Suggested December 2023 Why Is Ios 15 Not Installing? 12 Fixes You Can Try!

Apple announced the latest version of iOS at its annual WWDC event in June. Dubbed as iOS 15, the latest version of the iOS brings a host of new features, such as Focus mode, Share Play, a new weather app, improved security, Facetime improvements, and more. The new Operating System was released to the public on the 21st of September for iPhone 6s and newer devices.

If you are on any of the aforementioned devices and are running a non-jailbroken version of iOS, you should be able to download the update right away. Unfortunately, not everyone has been lucky enough to download and install the latest version of the Operating System on their iPhone. Here, we will discuss the reasons behind unsuccessful installations and hopefully, help you out with a solution. Now without further ado, let us get to it.

Why is iOS 15 not installing on your iPhone?

iOS 15 is the latest iPhone operating system, which should be available to all supported models for free. So, make sure your iPhone is not older than iPhone 6s. Even the first generation of iPhone SE are officially supported to download and install iOS 15. After you have confirmed the model number, check out whether you have an active WiFi connection. Without WiFi, iOS 15 will not be downloaded to your iPhone. Also, since millions of users tend to install the latest OS right away, the servers are often a bit too crowded.

How to fix iOS 15 not installing on your phone

Now that we have looked at some of the top reasons, let us check out how you could solve iOS 15 not installing issue on your iPhone.

Fix #1: Simply Wait

The update is big and both its download and installation take time. A lot of time, really. So, try to wait it out. Let is download and let it install for a reasonable amount of time before trying to fix it because it may simply be not broken.

The release of a new version of iOS is a mega event, meaning million of iPhone owners try to download the new OS immediately. When that happens, the server comes under an insurmountable amount of pressure, which often halts the release of updates. In that case, it is best if you simply back off and try again later. It can be a couple of hours or days, but you are likely to get through once the Apple servers calm down a little.

Plus, they also have to keep an eye on any bugs that may be reported by users in different regions and on different phones and such. Thus they release it only slowly for everyone.

Fix #2: Restart and try again

Yes, we are starting small, but it may very well be the fix you need to start installing iOS 15. To restart your iPhone, press and hold the volume up/down button and the side key until the power-off menu appears. Drag the power off slider to the right until it fades away completely. Give about 30 seconds and your phone will shut down completely. Now, press and hold the side key to turn your phone back on again.

Once your phone is ready to go, head over to Settings, then ‘General’ and finally, open ‘Software update.’ If everything goes to plan iOS 15 should start downloading and installing right away.

Downloading iOS 15 via your iPhone is the easiest way to get the latest OS. However, it might always be the most dependable. Thankfully, you can use your Windows or Mac computer to get the latest version of iOS on your phone just the same.

Fix #4: Switch off WiFi

Fix #5: Turn off VPN

Usually, when VPN is turned on, you get a little permanent banner under the notification shade, telling you the status of the VPN connection. You should be able to turn off your VPN from there itself.

Fix #6: Take off your smart battery case

Yes, another rather mysterious solution, but it seems to have worked for many users. If you are using a smart battery case with your iPhone — MagSafe included — you should try to update without it. After removing the smart battery case, go to ‘Settings,’ tap on ‘General,’ and hit ‘Software update.’ If an update is available, you will get the option to download and start the installation.

Fix #7: Kill background apps before installation

Fix #9: Sign out of iCloud and sign in

Signing out and back into your iCloud account is a surefire way of resetting most of the cloud-related interferences on your iPhone. To log out of iCloud first go to Settings and tap on your name at the top of your screen. Now, scroll down and tap on the ‘Sign out’ button. Once you have signed out of your iCloud account, you will have to sign back in again.

Go to Settings and then tap on the ‘Sign in to your iPhone’ banner at the top of your screen. Once you get to the sign-in screen, enter your Apple ID and password to complete the login process.

