival, Summer Edition launch with great success. The latest of these events is EA Play Live which kicks off June 18th at 4 PM PT.

If you’re excited to see just what’s coming in EA Play Live, we have a rough idea of some of the great things we can expect.

Star Wars: Squadrons

The excitement is already building for Star Wars: Squadrons. While we do have some information on what we can expect, it’s going to be great to get a look at some gameplay footage and hints on what’s to come.

If you haven’t had a chance to take a look at this game yet, have a look at the release trailer below.

Apex Legends

It also looks like we might get some information on the future of Apex Legends. As this battle royale title is still one of EA’s biggest games, we’re expecting that it will make an appearance on next-generation consoles. Perhaps we’ll see some new updates teased?

We could even see some information on whether crossplay will be available for this title which would be great for the player counts when the new consoles launch.

EA Sports Titles

We’ve already been shown a Madden 21 trailer for everyone’s favorite football franchise. This also means that EA is probably committed to dropping an update for the rest of its sports titles as well.

We’d expect to see some news on a new FIFA release as well as maybe some NHL news while they’re at it. There is a rumored fourth release coming this year too, but we don’t yet know what it is. With 2K having a pretty good monopoly on the NBA games and Sony’s MLB: The Show taking care of baseball, could this fourth game be the already-leaked EA Sports UFC 4?

EA Originals

It’s always nice when new and original titles make an appearance. This is something EA hasn’t left behind either. Hazelight Studios has mentioned that they will be showing a new co-op game during the event.

Zoink Games could also be showcasing its new game Lost in Random and we may even see more news on EA’s partnership with Velan Studios.

Could BioWare Make an Appearance?

Bioware is still unconfirmed for this event so far. We have heard rumors that a remastered Mass Effect Trilogy is on the way, but this hasn’t been mentioned to make an appearance during EA Play.

The other option could be some kind of reveal for Dragon Age 4, or even an Anthem 2.0 but we wouldn’t hold out too much hope for that. The most likely outcome is that Bioware doesn’t make an appearance at all.

Final Word

We don’t have too long to wait until we find out a bit more news though, with the event happening tomorrow, there isn’t too long to wait. If we’re scraping the barrel for ideas, other release options could include a new Battlefield title or even a VR game, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Ces 2023: What To Expect

In the case of CES 2023, here’s the big tech trends we here at Popular Science are expecting to see at the show.

Virtual reality

via Oculus

In December, HTC announced that the HTC Vive would not be released to consumers until April 2023, more than four months after it was originally promised. HTC CEO Cher Wang explained the delay by saying that her team had made “a very, very big technological breakthrough.” Most experts expect the company to discuss the breakthrough at CES 2023.

Augmented reality

Minecraft on HoloLens

Microsoft Studio’s Sax Persson looks over his virtual Minecraft world at Xbox’s E3 event.

There’s a slim chance that we’ll see anything that regular people will be able to get their hands on anytime soon, but for those that are interested in the bleeding-edge of technology, CES 2023 will definitely provide that peak into the future.

Driverless cars and electric cars

What would a glimpse into the future be without autonomous vehicles? Now that 2023 is winding down, driverless cars are set to come onto the scene in a big way in the new year. Most notably, many are looking to Faraday Future for a big unveiling. The secretive startup company’s automobiles are expected to be fully-electric and, of course, ship with auto-pilot capabilities. But as for what else they could bring, we’ll have to wait until January 4 at 8pm.

Though don’t count out the car companies you grew up with. Appearances from Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Hyundai, Mercedes, Toyota and more could bring some interesting features to the car industry in their own right. Chevy and Volkswagen are expected to unveil new electric automobiles. And Ford might be looking to unveil its Google-powered self-driving cars. We’ll know for sure once the Consumer Electronics Show officially starts.

Drones

Amazon’s New Hybrid Drone Takes Flight

The jury is in: People love drones. In 2014, there were only four exhibitors at CES that were offering drones. This year, there will be 27 different exhibitors, with a massive marketplace taking up a large percentage of the showroom floor.

This year, the novelty of the quadcopter has finally worn off: It’s no longer enough to show people an ultra-powerful quadcopter with a 4K camera or one that can take off from the palm of your hand. It’s been done before, and the thrill is gone.

One of the drone companies everyone will be watching for is Lily Robotics. In 2023, Lily Robotics revealed its simple tracking drone on Kickstarter. The drone can be thrown up into the air, and it follows a user around using a bluetooth signal. The 2.8 pound Lily drone records video, audio, shoots photographs and can take off in midair—unlike many of the other aerial photography drones that require landing gears or feet. But while the concept videos have been very promising, it remains to be seen how functional Lily will be in practice, and hopefully CES 2023 is where we will find out.