Fix #10: Make sure your phone has enough space

iOS 15 is a chunky update and requires you to have close to 4GB of free space. Although not mandatory, we recommend you to have at least 10GB of space. If you do not have that, be sure to delete video files, images, and big applications before giving it another shot.

Fix #11: Reset phone and skip Apple login

Resetting your beloved iPhone is far from an ideal solution. However, it might become a necessary evil if you cannot seem to find a way to update your iPhone to iOS 15. The best course of action, in that case, would be to reset your phone and continue with the update without actually logging in to your iCloud account.

An IPSW file is a raw software update file — firmware, of sorts — for many Apple devices, including iPhones. With its help, you can get the latest version of iOS on your iPhone. You can even use iTunes to get the IPSW files up and running. First, download any IPSW file from chúng tôi Be sure to pick the correct model number before proceeding with the download of iOS 15 IPSW file.

5G Not Showing Up On Android Or Iphone? 12 Fixes To Try

5G is an amazing technology that brings fiber-like internet access speeds to you wherever you are. That is, as long as your phone finds and locks on to the 5G signal.

If you think you should get a 5G network connection, but your Apple iPhone or Android cell phone just won’t switch to the right network mode, here are some effective fixes.

Table of Contents

1. Do You Have a 5G Phone?

This may seem silly, but does your phone support 5G? Sometimes different versions of the same phone don’t all have 5G, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which has a non-5G version.

This can be down to which country they’re meant for or because they’re sold at different prices, but it’s essential to double-check that your phone’s specs list 5G. You can also look around on smartphone forums to see if anyone with the same phone as you is having similar issues.

In addition, your phone needs to support the correct 5G bands for your operator. If it doesn’t, you may not get 5G in some places or at all, depending on local 5G coverage. You must also ensure you’re using a 5G SIM card. If you have the wrong type of SIM card, it’s usually quick and inexpensive to perform a SIM swap for a newer one.

2. Check for 5G Coverage in Your Area

Speaking of 5G coverage, if you’re currently in a spot with no official 5G coverage, it stands to reason that your phone won’t show 5G as your current connection speed. Check your provider’s 5G coverage map to see if you fall within the official coverage range for 5G mobile data.

If not, you can always scan for a Wi-Fi connection’s SSID that may be open and hope they offer fast speeds. Remember to use a VPN whenever you use public Wi-Fi to mask your IP address and protect your data from others on the local network.

3. Force Your Phone to Use 5G Only

You may find that even if you’re in a coverage area and others have access to 5G, your phone doesn’t latch onto the signal. This might be a feature rather than a bug since 5G is a major battery hog.

As such, modern 5G phones will use LTE for cases that don’t require 5G speeds. After all, if you’re getting 100Mbps over LTE, very few internet applications will benefit from the higher speeds of 5G.

This isn’t a problem to fix, but your phone can get it wrong and switch you to LTE or 4G when it really should be using 5G.

Different types of Android phones may offer different ways to limit which types of network you prefer they use, but the easiest way to operate these toggles is to use an app like Force LTE Only.

4. Try Not to Block the Signal

Even within 5G coverage, local reception may be too weak, forcing your iPhone or Android phone to fall back on LTE or even older 3G technology. Some forms of 5G, such as millimeter-wave 5G, are especially vulnerable to being blocked, such as on a rainy day.

For fixed wireless 5G systems, the solution usually uses a signal strength detection tool to mount the 5G receiver in the optimal spot. Still, this isn’t very practical with a smartphone, so the best you can do is try to move around a little and see if this improves things.

With some types of 5G signals, simply moving away from your computer, sitting near a window, or turning in a different direction on the same spot can make the difference.

It’s also worth noting that mid-band 5G frequencies overlap with the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency bands. So if there’s a ton of traffic on a nearby dual-band Wi-Fi network, it might make it harder for your phone to lock onto the 5G signal with so much Wi-Fi signal filling the airwaves.

5. Is Your Plan Compatible With 5G?

Even if your phone has 5G hardware and support, and your carrier also supports 5G, that doesn’t mean your current plan with that carrier includes 5G. So it’s best to review the terms and conditions of your plan carefully or to get in touch with your mobile provider to check if your plan includes 5G.

If it doesn’t include 5G, it may be possible to change your plan, but this could incur additional costs. And in some cases, you may not be able to change anything about your plan until your current contract period has lapsed.

6. Turn Airplane Mode On and Off

One fast and easy fix you can try if your iPhone or Android phone gets 5G, but it’s just not getting 5G right now, is to toggle Airplane mode on and off again. Airplane mode disables all wireless communication on your device until you disable the mode again. This trick solves many internet connection issues, so it’s worth remembering the next time your internet connection starts acting strangely.

Swipe down from the top-right of your screen and then select the icon that looks like an airplane. Wait a few seconds, then toggle the mode off again using the same icon again.

On an Android phone, swipe the app shade from the top of the screen and look for a similar Plane icon.

Your phone must now reconnect to the nearest mobile network cell tower; this time, it may go with 5G, assuming that’s the strongest available signal.

7. Restart Your Device

Another good fix if you know 5G works and are having temporary issues is to reboot your device. As with many different temporary issues on smartphones, hitting the old power button can reset specific parameters to their correct defaults. Restarting is usually quick, so it’s worth doing this sooner rather than later to eliminate temporary problems from the actual issue.

Of course, if you frequently need to restart your phone to get 5G working, there may be a common underlying issue, so you’ll have to resolve it since having to power off your phone all the time isn’t ideal.

8. Install Software Updates

If a firmware update is available, especially if you’ve been putting it off for a while, download and install the update before trying to use 5G again.

9. Reset Your Network Settings

Smartphones have multiple network connection devices inside them, and each has saved settings that are essential to their functions. If these phone settings are corrupted or become otherwise incorrect, it can be helpful to reset them.

IOS and Android let you reset your network settings without touching anything else on the phone. So it’s completely safe to do. However, you must re-enter any network passwords, such as Wi-Fi router passwords, so if you’ve forgotten any, refresh your memory before going ahead.

If you had to manually enter an APN (Access Point Name) when setting up your mobile data connection, you might have to do it again. Contact your service provider if you can’t remember what it’s supposed to be.

You’ll have to enter your passcode to confirm, but once that’s done, your network settings will return to their initial state.

10. Disable Low Power Mode or Battery Saver Mode

When your iPhone or Android phone’s battery level drops below a certain threshold, the phone will go into a power-saving mode to help you get more time out of the last few battery percentage points. This is a crucial feature to prevent situations where you can’t make emergency calls because your phone has died.

Unfortunately, it does this by disabling fancy yet power-hungry features, of which 5G is a prime example. So one reason you may not see 5G connectivity is that the phone is trying to hang on for dear life.

If your phone is in power-saving mode, you can disable it manually to get all of your features running at full power, although this may mean the battery will die soon after.

Some Android devices may activate battery saver automatically. Though not all models call it the same thing and the exact path to get there will differ from model to model. Usually, the fastest way to access the toggle is to swipe down from the top edge of the screen to reveal the Android quick settings shade. There should be a power-saver toggle of some sort here. For example, on Samsung phones it’s called “Power saving.”

11. Factory Reset Your Phone

Sometimes, the only way to get your phone to behave normally is to perform a factory reset. We don’t recommend performing a factory reset on a whim; it should be clear that there is something systematically wrong with your phone and that no other troubleshooting steps work.

If you’ve tried everything and your phone still isn’t giving you 5G as it has in the past, then a factory reset is one of the last resorts. Remember to back up any important data, and to transfer any authenticators to another device or as backup codes before you wipe your phone.

To perform a factory reset, refer to our guides on factory resetting an iPhone and an Android phone.

12. Contact Your Carrier

If none of the solutions above resolve your issue, it’s time to contact your carrier to see if they can do anything from their side. Here are the customer service links for the most popular providers:

If you did not buy your phone through a carrier, you might have to contact the retailer who sold you the phone, or the manufacturer’s customer service line, when the problem is unrelated to something the carrier has any control over.