Home automation

Smart Home

We’ve heard it for years: the home of the future will be powered by intelligent devices that communicate with each other and make life a little easier. The problem is that in the last three years, smart home products have largely failed to live up to the hype. Most come with their own apps and must be strung together with other smart home products using weird application programming interfaces (APIs) or IFTTT recipes. We hope this year will be different.

At CES 2023, almost all of the Tech West hall will be covered by new smarthome gadgets. Products that are compatible with Google’s Nest Learning Thermostat, Apple HomeKit, Wink, and Thread are expected to be bountiful. For the most part, all of these smart home platforms are still fragmented and have very few products that can actually work together in a meaningful way. That could change at CES, where many of the major product makers like Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, even the glass manufacturer Corning, and more will be displaying their latest lineup of home appliances and devices.

Wearables

Pebble Time Round Screen Vs Apple Watch

The Apple Watch’s can be seen in bright daylight, but the Pebble Time Round shines under these conditions. No smartwatch is more visible in well-lit situations

The year 2023 was a big one for wearables. The release of the Apple Watch, updated Android Wear OS and new versions of the Pebble Watch made their way to our wrists. In 2023, we could see many of the same themes: fitness tracking, notification serving and always-connectedness will likely play a big role in the new year. And, naturally, see a big presence at CES.

Fitness-fiends looking to track progress can look no further. Companies like Misfit, Fitbit, and more will join smaller names like Slendertone, GymWatch, Vert and others. Needless to say there’s no shortage of options when it comes to tracking progress.

Those on the other end of the spectrum will also have ways to keep up with the uphill battle of handling notifications. While we don’t recommend holding your breath that Apple shows off the Watch 2 during CES 2023, you can be sure that smartwatch makers like Motorola and Huawei will have their latest and greatest on display at the show. Whether they reveal new features for those devices—or new devices themselves—remains to be seen.

And we’ll see some interesting new takes on the wearable. Samsung will demo its rink wearable controller. Those with Gear VR will finally be able to use their hands in virtual reality—similar to what we’ve seen from HTC with the Vive or Sony with its Playstation VR efforts slated for 2023. And the company plans to introduce new technologies to bolster its existing wearables. TipTalk, for example, will enable users to touch their ear to receive better audio quality for calls when outdoors.

Most of the wearable tech present at CES in 2023 will take the shape of small gadgets. But those looking to make a statement have no shortage of options either.

Google I/O 2023: Here’s What We Expect

Google I/O 2023 is right around the corner. Google’s annual developer conference will kick off tomorrow, May 7th, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View and we expect the company to come with a hoard of surprises up its sleeves.

7 Announcements Expected at Google I/O 2023 1. Pixel 3a/ 3a XL

Google’s hardware plans aren’t heading in the direction the company expected it to, with Pixel 3 sales not even matching up to the Pixel 2, so it now plans to recapture the market with the launch of the much-rumored Pixel 3a. This mid-range Pixel smartphone has been mistakenly confirmed by Google on its website and the rumor mill has been hyping it ever since.

The highlight of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will, however, be the Pixel-grade cameras, which Google is said to be porting from its flagship Pixel 3. You would get the Pixel Visual Core chip, with the company’s software perks and Night Sight for about half the flagship price with this device.

There’s no info on the Indian pricing of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL, which is important as the same will decide whether these mid-range smartphones will be able to survive amid the slew of competitively priced phones.

2. Stable Android Q Beta

While the next flavor of Android is usually the highlight of Google I/O, it’ll most likely be overshadowed by the company’s hardware launch this time around. We’ve already seen two Android Q beta releases over the past couple of months, giving a brief look at what Google is bringing to Android, but the company will detail all the new features on stage during the keynote tomorrow.

The developers, on the other hand, could look forward to more info on scoped storage, optimizations for folding smartphones, ART, ANGLE and Neural Networks API.

3. Nest Hub Max

Apart from the Pixel 3a, Google is expected to unveil another hardware product at I/O 2023. It’s the Nest Hub Max, which will be a new addition to the company’s Assistant-backed Home smart displays lineup but possibly under the Nest brand name.

Google is basically going to slap a massive 10.1-inch screen on its powerful Home Max smart speaker, giving users the ability to visualize the replies to their commands, make Duo video calls and more. It’s another product that Google mistakenly listed on its own website, but the relation to the Nest branding is unclear at the moment.

4. Google Assistant

Google Duplex, the feature where Assistant could book appointments on your behalf can get an upgrade and expand beyond the confines of the United States.