Why Is My Chromebook So Slow? 6 Fixes To Try!

Chromebooks rarely slow down over time, but if your Chrome OS device is not performing well, don’t worry. There are several ways you can try to improve a Chromebook’s performance and fix the issue. One option is to revert to an earlier build or update to the latest build, as this can resolve issues caused by a recent update. You can also identify any apps that may be causing the slow-down and close or uninstall them on your Chromebook. If you’re not sure which apps may be causing the issue, use the built-in task manager to help identify them. With that said, let’s look at the steps to troubleshoot and fix a Chromebook that’s running slow.

Is Your Chromebook Running Slow? Try These Fixes (2023)

If your Chromebook has gotten slower over time, don’t fret, as we have added six different ways to fix the slow-down issue. You can expand the table below and move to the method you wish to test out first.

Open the Task Manager on Your Chromebook

To find out why your Chromebook is running slow, open the Task Manager on your Chromebook and check the apps or extensions hogging crucial resources. This will help you notice the problem behind the slow performance. So here is how this method works:

1. First, press the “Search + Esc” keyboard shortcut on your Chromebook to open the Task Manager.

Uninstall Unnecessary Apps and Extensions on Chromebook

If you want to permanently uninstall apps that are causing CPU and memory spikes on your Chromebook, this guide will help you out with that. Apart from that, you should also remove unnecessary apps and extensions from your Chromebook to speed up things. Generally, these apps stay active in the background and actively run a few services, which slow down the Chromebook. So it’s best to delete apps/extensions on your Chromebook that you rarely use. Here’s how:

1. Go ahead and open the Chromebook App Launcher from the bottom-left corner.

Free Up Storage If Your Chromebook is Running Slow

We already know that budget Chromebooks come with little storage, and it fills up quickly. If you have less space on your Chromebook, the system does not function properly, thus, slowing down your machine. So to free up storage on a Chromebook, follow the steps below.

4. Next, delete the files you no longer need. If you want to keep some of the files, move them to Google Drive or a microSD card.

Reduce Disk Space For Linux on Your Chromebook

3. After that, reduce the storage assigned to Linux using the slider. If you don’t use Linux frequently, you can reduce the storage space it takes up to 8GB without any issues.

3. Your Chromebook will now look for new updates, and it will download and apply the update automatically if there is a pending one. You only need to restart the Chromebook to reflect the changes.

Powerwash Your Laggy Chromebook

Sometimes, no matter what fix you follow, it simply does not work in fixing a slow Chromebook. In such cases, you have the option to hard reset your Chromebook (also called powerwash). This process reinstalls the latest build of Chrome OS and removes all the apps, extensions, local files, and folders from your Chromebook. So make sure to sync your crucial files with Google Drive before powerwashing your Chromebook.

Samsung Dex Not Working? Try These Fixes

Samsung DeX is an amazing feature that offers a desktop-like experience via a bigger display on a Samsung Galaxy phone. If you use it regularly, but it suddenly stops working, you may be wondering what happened. Thankfully, you can easily make it work again by following the fixes provided below. Let’s check different ways to bring the Samsung DeX functionality back on track.

1. Restart All Connected Devices

The first thing you must do if Samsung DeX isn’t working is restart all of the connected devices, including:

Samsung Galaxy phone

Wi-Fi modem, if you are connecting wirelessly

PC, if you are using DeX on a PC

TV, if you are connecting DeX on a TV

2. Check Compatibility

For DeX to work properly, you must check whether the devices are compatible. Samsung DeX doesn’t work on all Samsung phones. It’s available only on the Samsung S8 series and up, except for the Galaxy Flip series.

Furthermore, you must have a TV that supports Miracast technology to use DeX wirelessly. Similarly, Windows PCs with an ARM processor may not be compatible with DeX. Touchscreen displays and Samsung DeX for Mac are also not supported. Check the list of the DeX-compatible devices and displays on Samsung’s official webpage.

Tip: check out other ways to run Android apps on PC.

3. Check Connected Hardware

Hardware plays a significant role in DeX working properly. You must ensure that everything is working smoothly. For instance, if you are using a DeX station, make sure your phone is seated properly. If necessary, remove the phone and replace it.

If DeX isn’t working on your TV or monitor, try connecting it to a different device. There are chances that the monitor may not be compatible with DeX.

4. Check USB Cable

For DeX connections via cable, ensure that the cable is securely plugged in. Remove and reconnect it. Also, try using the original cable that came with your phone and connect via a different port on your PC or monitor to get DeX working again.

5. Connect to the Same Wi-Fi Network

If you are trying to use DeX wirelessly, ensure that your phone and the device that you are trying to connect (TV or PC) are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Tip: is your Wi-Fi connection slow around the house? These steps can help remedy the situation.

6. Switch to a Different Wi-Fi Band

Some displays are not compatible with the 5GHz Wi-Fi band, so it would help if you switched to the 2.5 GHz network on both devices in Wi-Fi settings.

7. Disable the Power-Saving Mode

When using DeX mode, you must turn off the power-saving mode on your phone.

Turn off the toggle next to “Power saving.”

Also, try to charge your phone before using DeX or keep it plugged in when connecting DeX.

If you are using a USB to HDMI hub, make sure to connect it to a power supply; otherwise, you will only be able to screen mirror and will not have full use of the capabilities of DeX.

8. Turn Off VPN

DeX may not work properly if your phone or TV/PC is connected to a VPN. You must turn off your VPN, then try using DeX.

9. Change USB Mode on the Phone

Whenever you connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable, you will see a USB options notification in the notification panel. Tap on this notification, then try resetting the connection by switching to “Charging phone only,” then back to “Transfer files.” This should fix the issue of DeX not working.

10. Install, Open, or Restart the DeX App on PC

Unlike a TV, where you can use DeX without installing anything, you need to first download the DeX software to your Windows PC.

Next, make sure that the DeX app is open on your Windows PC when you are trying to use it. There’s a chance that your PC has closed the DeX app. If you don’t see the DeX app icon on the taskbar, open it.

However, if the DeX app is already running, restart the app by closing it and reopening it.

Tip: want to use Samsung DeX at a pro level? Learn how to get started.

11. Run DeX App as Admin on Your PC 12. Start DeX Mode on Your Phone

Typically, your Samsung phone will automatically switch to DeX mode when connected via a USB-C to HDMI adapter. If that doesn’t happen, enable DeX as shown below.

Press the “Start DeX” button. Also, enable the toggle next to “Auto start when HDMI is connected.” This will automatically start DeX mode when you connect an HDMI cable.

13. Select Right Connection Mode

On OneUI 5 and above, both your PC and TV/monitor will show up in the list of available devices under the “Connect wirelessly” section.

On the earlier versions of OneUI, Samsung offers two separate modes for connecting DeX: “DeX on TV” (or monitor) and “DeX on PC.” You must select the proper mode when connecting DeX.

14. Select Samsung DeX from Notification Panel

After connecting DeX, if your TV or monitor starts mirroring your phone instead of switching to DeX, you must tap on the Samsung DeX notification in the notification panel followed by Samsung DeX. That’s it. Samsung DeX mode will instantly launch on the connected device.

Pro Tip: on some phones, you may need to search for HDMI mode settings and switch to DeX from mirroring.

If you are able to connect your phone to your PC wirelessly, but the USB mode doesn’t work, you must update the USB drivers on your Windows PC. The issue with Samsung DeX not working could be happening due to outdated drivers.

Connect your phone and PC via the USB cable.

16. Clear Cache and Data of DeX App on Your Phone

As with everything, you must try the golden trick of clearing the cache and data of all the DeX-related apps on your Samsung Galaxy phone to fix DeX not working.