5. Stadia

Google’s cloud-based game streaming service, Stadia, launched back in March to much fanfare. It enables users to stream AAA game titles in Chrome browser on any mobile device, TV, computer and other devices from Google’s servers.

6. Android Automotive

A lot of you, I bet, would have heard of Android Auto. It’s a feature that comes baked in many four-wheelers and enables you to project a revamped Android interface from your smartphone to a display on the car’s infotainment system. However, Google is looking to change that with Android Automotive OS, which is a full-fledged Android-based OS which will be installed on your car’s infotainment system.

Android Automotive OS was recently demoed running on Volvo Polestar 2, which will be the first vehicle to officially launch with the OS in tow. It’s much different from the Android Auto we know, so we can expect to learn more about it at I/O 2023.

7. Android Wear, Android TV & More

In addition, there are a number of other operating systems, apps, and features that the company could shed light upon at its developer conference. Android Wear recently got a tiles feature, so we expect to learn about more such features that make the platform lot more user-friendly.

What To Expect: Exynos 8895 Vs Snapdragon 835

In 2023 we’re back to a familiar battle of the octa-core processors, albeit with both Qualcomm and Samsung opting for custom CPU cores this time around. We can’t say for sure which will be faster without some hands-on time, but the two companies are touting similar performance and energy efficiency improvements over last year’s close fought battle.

The Snapdragon 835 is apparently offering around a 20 percent boost to performance over the 821, while Samsung touts up to a 27 percent improvement with its Exynos 8895 from the 8890. Both companies have moved over to new CPU designs this year, although Samsung’s naming convention and PR hints at a revision rather than a complete refresh. The Kryo 280 is a new semi-custom ARM design that Qualcomm is using for its performance and energy efficient cores, while Samsung is designing its own big core for use in a familiar big.LITTLE setup, having licensed ARM’s ARMv8 ISA (Instruction Set Architecture). We don’t know the exact changes and improvements made to the internals of these two chips, but it appears that improving power efficiency has been a key goal at both companies.

We’re likely to see the biggest performance improvements come in the form of graphics performance, as Samsung switches to ARM’s new Bitfrost architecture.

Both SoCs are also looking at the option of a 40 percent decrease in power consumption too, mainly thanks to the move down to Samsung’s 10nm manufacturing process. Samsung will be building these two processors on the same process. Given how close the CPU performance between the two was last year, we’re almost certainly looking at comparable results again in 2023.

Cameras and vision processing

Dual camera technologies are expected to see massive growth this year and there’s been plenty of speculation about whether or Samsung will hop on the trend with its Galaxy S8. Either way, the Exynos 8895 now matches Qualcomm in supporting dual cameras, but has a slightly different take with support for a 28MP sensor paired with a low power 16MP secondary. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 supports up to dual 16MP sensors.

Of course, this doesn’t mean we’re going to see these exact configurations inside devices, nor does it strictly mean massive improvements to image quality. However, support for dual camera technologies opens the door for manufacturers to include “optical zoom” capabilities, monochrome sensor HDR enhancements, wide angle shooting options, and software depth of field effects. In addition, the two chips support Dual Photodiode Auto-Focus, first seen inside the Galaxy S7.

Faster data speeds

The other major feature in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 is the gigabit LTE X16 modem, which offers customers the potential of 1Gbps download and 150Mbps upload speeds, providing that their network is up to scratch. Clearly this is more of a future-proof feature than something that we’re all going to be maximizing right now, but Samsung has its own modem that matches the Snapdragon 835’s speed.

With both handsets supporting high frame rate 4K video playback, faster LTE data speeds on supported networks are becoming a must.

The Exynos 8895 offers 1Gbps down, 150Mbps upload speeds too, and goes one step further by featuring the first modem to offer 5 band carrier aggregation, up from the four band aggregation available with the 835.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that data speeds will be any faster on Samsung’s phone, but it suggests that performance could be slightly better maintained in congested areas and at the cell edge. Again, only providing that the LTE network has many bands available for aggregation.

The bottom line is that phones featuring both the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 are future-proofed for the rollout of faster LTE-Advanced networks in the coming years.

Qualcomm and Intel reveal LTE modems with 1Gbps download speeds

News

Wrap up

Although Qualcomm and Samsung have taken different approaches with their latest SoC designs, there’s a surprising amount of feature cross-over between the two. Qualcomm has gone back to octa-core and implemented some camera features previous available with the Exynos 8890, while Samsung’s latest chip is looking to close the GPU, LTE, and camera ISP deficit with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series.