Open Settings on your Samsung Galaxy phone.

Go to “Apps.”

Tap on the Sort and Filter icon and enable the toggle next to “Show system apps.” Press the “OK” button.

Type “DeX” in the search at the top, then select each item that shows, one by one.

Go to “Storage” and press “Clear cache,” followed by the “Clear data” button. Repeat this for other DeX-related apps that you find in step #4.

Restart your phone.

If Samsung DeX fails to work on your PC, you must update the DeX PC app. You may be using an old version of the app, and it may have a bug or not be compatible with your phone. To update the Samsung DeX app on your Windows PC, follow these steps:

Launch the DeX app on your computer.

18. Reinstall DeX App on Your PC

If updating the DeX app didn’t help it work on your PC, then you must reinstall the app. Uninstall the DeX app from your computer, restart your computer, then install the app again.

19. Start Samsung Services on Your PC

If you are connecting DeX to your PC using a cable, ensure that Samsung Mobile connectivity services have been started. Typically, the services are set to start automatically, but this may have changed.

In your Windows search, type “Services” and select the best match underneath.

Reconnect the USB cable.

20. Add Wireless Display Feature on Windows 11

If Samsung DeX isn’t working on Windows 11, you may need to manually add the Miracast (wireless display) feature on some PCs running Windows 11.

Search for a “Wireless Display.” Select it and hit the “Next” button. Follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

After installing it, restart your computer, then try using DeX on PC.

21. Download Samsung DeX Patch

If your Samsung Galaxy phone is issued and administrated by a business, and DeX mode doesn’t start, you will need to download the DeX patch. But first, check whether a patch is required.

Disconnect your phone from the monitor.

Scroll down and look for “Knox Customization.” If it appears, you will need to download the DeX patch. Open the Knox website in a browser on your Samsung phone and follow the on-screen instructions to download the patch.

Do you have a company- or school-owned PC? If yes, and the above solutions didn’t help, you must contact the admin of your PC, as some public computers have security software installed that prevents DeX from running properly.

23. Reset Settings on Your Samsung Phone

Lastly, if Dex isn’t working, you must reset the settings on your Samsung phone. Doing so will restore all the settings to their original values, fixing the issues you may be facing while using DeX. Don’t worry, as this will not delete any data or files from your phone.

Tip: customization is one of the strong points of Samsung Galaxy phones. We show you how to personalize your home screen according to your preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions How can I fix DeX not working on my Mac?

As mentioned earlier, Samsung DeX is no longer supported on Mac. But if you have the older version installed, and it’s not working, you need to allow certain permissions.

How can I reset Samsung DeX?

There is no option to reset Samsung DeX. On a PC, reinstall the app, and on a phone, clear the data of the DeX apps.

Switch Dock Not Working? Try These Fixes

When the Dock does not work, both the display and USB port fails to respond, and the green LED on the corner does not light up. Although it may seem like the faulty power cable is to blame, we cannot rule out other possible causes like HDMI issues, the device being low on power or the device being in an error state.

There could be a slew of fixes. Checking the green LED is the easiest method. This indicates whether or not the device is receiving power. If the device receives power, the problem is most likely with its firmware or ports. And you might want to start by repairing those components. However, depending on what caused the issue, there may be more than one solution.

When a Nintendo Switch Dock stops working, there are two things that could have happened. Whether the device is not getting power or there could be other technical issues.

The device usually faces power issues due to a faulty power adapter or the port itself. On the other hand, technical issues could be anything from a defective display cable to a damaged dock.

Faulty HDMI cable

Nintendo Switch Outdated

Damaged Power Cable

Wrong display source on your screen

Damaged Switch Dock

Now that you know why Switch Dock stops working, let us understand how you can fix it.

First, restart both the Dock and the Switch and connect the two. Now check the Switch dock for a green LED.

If the LED is on, the issue is likely with the ports or configurations. If the LED does not turn on, remove and reconnect all the cables that go into your Dock.

If that does not work, you might want to power cycle the Switch.

Any parts inside a hardware component need to interact with each other to function. If a system or a device enters a deadlock situation where components cannot interact with each other, the entire device may not work.

This is where power cycling a device comes in. Power cycling a device frees it from all remaining charges which removes any configuration stored. This in turn returns the device to its base state or a stable state, fixing any errors or bugs causing the malfunction.

To power cycle the Switch,

Remove the Switch from the Dock.

Now plug everything back, connect the Switch to the Dock, and turn it on.

If power cycling does not work, you may need to insert the cables in the correct order before turning on the Switch.

Sometimes, the Switch dock only works when you insert cables in the correct order. Users in many Q&A forums have reported that connecting the power to the Dock solved the issue. Power issues may stop the ports from being detected when you connect them before the power supply.

It could also simply be a bug in Nintendo Switch. Nevertheless, here is how you need to connect the cables in Nintendo Switch.

Now connect one end of the HDMI cable to the Dock.

Connect another end of HDMI to the display device.

A bug in the device could be the reason Nintendo Switch is having issues connecting to the Dock. In that case, we recommend that you update your Switch right away. Updating Switch not only fixes any bugs and errors with the device but also brings new features and security upgrades.

To update Switch,

Turn on the Switch.

Scroll down to System.

Select Update and then press OK.

Once the process is complete, Switch will automatically restart.

Now connect Switch to the Dock and the Dock to your display device to see if the update fixed the problem.

When Switch is connected to a display device, Match TV Power State allows both your display device and Switch to turn on and off together. Meaning that when you turn on the display device, Switch automatically turns on and turns off when you turn off your primary display screen.

Enabling this feature can confuse Switch when turning off the display device and trying to turn on Switch. If that’s the case for you, we recommend that you disable Match TV Power State from TV Output settings.

Turn on the Switch.

Select the gear icon to open System Settings.

Scroll down to TV Settings.

If the green light on the Dock turns on, but you still do not get any display, the problem could be with the HDMI cable. HDMI cables do transfer video data efficiently. However, they are known to be faulty as well. Besides this, these cables do not age well with time, as frequent twists and turns are known to damage them.

Furthermore, you may also have issues getting any display on your monitor if the HDMI port version on the Dock does not match the HDMI cable’s version. Therefore, make sure that you are using the correct HDMI type.

Try using a different HDMI cable, one that matches the HDMI version and is not faulty, to connect the Dock to the display source to see if it fixes the issue.

Another reason the Switch dock does not seem to be working is if the display device is taking a different source as input. You will find several input ports on your display device. Therefore, you can select the input source from which the monitor takes input.

You need to make sure that the currently selected source on your display device is the one to which Switch is connected.

If you are on a TV, navigate through display settings and set the correct Source. On a monitor, however, you will need to navigate settings using the side buttons.

Note: Depending on the monitor or TV, you will need to navigate through the display configuration to find the correct settings.

Dust and debris on your display ports could be obstructing data transfer between the Switch and the display device. If this happens, the output screen will not display anything, making it seem like the Switch Dock is faulty.

Try cleaning both the ports on the Dock and the display device using a can of compressed air. Make sure that both the ports and the cables are clean before inserting them.

When you connect the Dock to a screen, the green light on the Dock will turn on. If this light fails to turn on, there is a high chance that it is not getting power or the battery draining fast and taking long time to charge. In that case, try using a different cable to power Switch Dock.

If the second power cable still does not work, it could be that the Dock itself is at fault.

If none of the solutions works, you can try using a separate dock to determine where the problem lies. If you still do not get anything on the screen after connecting the Switch to a different Dock, there is a high chance that the connector that joins the Switch to the Dock is faulty.

However, if the new Dock works, the issue is likely with the older Nintendo Switch dock, and you need to replace or repair it. You can try taking the Switch dock to a local electronic repair shop to get an idea about what caused the malfunction and ways you can fix it.