We can already make out couple of unique features on both platforms, 120fps 4K video for Samsung and additional heterogeneous power for Qualcomm. Although we’ll have to see if these actually made any difference to actual devices. Overall, the launches point to two very promising looking chips that are probably going to be harder to tell apart than ever.

Of course, we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on some smartphones before drawing any definitive performance conclusions. We also don’t yet know if there are any major differences in some of the smaller extras supported by the two platforms either, such as fast charging speeds and iris scanning support. Still, are either of these chips likely to sway your purchasing decisions this year?

Ps4 Vs Ps5: Which One To Buy And What To Expect

PS4 Vs PS5: Which One to Buy and What To Expect Next Gen Gaming Is It Worth the Hype?

Whatsoever, one thing is sure after the launch of PS4 and PS4 Pro, Sony is the undisputed winner in the home console war with Microsoft Xbox.

Both PS4 and PS4 Pro were released for the same price where PS4 was released in 2013, PS4 Pro was launched in 2023. The only difference was in the specifications. In market you can find PS4 and PS4 Pro games, however, there is no official announcement for PS5 games.

To get the answer and to understand latest gaming console let’s read further.

There are different things in which you will see a difference like specifications, price, design, etc. We will cover each thing in details step by step.

Major Difference between PS4 vs PS5: Specifications PS4 Pro Specs

CPU: 2.1GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar

GPU: 4.2 TFLOP AMD Radeon (36CU, 911MHz)

Memory: 8GB GDDR5 + 1GB

HDR: Yes

Resolution: 4K

Storage: 1TB

PlayStation 5 specs

CPU: Custom AMD Zen 2

GPU: Custom AMD GPU (supports ray-tracing and 3D Audio)

Memory: Unknown

HDR: Yes

Resolution: Supports 8K

Storage: SSD

Well, here comes the most important thing the price factor. The starting price of PS4 is $299.99 MSRP on Sony’s official website. While PS4 Pro costs around $399.99 on Sony official website.

We expect PlayStation 5 system to be around $499.99. But this is not yet official. However, rumors suggest PlayStation 5 wouldn’t be much expensive.

Major Difference between PS4 vs PS5: Design

Yes, there will be a change in PS5 design. Although the design hasn’t been revealed officially but you can see the final design on Sony’s official website. In the above image as per the renders from Sony’s patent, there are a number of buttons like on/standby, eject, reset, network and system initialization. There are also several status lights like “0 to 7” which are likely related to CPU cores but, it could also be for controllers connected with the PS5. Nevertheless, since the above image is not the final output or final design for the PS5 console, we will be considering something new to come.

Major Difference between PS4 vs PS5: Controllers

According to Sony PS5 will come with a new controller. This new PS5 controller will get haptic feedback to replace DualShock 4’s rumble technology. You will also get adaptive trigger buttons(L2/R2) in the PS5 controller, which allow developers to program the resistance of the triggers to simulate actions more accurately.

In an interview with Business Insider Japan (translated by Gematsu), SIE CEO Jim Ryan said: “3D audio and the haptic feedback support of the controller are also things that, when you try them, you will be surprised at how big a change they are. Even just playing the racing game Gran Turismo Sport with a PlayStation 5 controller is a completely different experience. While it runs well with the previous controller, there is no going back after you experience the detailed road surface via haptic control and play using the adaptive triggers.”

Sony is going to move solely onto PSVR 2 in PS5 controllers, and we are hoping the console will have a different meaning of tracking the controller otherwise, compatibility issues will be there.

Major Difference between PS4 vs PS5: Games

There’s no official update for PS5 games. However, rumors suggest we might get to play:

Gods and Monsters

Ratchet & Clank

Godfall, Call of Duty: Black Ops 5

Horizon Zero Dawn 2

Cyberpunk 2077

Ghost of Tsushima

God Of War 2

Final Fantasy VII Remake

The Elder Scrolls VI

Death Stranding

Spider-Man 2

The Lords Of The Rings: Gollum

Sniper Elite 5

Dying Light 2

GTA 6

Assassin’s Creed: Kingdon

Uncharted 5

Dragon Age 4

Final Fantasy XIV

Batman: Arkham Legacy

Gran Turismo 7 and last but not the least FIFA 2023.

From the game point of view, at this point Ghost of Tsushima to The Last of US 2 would be prime for PS5 cross-gen upgrades.

Conclusion- With the launch of new-gen PlayStation 5, PS4 and PS4 Pro might vanish from the gaming console world. But one thing is definite PS4 is current-gen console and we have high hopes from PlayStation 5 to com. Surely, we will have to wait for PS5 but it will be worth. Until then, enjoy playing games in PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro consoles.
